After weighing out apprentice S. Barlow (CRAWFISH) advised stewards that she had forgotten to weigh out with her safety vest. CRAWFISH – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Eased from heels near the 900m.
MOHAKA RIVER – Stewards questioned stable representative Mr J. Baker in relation to the improved performance from its most recent start at Surat. Mr Baker advised that the gelding began awkwardly at the start, lost ground and as a result settled in a reward position. He added that the gelding also had a tendency to hang in throughout the race and when making ground in the home straight was interfered with by another runner. He added that based on the horses work following the event the stable had expected a forward showing for today’s event.
