Race 1: BECOME A MEMBER @ TRC BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1075 metres)

Race 1 was delayed, with a new start time of 1:30pm, to allow WANDER, which was engaged to race in the event, adequate time to arrive on course. Trainer J. Wanless advised stewards that he was under the impression that the start time of the event was 2:15pm, not 1:15pm. A publication error in some media outlets saw the start times of each race incorrectly displayed, one hour later than advertised. With this in mind, Stewards contacted trainers that were yet to arrive on course, to prepare for any further possible delays. As the rest of the trainers that weren’t aware of the incorrect published starts times were able to make it one hour prior to their engaged races, all remaining races were conducted as per the correct amended start times.

WANDER – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.

GALAPAGOS – Jumped away awkwardly, bumping with SIDETRIP.

SIDETRIP – Bumped on jumping by GALAPAGOS.

MORE THAN LIKELY – Stewards granted permission to Jockey J. Rudd to ride MORE THAN LIKELY 0.5kg overweight as no other rider was available. Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer W. Baker was advised that MORE THAN LIKELY would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start.

Race 2: ST JOEY FAMILY DAY JULY 16TH Maiden Plate (1200 metres)

NALSSENDORI – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice Jockey O. Kendal was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. When determining penalty, stewards took into account that this was Apprentice Kendal’s third breach under the respective rule for whip use of six times prior to the 100m in the previous six months under the revised whip template.

QWICK – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

PIERROTTI – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event. Tailed off entering the home straight, taking no further competitive part in the event.

MORE THAN CHARGED – Slow into stride. Approaching the 600m, elected to shift out to a wide position to obtain clear racing room.

Race 3: THANGOOL CUP SEPT 10TH QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1300 metres)

FAB’S COWBOY – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Race 5: TAB TRC FASHIONS OF THE FIELD HEAT JUNE 6TH Class B Handicap (800 metres)

After viewing the footage, Jockey Chambers elected not to proceed with any further action and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.

JACK O’DIAMONDS – Passing the 100m, was momentarily inconvenienced for racing room when SUNNYSIDE COTTAGE had shifted in marginally. Apprentice Jockey O. O’Donnell was reminded of her obligations to be mindful when allowing her mounts to shift in the home straight.

EIL ‘N’ ALL – Slow to begin. Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Rudd advised stewards that shortly after jumping, his saddle had shifted backwards, causing EIL ‘N’ ALL to buck for a number of strides, placing the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
