Race 1:WELCOME BACK TO TRC OPEN HANDICAP – 1075m
 
BOFORS – Slow into stride.
 
KRAVITZ – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Inclined to lay in when paced under pressure in the home straight.
 
No further racing incidents.
 
Race 2:TAB MEETING 27TH FEBRUARY CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m  
 
NASA – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance Apprentice T. Fenlon advised that after beginning poorly her mount failed to show early speed and as a result was forced to settle further back than anticipated. She further advised that from the 600m her mount failed to respond when placed under pressure and in her opinion proved disappointing. Stewards noted Apprentice Fenlon’s explanation.
 
CURIC – Bumped on jumping.
 
SHE’S OUT THERE – Began awkwardly making contact with CURIC.
 
RASBERRY BULLETS – Slow to begin.
 
ROCK THE BOX – Tailed off from the 300m taking no further competitive part in the event. Apprentice B. Johnson could offer no explanation for todays disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3:BECOME A MEMBER BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
VAHASH – Fractious in barrier. Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Improved onto heels and was forced to steady near the 800m.
 
MY GIRL SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.
 
HALLO POPPET – Began awkwardly.
 
NATIVE BEE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
SOFTEN IT UP – Began awkwardly.
 
ADVERSARY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4:TELEMON THOROUGHBREDS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 800m  
 
CHAYSE ‘N’ MENARI – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 3:07pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in CHAYSE ‘N’ MENARI be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
11 cents in the dollar for the win - #5
12 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #5
15 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #2
14 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #6
 
Trainer W. Baker was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
JOHNNY DEEP – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SLEEPDANCE – Began awkwardly. Inclined to hang in throughout. Laid in onto heels near the 100m and as a result was forced to shift out to obtain clear running.
 
ROCK DREAMER – Slow to begin.
 
FITZROY PLAIN – Apprentice L. O’Donnell was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
 
Race 5:BILOELA PLUMBING WORKS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 800m  
 
INFORMER – Began awkwardly.
 
WAS MET – Bumped on jumping.
 
ZENIA – Held up for clear running from the 300m until a point near the 200m. Shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
TELUICI – Bumped on jumping.
 
NO BETTER AFFAIR – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BEAN DEADLY – Began awkwardly.
 
AT THE HELM – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
JOEY JAWS – Began awkwardly.
