Stewards – Hayden Gillett, Gary Wust
GENERAL
Due to the forecast for adverse weather, the start time for the race meeting was brought forward at the request of the Club and in consultation with Racing Queensland and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission.
Following a track inspection the stewards upgraded the track to a good 3 at 11:00am.
Trainers S Rogers and R Kerwin advised stewards that they had experienced mechanical issues on route to the meeting and would not be able to attend today. Subsequently stewards declared the following late scratchings at 9:30am
Race 2: HINOKI WOOD
Race 4: ART BY CONCORDE
Stewards opened an inquiry in relation to a syringe containing a substance being located in the vehicle used by trainer Jason Hancock to transport his runner, ZUFASTA, to the race meeting. In initial evidence, Mr Hancock advised that the substance was a crushed acepromazine tablet that he carries in the event he has a horse that becomes agitated during travel. Stewards ordered that blood samples be collected from ZUFASTA. Stewards could not be satisfied that ZUFASTA had been administered any substance and therefore permitted the gelding to start. This inquiry has been adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.
Race 1: BILOELA PLUMBING WORKS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1075 METRES)
SMACKEROONY – Began awkwardly.
ZUFASTA – Stewards acceded to a request from apprentice M Mankelow’s master to withdraw her services for ZUFASTA after becoming aware of the horses past pre-race behavior and therefore approved apprentice A Meissner as the replacement rider. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide early and was ungenerous when being restrained near the 800m.
IMPERIONESS – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.
POWER CHIC – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Rockhampton on 27 November 2025 and was cleared to start. Slow into stride. Jockey A Butler advised that after failing to muster early speed, the filly settled further back than anticipated and made gradual ground when asked to improve leaving the 600m. Mr Butler further added that the filly may not have handled backing up from racing two days earlier.
PREVARICATE – Slow into stride and raced wide in the early stages.
Race 2: RED STEER HOTEL QTIS Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)
READY LIGHTLY – Slow into stride.
HINOKI WOOD – Declared a late scratching at 9.30am when trainer S Rodgers advised of mechanical issues on route to the course.
JUST LIKE ROSIE – Shifted ground inwards under pressure in the early part of the home straight resulting in SUNSHINE RUBY having to switch out across the heels to obtain clear running. Apprentice N Olzard was reminded of her obligations to ensure her mounts maintain a straight course.
SUNSHINE RUBY – Inconvenienced near the 200m when JUST LIKE ROSIE shifted inwards and then had to switch out across heels of that runner to obtain clear running.
MADAM MAGPIE – Began awkwardly.
Race 3: KERRY LYNCH CONCRETE OPEN Handicap (1200 METRES)

LASCO – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
