GENERAL
 
Following a track inspection conducted by stewards prior to the running of Race 1, the track was upgraded to a FIRM 2.
 
 
RACE 1: FIRST NATIONAL REAL ESTATE CLASS 4 PLATE (1075M)
 
MR SHORTY – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of MR SHORTY, Jockey Adam Sewell stated that the gelding was first up from a spell, having its first race start since September 2025. Jockey Sewell added that, in his opinion, the run would provide significant fitness benefits for MR SHORTY moving forward.
 
PRINCE CARLOS – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards bumping SILENT ANGEL.
 
HELIKEEMPRETTY – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MAKE IT SO – Began awkwardly. Shifted wider on the track near the 500m in an attempt to improve. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SILENT ANGEL – Began awkwardly and was bumped by PRINCE CARLOS which shifted inwards at the start.
 
SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards marginally when placed under pressure in the home straight.

 
RACE 2: CMC BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1200M)
 
JOEY D’OR – Dipped on jumping. Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.  
 
CRAIGLEA MERIDA – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Elected to shift wider on the track near the 600m in an attempt to improve.
 
ENTITLE – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.
 
GERRY’S PICK – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ROCK CREAMER (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

READY TO RHYME – Began awkwardly.

 
RACE 3: COOPER MCCULLOUGH QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (1200M)
 
MALBEC MAN – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result.

MISS ELOTAN – Bumped with ANDERS KISS at the start. Laid inwards when under pressure over the final 100m.
 
BESTOV – Unable to obtain clear racing room for majority of the home straight.
 
ANDERS KISS – Bumped with MISS ELOTAN at the start.  

 
RACE 4: LCH RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP (1400M)
 
MOISSANITE – Raced wide from a point passing the 600m.

EDWARDS – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
NITROGEN – Slow to begin.

DUBAWI’S GIRL – Trainer Jason Hancock advised of change of tactics for DUBAWI’S GIRL to be ridden further forward if circumstances permitted. Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MR GREY – Bumped with SWEET MOLLY at the start. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey Warwick Satherley was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out fully to the finish.
 
SWEET MOLLY – Bumped with MR GREY at the start. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

 
RACE 5: ACCOUNTING & YOU OPEN HANDICAP (1075M)
 
JUST SUPER – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides near the 100m.

GITALONG – Inclined to hang inwards shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight and had to be corrected by its rider.
 
WRITTLE – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Apprentice Amie Meissner reported upon returning to scale that WRITTLE did not appreciate the fast tempo set in the early stages of the event.

DIDDLEY SQUAT – Began awkwardly. Trainer Glenda Bell advised stewards that she could offer no explanation for the performance of DIDDLEY SQUAT, adding that the gelding may not have handled the firm racing surface in today’s event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination revealed muscle soreness in the left rump. Trainer Glenda Bell advised that she would report on the gelding’s condition in the days subsequent.
 
SAILOR’S RUM – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
