LATE NOTIFICATION OF RIDERS:

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer B. Williams for the late declaration of the following riders: A. Butler for MORE NORTHERLY (Race 1); D. Simmons for WITCHES WHICH (Race 4); T. Bannon for ARCATRAN (Race 7).

Race 1: - Summer Festival of Racing @ Cluden Maiden Plate – 1000 metres
1st - DUKE CELESTE 2nd - CHOI OI 3rd - MORE NORTHERLY 4th - GREENSKI

RED ‘N’ YARRA – Slow to begin.

OUT OF THE BLUE – Stood flat-footed and missed the start (2 lengths).

DUKE CELESTE – Slow to begin.

CHOI OI – For some distance in the middle stages raced fiercely and had to be continually steadied off the heels of runners in front.

ASHLEN – Passing the 500 metres laid in, despite the efforts of its rider, and hampered another runner.

GREENSKI – Passing the 500 metres was hampered by another runner, which laid in.

DENIS THE DUDE – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which hung out and could not be placed under any pressure in the straight, did not reveal any abnormalities. The trainer was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before being permitted to race again.

Race 2: - Racing @ Cluden Park Friday 2 January BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1630 metres
1st – PACHAMAMA 2nd – PRETTY VACANT 3rd - FIRMITAS 4th – BLU AXIS

BLU AXIS – When the pace was slow in the early and middle stages raced keenly and refused to settle.

FIRMITAS – Passing the 200 metres the rider accidentally dropped his whip.

Race 3: - George Doolan QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap – 1200 metres
1st – TRY ME DOL 2nd – JUST LUCKY 3rd - DRAMATIC SAGA 4th – ALPINE GOLD

RICHIE ROCKET – Shifted out at the start and bumped another runner.

SERIKOS FLYER – Bumped at the start.

MISHANI TROY – On returning to scale Jockey reported that his mount was obliged to race three wide throughout and he attributed the gelding’s poor performance to this.

Race 4: – Follow us on Instagram Class 1 Handicap – 1200 metres

FAST ANNIE – Shifted out abruptly at the start and bumped another runner.

RIVARIVA – Bumped at the start. For some distance rounding the home turn was held up for clear running when awkwardly placed on heels, then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight and over the concluding stages shifted out under pressure.

ORATRY – Crowded for room at the start. Passing the 800 metres crowded by another runner, which had been taken inwards.

UNREAL – Crowded for room at the start.

YOU’RE SO LUCKY – Crowded for room at the start. Passing the 800 metres shifted in and carried SHE BEE STINGIN’ in onto another runner.

SHE BEE STINGIN’ – Passing the 800 metres carried in onto another runner. Following the running of this race Jockey P. Cullen complained of soreness in his right ankle.

TEN TORINOS – Began awkwardly with its head up. Passing the 200 metres was held up on the heels of another runner, then was disappointed for a clear run and had to be checked when attempting a doubtful run to the inside of that runner.

WITCHES WHICH – The rider reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.


Race 5: – XXXX Gold Class 3 Plate - 1000 metres
1st – WISHFUL 2nd – RICH ‘N’ FAMOUS 3rd – KINGSTON COUNTY 4th – MY GIRL CHARLIE

MY GIRL CHARLIE – Was slow to begin.

KINGSTON COUNTY – Shifted out at the start and made contact with another runner.

COURT ACTION – At the start contacted by another runner. Passing the 200 metres had to be momentarily steadied to avoid heels.

OUR IRIS – Raced greenly in the middle stages.

TA RARA BOOM DE AY – Passing the 600 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels.

WISHFUL – Shortly after straightening for home was inclined to lay in and bumped another runner.

RICH ‘N’ FAMOUS – Bumped by another runner shortly after straightening for home.

PEG LEG – Raced wide throughout.

Race 6: – Merry Xmas From the TTC BenchMark 75 Handicap – 1000 metres
1st – MORE THAN A SONG 2nd – SIZZLELON 3rd – HE’S A LADIES MAN 4th – SEEK DE FORTUNE

MY KING OATH – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

MCCONACHY – Slow to muster speed.

HE’S A LADIES MAN – For some distance passing the 600 metres raced in restricted room and was continually buffeted between runners.

Race 7: V2C Crew Open Handicap – 1400 metres
1st – CASTLE EXPRESS 2nd – DREAM’N’IGNITE 3rd – BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND 4th – STRUMMING

STRUMMING – Was slow to begin.

MOB RULE – Raced wide throughout.

BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND – Was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.
