SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Townsville Saturday 15 July 2017:

RACE 2: TOWNSVILLE RSL CADETS KIDS CLUB CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M

Stewards today inquired into the reasons for SEEKTOWIN appearing to clip heels and blunder near the 700m, dislodging rider D. Hayse. After hearing evidence from jockey D. Hayse and steward Mr P. Lane, it was established that near the 700m SEEKTOWIN commenced to overrace and had a tendency to lay in at that point, clipping the heels of SUPER SILENT (G. Watson), blundering and dislodging its rider. As stewards could find no rider error for the incident, the matter was deemed a racing incident, no further action was taken and the inquiry was closed.

Race 1: SUCCESS NORTH QLD MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed when D. Edmonds, the rider of LUCKY CONNECTION, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against LATTIMER (S. Wilson) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the concluding stages. After hearing evidence from all connections and viewing the official race film, stewards dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings. At a subsequent inquiry D. Edmonds (LUCKY CONNECTION) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 165(3), in that he lodged a frivolous objection, and was fined the sum of $200.

SI D’AMOUR – Shifted out under hard riding over the concluding stages, forcing another runner wider. J. Stanley was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

BLUMISS – Checked near the 150m and altered course to the outside of runners. D. Edmonds, the rider of LUCKY CONNECTION, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 150m he allowed his mount to shift out under hard riding when insufficiently clear of BLUMISS, which had to be checked and shift out around the heels of LATTIMER (S. Wilson), which was taken inwards slightly when bumped on the hind quarters. Jockey Edmonds’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight on Thursday 28 June 2018 and to expire at midnight on Saturday 7 July 2018.

COMMANDING JOY – Slow to begin.

MOLONGLE GLOW – Hampered near the 150m by another runner which shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided for the horse before it would be permitted to race again.

Race 2: MIKE MILLS PHOTOGRAPHY QTIS 2YO & 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

ME AND MY DRUM – On returning to sale rider J. Trainer B. Williams who was not present at today’s meeting will be interviewed at a later date.

CEEBIZ KIT – Raced ungenerously shortly after the start for a short distance. Shifted in near the 600m, crowding a runner to its inside. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Trainer C. Lindgren was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
