Due to current covid protocols the following overweights were permitted.
Race 1: J. Stanley (Zipping Irish) +0.5kg
Race 5: G. Kliese (Blondie’s Secret) +0.5kg
Race 10: N. Day (Bold Type) +0.5kg

Race 1: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDCAP 1200 Metres
 
MISSILE THUNDER – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
 
GO GETABOY – Threw its head in the air on jumping and raced ungenerously in the early stages continuing to throw its head in the air for a short distance and as result raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
ALEXANDRA MARGARET – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have lost its lower near side incisor tooth.   
 
Race 2: BROWN BROTHERS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
As jockey S. Sheargold was dually engaged as the rider of FESSUP and IRON MASK he was replaced by C. Spry as the rider of FESSUP. S. Sheargold was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR127.
 
SEEMEINROME (NZ) – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer L. McCormack was advised she must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it being permitted to race again.

IRON MASK – Shifted in near the 1100 metres inconveniencing TALK CRAZY.
 
TALK CRAZY – Restrained near the 1100 metres when tightened for room by IRON MASK which shifted in. S. Sheargold, the rider of IRON MASK was severely reprimanded and advised to be clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
FESSUP – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
LATTERALLY – Shifted out near the 300 metres momentarily hampering PROMISE BAY. Rider M. Potgieter was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
PROMISE BAY – Momentarily hampered near the 300 metres. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of moderate heat stress. Responded well to treatment.
 
Race 3: HYGAIN CLASS 6 PLATE 1400 Metres
 
ZEPPELIN – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Shifted out near the 300 metres placing TAWHIRI in restricted room for a short distance.
 
MALAHAT – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
TAWHIRI – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 300 metres.
 
SOUTHERN SWING – Rider G. Kliese was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in a consecutive manner prior to the 100 metres. This was jockey Kliese’s first breach of this specific rule.
 
Race 4: FERGUSON ELECTRICAL OPEN HANDICAP 1609 Metres
 
BREAKDANCE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
CONQUERING JUDAS – Slow to begin.
 
COASTAL PRINCE – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
PANIAGUA – Raced three wide in the early stages until improving forward to race outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.
 
BRAINS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider S. Tomlinson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is one more than is permitted. This was jockey Tomlinson’s second breach of this specific rule.
 
 
 
Race 5: TAB QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
TYCOON CINDY – Shifted in at the start bumping BORGOV. Laid in shortly after the start.
 
BORGOV – Hampered when bumped on jumping.

ROCK THE BOX – Shifted in shortly after the start bumping BREAKWATER BOY.
 
BREAKWATER BOY – Bumped shortly after the start, became unbalanced and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
MISHANI MENACE – Slow to begin. Shifted out when placed under pressure leaving the 200 metres.

MR KOBO – Slow to begin. Laid out for the majority of the race causing the bit to become misplaced in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal bruised heels on all four legs. Trainer J. Russo was adsvised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to itys next start or trial.
 
WHITTY’S DREAM – Raced greenly shortly after start when crowded for room. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.   
 
Race 6: HAPPY BUCKS JARRED FOORD RATINGS BAND 0-65 HANDICAP 1609 Metres
 
SALSA DREAMING – Slow into stride. Rider M. Potgieter dropped his whip near the 50 metres.
 
CITY SMART – Shifted in under pressure near the 100 metres before being corrected. 
 
Race 7: VALE MONICA WODE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1300 Metres
 
VALLEY RATTLER – Slow to begin.
 
FIGURED – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PALENCIA – Slow to begin. Threw it head in the air when being restrained near the 1000 metres when the pace slackened.  
 
GUAPO – Commenced to over-race approaching the 1000 metres until allowed to improve forward and obtaining the lead near the 900 metres.
 
IT’S A PLOY – Over-raced in the middle stages and then laid out leaving the 700 metres for a short distance.
 
LORD OF LIGHT – Held up for clear running in the home straight until approaching the 100 metres.
 
SNEAKY TRUTHS – Rider S. Sheargold reported to stewards on returning to scale that the gelding had a tendency to lay out in the middle stages.
 
FIRE KING – Rider R. Wiggins was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner, being 16 times in totality which is 2 more times than is permitted. This was jockey Wiggins first breach of this specific rule.

 
 
Race 8: IN MEMORY OF NATALIE LEE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000 metres
 
SHEEZ MARVELLOUS – Shifted out at the start bumping SHEPHERD OF FIRE.
 
CALCULUS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SHEPHERD OF FIRE – Bumped on jumping. Laid in near 700 metres tightening LE RUBIS which improved into a doubtful run to its inside and had to be checked.    
 
AUXIN – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LE RUBIS – Began awkwardly and shifted out slightly having to be restrained off heels. Improved into a doubtful run to the inside of SHEPHERD OF FIRE which laid in approaching the 700 metres and was checked.
 
SUPPOSEDLY WICKWED – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BIG FLASH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.   
 
Race 9: MITAVITE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
GO DEEP – Connections advised instructions would be issued to ride the gelding more conservative due to the wide draw. This was relayed via on course broadcast and social media.Restrained on jumping to take a position closer to the inside rail and was ridden accordingly.
 
REAR VIEW MIRROR – Slow to begin.
 
TINY TIARA – Slow to begin.
 
DOUBLE DENMAN – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. 
 
NIGHT ATTIRE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.      
 
DAWN STRIKE – Raced wide form the majority of the race.
 
Race 10: GALLAGHER INSURANCE OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
BUSTERBLOCK – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. 
 
FULL RECOGNITION – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BET ON LOVE – Buffeted between runners for a short distance after the start.
 
MAQUEREAU – Restrained off heels leaving the 400 metres.
 
FUNKY MUSIC – raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.
 
EL SHADAY (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DALON – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Race 11: JOHN PETERSEN – SAY GOODBYE TO HOLLYWOOD CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1300 Metres
 
ZOUNATE – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Trainer Mr S. Royes was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier manners. 
 
DIVINE JAZZ – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping COOLMEANS. Momentarily hampered near the 300 metres by COOLMEANS which shifted out.
 
COOLMEANS (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages and steadied approaching the 1000 metres. Shifted out approaching the 300 metres.
 
DALBERGIA – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping CHOMPERS and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.  
 
CHOMPERS – Bumped on jumping. 
 
THE BEAT GOES ON – Shifted out at the start bumping SUPREME PRINCE which shifted out bumping NEBARAZ. Restrained off heels approaching the 1000 metres.   
 
NEBARAZ – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.   
 
SUPREME PRINCE – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
