Race 1 : RAY WHITE TOWNSVILLE Maiden Handicap 1400 metres

HE WILL ACHEEV - Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

BRIDEZILLA (NZ )- Jockey J. Stanley reported that although the intention was to ride conservatively, the filly was one of the best to begin so he elected to allow it to stride forward, which it did without any great effort, rather than being caught wide or having to restrain and relinquish considerable ground.

Listen Listen- Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Vista Oriental- Inconvenienced on jumping.

Tex's Girls (NZ)- Began awkwardly.

Cool Harry- Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.

Count The Beers- Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Jester Statement – Raced at Cairns 2 days previous. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.

Let's Runaway- Shifted in abruptly on jumping inconveniencing another runner.

Jesko- Shifted wider leaving the 600 metres.

Race 2: LASER CLINICS RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 Handicap 1609metres

Ask Me Tomorrow- Over raced early and when caught wide in the middle stages. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey W. D’Avila was reminded of his obligation to stop riding and straighten in these circumstances.

Springthorpe- Stewards questioned jockey J Stanley in relation to his riding of the gelding approaching the winning post. Jockey Stanley advised at that point he was receiving pressure from ASK ME TOMORROW which was shifting in from his outside and was of the opinion that he had no option other than to momentarily stop riding forward. After reviewing the race footage stewards were of the opinion that jockey J Stanley had been momentarily placed in restricted room and took no action other than to remind him of his obligation under AR131(b).

Laudeylou - Restrained passing the 1400m.

Opinions- Restrained off heels near the 1500m.

Owned Up- Raced wide in the early stages. Restrained passing the 1400m.

Race 3: RAY WHITE TOWNSVILLE RESIDENTIAL SALES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres

Kiss Me Later- Held up rounding the home turn and for a short distance into the home straight. Shifted ground under pressure over the concluding stages.

Don’t Whisper – Inconvenienced when crowded between runners passing the 150m.

Shepherd Of Fire- Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide for majority.

Gaius Julius – Resuming after lengthy spell. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.

Sarandos- Shifted out abruptly on jumping inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide for majority.

Tempo (NZ)- Slowly into stride.

Dusky Damsel- Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Teluici (NZ)- Lost off hind plate in running. Raced wide for the majority.

Call Me Maggie - Resuming after lengthy spell. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary inspection and was cleared to race. Raced ungenerously in the early stages

Zakheera- Slowly into stride.

Em Cee Gee - Raced at Cairns 2 days previous. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.

Jockey L Morrison pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount Em Cee Gee to shift in near the 800m when insufficiently clear of Mymill (S Wilson) which had to be restrained and was taken in onto the running of Dusky Damsel (B Thomson) which had to be checked. Jockey Morrison’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence August 7th, 2022 up to and including August 16th, 2022. In determining penalty Stewards considered Jockey Morrison’s forthright evidence, guilty plea, and the degree of interference, which was deemed to be in the mid range.

Jockey L Morrison pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount Em Cee Gee to shift in near the 700m when insufficiently clear of Mymill (S Wilson) which had to be checked and as a result shifted in brushing Kiss Me Later (G Kliese). Jockey Morrison’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence August 7th, 2022 up to and including August 16th, 2022, to be served concurrently with a previous suspension uncured in the same race. In determining penalty Stewards considered Jockey Morrison’s forthright evidence, guilty plea, and the degree of interference, which was deemed to be in the mid range.

Race 4: JEWELLERY BY DESIGN QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres

Boomed- Shifted out abruptly on jumping inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide for the majority.

Eagle Eye Star- Raced wide for the majority.

Gold Trickle – Raced wide for the majority.

Anniemariah- Inconvenienced soon after jumping.

Le Rubis - Buffeted between runners soon after jumping.

Dutton Branded- Laid soon after jumping inconveniencing another runner.

Antique Lace- Inconvenienced on jumping .

Ginger Mule- Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.

Vienna Cruise- Began awkwardly, shifting out inconveniencing another runner.

Following the running of this race the Stewards upgraded the track rating to Good 4.

Race 5: RAY WHITE TOWNSVILLE MAGNETIC ISLAND MILE OPEN Handicap 1609 metres

South Pacific- Began awkwardly. Shifted in near the 180 metres making contact with the inside running rail and becoming unbalanced.

Rather Salubrious- Began awkwardly.

Live And Free- Slow to begin. Bumped with another runner near the 200m.

Zouvilla- Raced wide early and middle stages.

Love Express – Over raced in the middle stages.

Dalon – Restrained off heels passing the 800m.

Gaelic - Bumped with another runner near the 200m.

Race 6: RAY WHITE TOWNSVILLE LADIES BRACELET Class 6 Handicap 1300 metres

Scent of Fear – As Jockey A Butler was to be overweight he was replaced by A Layt as the rider of the mare. Jockey Butler was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3)

Starfilly – Began very awkwardly shifting out and losing ground. Jockey L Morrison advised that after the tardy beginning she considered her best option would be to cross to the inside and attempt to get the mare to settle, whilst not covering excessive ground, however Starfilly refused to settle, racing ungenerously for the major part of the race. Jockey Morrison was also of the opinion that the mare is better suited to races over a shorter distance than that of today’s event.

Sundara- Tightened between runners on jumping. Over raced passing the 1000 metres. Unable to obtain clear running between the 300m and the 150m.

Kittykittybangbang- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted wider passing the 800 metres.

Candy Girl- Inconvenienced near the 1000 metres.

Norwegian Wood- Tightened between runners on jumping. Raced ungenerously near the 1000 metres. Shifted out under pressure near the 100 metres.

Real Empress- Shifted in on jumping.

Sheez Marvellous- Shifted out on jumping.

Spiritofthevalley- Inconvenienced near the 1000 metres.

Race 7: RAY WHITE TOWNSVILLE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OPEN Handicap 1200 metres

Brad- Jockey A. Butler, who was distressed post-race, was advised a medical clearance is required prior to his next race ride.

Love Is Blind- Inconvenienced near the 800m.

Bold Type- Shifted in momentarily near the 1100 metres tightening runners to its inside before being quickly straightened. Restrained off heels near the 800m. Raced in restricted room for some distance passing the 200m.

Palencia – Tightened between runners soon after jumping.

Family Star- Slow to begin.

Helmaz- Began awkwardly. Shifted out near the 800 metres Inconveniencing another runner.

Micawber- Began awkwardly. Tightened between runners soon after jumping. Inconvenienced near the 1100 metres.

Danawi- Shifted in on jumping making contact with another runner and becoming unbalanced. Inconvenienced near the 1100 metres.

Bondi Beau- Began awkwardly, shifting out and inconveniencing another runner. Over raced middle stages. Jockey N Day accidently dropped his whip near the 150 metres.
