GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 2 – RED BOOMSHAKALAKA – N. Day +1kg
Race 4 – SEBROSSA – S. Wilson +1kg
Race 5 – PICTON – S. Sheargold +1kg
Race 7 – LIGHTHEADEDEDNESS – C. Whiteley +1kg
 
Jockey C. Whiteley was reprimanded pursuant AR 218(4)(c) for using his mobile telephone in the jockey’s room prior to the running of race one.
 
Race 1: LADBROKES MATES MODE QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres
 
Decrypting Gold – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn before shifting to the inside of ELIE JOE to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
Elie Joe – Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
Ready Boss – Over raced during the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 350 m, when Jockey S. Wilson changed his whip to his right hand, Ready Boss became unbalanced and shifted in abruptly and as a result had to be eased off the heels of PUSS BOOTS, who simultaneously rolled out.
 
Craicaro - Hung in severely throughout. Raced greenly in the straight. Approaching the winning post, shifted in abruptly and as a result was unable to be fully tested to the line. Trainer P. Cullen was advised that a warning had been placed on the filly regarding its racing manners.
 
Puss Boots – Over raced during the early stages. In the vicinity of the 350 m, rolled out when under pressure.
 
Mishani Star – Awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride.
 
 
Race 2: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
Missile Thunder - Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Altar Boy – Shifted in on jumping away.
 
Caressing Rupert – Awkward to begin and shifted out, bumping with MR KOBO for several strides.
 
Red Boomshakalaka – Jockey N. Day was dislodged enroute to the barriers.
 
Freddy Barbarossa – Shifted in on jumping away and was momentarily hampered by ALTAR BOY.
 
Crowning Moment – Awkward to begin and contacted the barriers. Raced keenly during the early and middle stages. Approaching the 800 m, had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of RED BOOMSHAKALAKA.

Mr Kobo – Tightened on jumping away when CARESSING RUPERT shifted out and FREDDY BARBAROSSA shifted in.
 
 
 
Race 3: LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Imperium – Raced three wide for the majority.
 
Belphegor – Awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride.
 
Smart Thinker – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Holtermann - When asked to comment on today’s improved performance, trainer J. Barr stated that settling forward along with a change of gear and distance had attributed to the gelding’s improved performance in today’s event. Mr Barr’s attention was drawn to AR100 in relation to ensuring that he advised Stewards of any future change of tactics. His explanation regarding the improved performance was noted.
 
Maralah – Slow to begin.
 
Razzo – Awkward to begin and shifted in shortly after the start. In the vicinity of the 300 m, had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of KANGERONG MISS who had to be checked off another runner.
 
A Cheeky Gift – Jumped away awkwardly and shift out. Raced wide without cover during the early stages before shifting to the rail in the vicinity of the 400 m.
 
Betcha Baby – In the vicinity of the 300 m, shifted out when insufficiently clear of KANGERONG MISS, which had to be checked to avoid heels and as a result inconvenienced RAZZO who was obliged to be steadied. Jockey M. Wishart pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of KANGERONG MISS which had to be checked , then causing RAZZO to have to be steadied to avoid its heels. Jockey M. Wisharts’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight the 27th of June and to expire midnight the 9th of July.
 
Kangerong Miss – In the vicinity of the 300m had to be checked to avoid the heels of BETCHA BABY who shifted out when insufficiently clear.
 
 
Race 4: HYGAIN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1900 metres
 
Arctic Wolf – Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout the middle stages. On returning to scales, ARCTIC WOLF trampled on Jockey A. Butler’s left foot. Jockey A. Butler was checked by QAS officers and cleared to fulfill further engagements.
 
Wise Dragon - Jockey G. Kliese reported at scale that WISE DRAGON had its head turned prior to the barriers opening and blundered on jumping and as a result lost ground and was unable to take his usual forward position. Awkward to begin and hampered when SARINA shifted in and ARTIC WOLF shifted out, and as a result was slow into stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
Nemingah (NZ) – Raced ungenerously during the middle stages and became unbalanced when attempting to jump the crossing.
 
Don Arcangelo - Trainer Mr. S Massingham advised Stewards of a change of tactics today, in that they will attempt to settle further back from a wide barrier. Ridden accordingly.
 
Sarnia – Shifted in on jumping away.
 
Sebrossa – Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: FEED 2 GO Class 6 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Night Of Power (IRE) – In the vicinity of the 1350 m, shifted out taking NIGHT GUY out on to MISS SEATTLE. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Siren Rock – Shifted in on jumping away.
 
Le Vizir – Began awkwardly and shifted out. In the vicinity of the 1250 m had to be checked off the heels of RAZMENT as the pace slackened. Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
HEIRBORN(NZ) - Jockey S. Wilson was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Focus – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start when SIREN ROCK shifted in and RAZMENT was carried out by LE VIZIR. Raced wide and ungenerously during the middle stages.
 
MISS SEATTLE – In the vicinity of the 1350 m was contacted by NIGHT OF POWER (IRE) who shifted out. Raced fiercely during the early stages.
 
Armour Force – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Razment – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start when LE VIZIR shifted out and FOCUS was carried in. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied off the heels of SIREN ROCK and elected to shift out and race in a three wide position. Near the 300 m, shifted out to improve and as a result inconvenienced FOCUS who had to be steadied momentarily. Apprentice I. Teh was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
 
Night Guy – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: LADBROKES RACING CLUB BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Tempo (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping with CUDYADO.
 
Count Of Carford – Raced wide for the majority. Near the 100 m, was contacted when IMPOSING BEAU shifted out, and as a result became unbalanced and was carried out, brushing the hindquarters of NEVER CRY.
 
Imposing Beau – At the 600 m was obliged to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels. Approaching the 100 m, shifted out, bumping COUNT OF CARFORD which became unbalanced and was carried out, brushing the hindquarters of NEVER CRY.
 
Cudyado – Very awkward to begin and shifted out contacting TEMPO. Near the 200 m, shifted in, inconveniencing BONYTHON.
 
Smarty Lee – Raced wide without cover throughout,
 
Bonython – In the vicinity of the 200 m was inconvenienced when CUDYADO shifted in.
 
Starfilly – Awkward to begin.
 
NEVER CRY – Had its hindquarters contacted by COUNT OF CARFORD, who was carried out by IMPOSING BEAU.

Stronach - Jockey C. Whiteley reported at scale that his mount hung out severely throughout.
 
Pindarra's Dream – Approaching the 400 m was obliged to be steadied off the heels of STRONARCH.
 
Hervor – Severely hampered at the start and lost ground when CUDYADO shifted out as TEMPO (NZ) shifted in. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 7: MITAVITE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Hallside Hammer – Shortly after the start, shifted out, hampering BILBAO.
 
Corretto (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 900 m, was bumped but LADY DAMUS and as a result, carried out onto the hindquarters of REAL EMPRESS.
 
Dickin Medal – Slow to begin.
 
Fudging – At the the 800 m was tightened for room when KISS GOODBYE rolled in marginally, and as a result, was taken in, into the running line of BILBAO. Apprentice I. Teh was advised to exercise more care when allowing her mount to shift.
 
 
Kiss Goodbye – Raced wide during the early and middle stages. Near the 800 m, rolled in marginally, carrying FUDGING in and as a result inconvenienced BILBO who was obliged to be steadied to avoid heels. Jockey J. Murphy was advised to exercise more care when allowing his mount to shift ground in future.
 
BILBAO – Hampered on jumping by HALLSIDE HAMMER who shifted out. In the vicinity of the 800 m, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of FUDGING who was carried in by KISS GOODBYE. Jockey D. Smith was advised to exercise more care when racing in restricted room.
 
Lady Damus – Raced wide for the majority. Approaching the 900 m, shifted in and bumped CORRETTO(NZ) which was taken in onto the hindquarters of REAL EMPRESS who momentarily became unbalanced. Near the 350 m laid in and had to be straightened. Approaching the 200 m, continued to lay in, inconveniencing REAL EMPRESS who was momentarily steadied to avoid heels.
 
Millaa Miss – Slow into stride. Restrained shortly after the start to take up a position closer to the rail.
 
Real Empress – Awkward to begin.
 
Sheez Marvellous – Raced wide throughout.
 
LIGHTHEADEDNESS – In the vicinity of the 800 m was obliged to be steadied when BILBAO was checked to avoid the heels of FUDGING.
 
The Lout – Late scratching at 10:50am as there was no rider available.
