SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
Retrospective to Race 5 the track downgraded to a soft 7 following further showers.
 
As Jockey S Wilson was indisposed due to injury, he was replaced as per the Steward’s Summary.
 
As the following runners had competed at Oak Park on Saturday 1st July, they underwent a pre race veterinary examination and were cleared to start.
Race 1. Risked It.
Race 5. Go Getaboy.
 
Race 1: LADIES DAY 29TH JULY QTIS Two-Year-Old &
Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap Div 1- 1200 metres
 
Caldante- Over raced in the middle stages due to the slow pace. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to bruising to the off side eye region as a consequence of being struck with a turf clod in running.
 
Aglot- Began awkwardly. Raced wide early.
 
He's The One- Declared a late scratching at 1:08pm on Veterinary advice when the gelding broke through and under the front barrier petition. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st  MAKE IT HAPPEN 6c win, 4c place.
2nd CALDANTE 4c place
3rd LET’S RIDE  4c place.
Trainer S Quigley was advised that HE’S THE ONE which sustained a laceration on the off side wither, will require a further barrier certificate and a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
Apprentice N Seymour (He's The One) sustained minor bruising to her leg in this incident and was treated by Ambulance Officers on course.
 
All Elements- After being crossed at the 800m, the gelding commenced to over race and had to be restrained off the heels of MAKE IT HAPPEN.
 
Canelander- Approaching the 1000mcommenced to over race and had to be eased off the heels of ALL ELEMENTS. Continued to over race until the home turn.
 
Let's Ride- Raced wide throughout.
 
Risked It- Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: Townsville Cup 12th August QTIS Two-Years-Old and
Three-Years-Old Maiden Div 2-  1200 metres
 
Retrospective to race 2 the track was downgraded to a Soft 7 due to continuing rain.
 
Heistoby- The gelding sustained a minor leg skin wound on route to the course and was examined by the Veterinarian prior to the race and cleared to start . Slow to begin.
 
Not A Fat Boy- Shifted in on jumping hampering THE WALLET.
 
The Wallet- Tightened for room on jumping. Over raced and raced wide in the early stages.
 
Heroic Knight- Jumped awkwardly hampering HEISTOBY shortly after the start.
When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, rider J Murphy was of the opinion the horse seemed uncomfortable on today’s track surface and failed to stretch out in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Spring's Gift- Shifted out on jumping hampering THE WALLET.
 
Kangerong Miss- Jumped awkwardly, raced wide throughout.
 
Only One Look- Raced greenly over the final 400m.
 
Race 3: BROWN BROTHERS WINE, FOOD & COMEDY FESTIVAL 14-16
JULY Maiden Plate 1609 metres
 
Vancouver Lights – At the 300m brushed SHADOW ECLIPSE for several strides.
 
Jesko- Raced wide throughout.
 
Shadow Eclipse- Raced wide early. Brushed with VANCOUVER LIGHTS at the 300m.
 
Yamamoto- Shifted out at the 100m when placed under pressure. Amber Rock shifted out and away from Yamamoto consequently.
 
Trajic Friends – Raced three wide without cover during the early and middle stages.
 
Amber Rock – Slow to begin.
 
Petrillo (NZ) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned to the enclosure with some bruising and dirt in the near side eye that required flushing.
 
 
Race 4: MITAVITE Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Super Fast- Approaching the 800m shifted in when not fully clear of ARCHIE’S LAW. Jockey J Stanley was reprimanded and advised to allow further clearance in similar circumstances. AR131 (a).
 
Beau Rain- Shifted in at the 150m hampering WINNING SAGA. Jockey A Layt was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear.
 
Archie's Law- Approaching the 800m was eased off the heels of SUPER FAST.
 
Bells Approaching- Underwent a Veterinary inspection at the barriers and was passed fit to race. Slow into stride.
 
Fudging- Wide early and middle stages.
 
Sillman – At the 600m shifted out to improve bumping WINNING SAGA.
 
Winning Saga- At 600m was bumped on the hindquarters by SILLMAN and became unbalanced. Raced wide throughout. Eased off heels at the 150m when WINNING SAGA shifted in.
 
Belle Adele- Raced wide throughout
 
Snap Chat – Shifted in slightly passing the winning post.
 
Inner Spirit - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned to the enclosure with some bruising and dirt in the near side eye that required flushing.
 
 
Race 5: LADBROKES OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
Full Recognition- Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey N Day was fined $300 under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 8 occasions (3 more than permitted) prior to the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned to the enclosure with dirt in the eyes that required flushing.
 
 
Dio D'oro- Slow to begin. Disappointed for clear running over the concluding stages and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
He's Xceptional- Hampered on jumping.
 
Hell Of A Boy- Disappointed for clear running over the concluding stages and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
Imposing Beau- Shifted out on jumping hampering HE’S XCEPTIONAL.
 
Race 6: LADBROKES NQ CUP OPEN Handicap 1609 metres
 
Retrospective to Race 6, the track downgraded to a Heavy 8.
 
Maquereau – Late scratching at 1:47pm due to track downgrade.
 
Bold Kingston- Had to be restrained when over racing in the early stages.
 
Star Status- Slow to begin.
 
Tennessee Boy-When over racing near the 1400m, was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of SOUTHERN SWING.
 
Fast Train – When questioned regarding his riding from the 700 metres, Jockey C Whiteley stated that after passing the 700m, Jockey J Taylor on STAR STATUSmoved to a 3 wide position to his outside and when STAR STATUSwas placed under pressure it was merely holding its ground. Consequently, Jockey C Whiteley was unable to improve at that stage and was held up rounding the home turn. Jockey C Whiteley then eased the gelding wider onto the track to obtain a clear run and FAST TRAIN finished strongly. The explanation was noted.
 
Mystery 'N' Magic – Slow to begin.
 
Southern Swing - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainers T & P Rowe were advised thatSouthern Swingshall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised, or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)
 
American Saint - Jockey J Stanley advised when returning to scale that the gelding didn’t handle the track conditions.
 
 
Race 7: HYGAIN BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Razment – Bumped on jumping. Checked shortly after the start when another runner shifted out.
 
Stats – Jumped awkwardly and bumped RAZMENT. Checked shortly after the start when another runner shifted out.  Checked at the 350 metres when SACRED LEGACY was shifted out to improve when not clear.
 
Cetshwayo – Shortly after the start the gelding hung out forcing STATS out onto RAZEMENT which were both checked.. On returning to scale Jockey R Wiggins advised the gelding had a tendency to hang out throughout the event. Checked at the 350 metres when SACRED LEGACY was shifted out to improve when not clear.
 
 
Eroe - Raced wide throughout.
 
Prince Akeem – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Hervor- Raced wide throughout.
 
Day To Favour- Raced wide throughout.
 
Sacred Legacy-Apprentice Ms R Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that after passing the 350 metres she allowed her mount to shift out to improve causing the riders of STATS and CETSHWAYO to have to check their mounts. Apprentice Ms R Wilson’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 11 July 2023 and expire midnight 22 July 2023.
 
Race 8: MAGIC MILLIONS TOWNSVILLE DOLLARS QTIS
Three-Year-Old Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
Redavni- Shifted in on jumping.Raced wide from the 600m. Hung in down the home straight.
 
Monastery- Hampered at start.
 
Fodor- Slow to begin.
 
Gulf Of Lion – Checked at the start and blundered when CROWNING MOMENT jumped out and REDVANI shifted in taking MONASTERY onto Gulf Of Lion.
 
Emathion- Trainer R Chillemi was fined the sum of $200 pursuant to AR106(1) in that he presented the gelding with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
 
Brave Intent- Raced wide, tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Crowning Moment- Approaching the 1000m was restrained when over racing.
 
Baby Guinness – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have dirt in the eyes.
