GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 1: NAZORIAN – R. Wiggins +0.5kg (56.5kg)
Race 1: FORCESOME – S. Sheargold +1kg (55kg)
Race 1: ELIE JOE – M. Butler +1kg (55kg)
Race 2: BE LITTLE DARLIN’ - S. Sheargold +1kg (55kg)
Race 6: GAMETHEORY – R. Wiggins +0.5kg (56.5kg)
Race 6: TEMPO – M. Butler +1kg (55kg)
 
Race 1: LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP          1000 M
 
Nazorian – Shifted out on jumping and bumped TANOSHI.
 
Forcesome – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
Tanoshi – Bumped at the start by NAZORIAN who shifted out.
 
Elie Joe – Over raced during the early and middle stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Mini Beer – Jockey J. P. Romeo reported at scale that from the 700m to the 400m his mount was inclined to hang out.Laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
 
Race 2: FEED 2 GO MAIDEN HANDICAP     1200 M
 
Mazzaratti – Slow to begin and as a result had to be ridden positively to obtain a position outside the leader.
 
Super Twenty Three – Over raced during the early stages.
 
Hero Of The Pack – Shortly after the start, shifted out abruptly and made contact with TINY MOUNTAIN and as a result, the mare had her hindquarters turned inwards and became unbalanced for a number of strides.
 
Be Little Darlin' – In the vicinity of the 500m, was obliged to be steadied when UNPUNISHED shifted out, and as result lost considerable ground. Jockey D. Evans rider of UNPUNISHED subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that near the 500m he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out and tightened the rightful running of BE LITTLE DARLIN’ which resulted in Jockey S. Sheargold having to restrain his mount from the heels of UNPUNISHED and lose ground. Jockey D. Evan’s license to ride in races was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight the 30th of September and to expire the 7th of October. In assessing penalty, Stewards noted that Jockey D Evans was returning to race riding following an extended absence. Jockey D. Evans was advised of his rights to appeal.

 
Imperium – Slow to begin.
 
Laide – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
Madonnacan'tsing – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Toptimistic – Tightened at the start between IMPERIUM and VALENCONI.
 
Unpunished –Over raced during the early stage.  In the vicinity of the 500m, improved onto the heels of HERO OF THE PACK and shifted out and as a result BE LITTLE DARLIN’ was obliged to be steadied.
 
 
 
Race 3: CLUDEN PARK MELBOURNE CUP 7TH NOVEMBER BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP         1609 M
 
Overseas (NZ) - Trainer Mrs. G. Holt advised Stewards of a change of tactics today, in that they will attempt to have the gelding ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
Kopangi (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
Higher Love – Over raced during the early stages.
 
Choir Boy – In the vicinity of the 450m, momentarily became unbalanced and awkward in it’s action. Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m.
 
Shadow Goddess – Very slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 1300m, improved onto the heels of Do Well Legend and was obliged to shift out to a 3 wide position.
 
Prince Akeem – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Lady Of Fortune – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
Anselmo – Approaching the 900m had to be restrained momentarily when the tempo of the race slackened.
 
After the running of race 3, Stewards inquired into VIENNA RAIN presenting to the mounting yard with the incorrect saddlecloth and as a result fined Trainer R. Chillemi $200 pursuant to AR106(1).
 
Race 4: HYGAIN CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000 M
 
Following the running of race 3, Stewards upgraded the track to a Good 4 retrospectively.
 
Bakersfield – Approaching the 800m had to be restrained to gain a position with cover and proceeded to race ungenerously and bumped with WICKLOW LASS. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
Readapt – Shifted in on jumping and made heavy contact with POLARMORE PRINCESS and subsequently ricochet back and contacted BAKERSFIELD.
 
Wicklow Lass (NZ) – Shifted out on jumping and contacted POLARMORE PRINCESS. In the vicinity of the 800m was contacted by BAKERSFIELD who was racing ungenerously and as a result WIKLOW LASS’s hindquarters were turned in.
 
Guapo – Jockey R. Wiggins reported that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited to racing over shorter distances and failed to respond to riding over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
Trinity Missile – When questioned regarding the gelding’s improved performance, Trainer S. Royes stated that in his opinion a combination of a notified gear change to remove a tongue and bandages had contributed. He further stated that a jockey change along with having the geldings’ teeth addressed contributed to the improved form. Mr Royes advised that Trinity Missile had recently performed well in a jump out at Townsville and he was confident the horse would race well however he had not supported the gelding in todays event.
 
Boom Ranga – Raced three wide without cover for the majority.
 
Hyderabad – Hampered at the start.
 
Polarmore Princess – Severely hampered on jumping when WICKLOW LASS shifted out as READAPT shifted in. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be mildly lame in the near foreleg.
 
 
Race 5: PALLARENDA STAKES 28TH OCTOBER BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP          1000 M
 
Phantom Spirit – Raced wide throughout.
 
Frederick The Dane – Over raced during the early stages.
 
Knockknee – Began awkwardly. At the 200m was disappointed for a run between FREDRICK THE DANE and PHANTOM SPIRIT and was held up for clear running for the remainder of the straight.
 
Smarty Lee – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Toto – Had to be restrained on jumping away to avoid heels the heels of WANNA TWEET who shifted out abruptly. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Kiss Me Later – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.
 
Aura Gold – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Wanna Tweet – Very awkward to begin and shifted out, severely hampering TOTO. Over raced over the early and middle stages. Trainer G. Hughes was fined $200 pursuant AR106 for presenting his horse to the mounting yard in incorrect gear.
 
Neutralize – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 200m raced in restricted room for a number of strides.
 
 
Race 6: LAWRENCE & HANSON OPEN HANDICAP      1300 M
 
Yes Dream – Stewards inquired into the riding tactics adopted. When questioned Apprentice T. Fenlon stated that it was her intention to obtain cover and settle better than midfield. On jumping away Apprentice T. Fenlon advised that from a wide barrier she had difficulty obtaining cover and in her opinion the gelding was inclined to lay out and raced extremely wide and ungenerously. Trainer M. Lee confirmed these instructions and added that he will now have the gelding assessed by his veterinarian. Began awkwardly and contacted the inside of the barriers. The explanation of Trainer M Lee and Apprentice T Fenlon was noted.. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
He's Xceptional – Very awkward to begin. Over raced during the middle stages of the event.
 
Game Theory – Shifted out on jumping away.
 
Fratellino – Raced wide with cover for the majority.
 
Miss Seattle – Shifted in on jumping away. Raced wide without cover over throughout.
 
Family Star – In the vicinity of the 300m, shifted out to gain clear running, momentarily inconveniencing JAKAMA who was laying in.
 
Jakama – Severely hampered at the start when GAME THEORY shifted out and MISS SEATTLE shifted in. In the vicinity of the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced when FAMILY STAR shifted out under riding. Jockey D. Evans was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift ground under riding when insufficiently clear.
 
Count Of Carford – Hampered at the start when GAME THEORY shifted out.
 
Leonarda – Began awkwardly. Raced wide with cover for the majority.
 
 
Race 7: LADBROKE IT! CLASS 3 PLATE     1200 M
 
Fluttering – Awkward to begin.
 
Speed Legend – Shortly after the start had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SUPER FAST who shifted out.
 
Spellcatcher – Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m.
 
Crowning Moment – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Dark Rebel – Laid out severely under riding over the concluding stages. Jockey R. Wiggins was reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.
 
Private Sector – Raced wide without cover over the middle stages.
 
(EM) The Abyss (NZ) -Declared a late scratching at 3:40pm on veterinary advice after the gelding injured its head in the race day stalls. Trainer P. Minter was advised that CANASTA will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
 
 
Race 8: LADBROKES MATES MODE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP        1400 M
 
Victory For Us – Momentarily disappointed for a run rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
Impardoo – Began awkwardly.
 
Seefeld – Very awkward to begin and as result was slow into stride.

Private Cheetah – Raced wide over the early and middle stages.
 
Putsch (NZ) – Attempted to buck at the start and lost considerable ground and as a result was uncompetitive in today’s event. Stewards advised Trainer A. Molino that the gelding would now be required to trial prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.

Bells Approaching – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Zouhope – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Newitt – Approaching the 1000m commenced to over race.
