WEATHER – Fine    TRACK RATING – Soft 5 RAIL +0.5m 1,000m to Winning Post;+ 1.5 m for the remainder.

Race 1: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACEY MORRISON QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP     1000 M
 
HELL OF A BENTLEY – bumped at the start - raced wide throughout; dictated wider passing the 400 metres.
COOL MACAW – proved very difficult to load – raced greenly and went off-stride near the 400 metres when back – must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to next racing.
DUBIOUS AUTHORITY – jumped out at the start and bumped with HELL OF A BENTLEY.
HAND GRENADE – shifted out across heels passing the 400 metres and dictated HELL A BENTLEY wider on the track.
Stewards delayed the all-clear to examine the photo-finish of the race in relation to fourth place. After review, No 1 (THAT’S IT) was placed fourth.
 
Race 2: CARNIVAL TICKETS ON SALE NOW MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
MUMMIFICATION – bumped at the start.
PELSAERT (NZ) – jumped in at the start and bumped with MUMMIFICATION which was taken inward onto RISING PROPHET.
RATALOUIE – bumped at the start.
RISING PROPHET – bumped at the start.
CENTRAL PARK – jumped out at the start and made contact with RATALOUIE.
AMBER ROCK – began awkwardly and got back from the wide draw; over-raced through the middle stages.
ENUFF STOP IT – held up passing the 300 metres and near the 200 metres had to steady off the heels of PELSAERT before being taken wider to improve.
 
 
Race 3: BECOME A MEMBER TODAY OPEN HANDICAP         1400 M
 
The start of the race was delayed 4 minutes due to ACROBATIC having a plate replaced at the barriers.
ACROBATIC - jumped in at the start and bumped with CIAO BICKY which in turn was taken in on to MISS SEATTLE which was hampered.
SIREN ROCK – was eased down quickly after the finish. Rider reported the gelding to be making respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination of SIREN ROCK revealed the gelding to be suffering from respiratory distress. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance and one satisfactory trial. Trainer Ms Georgie Holt advised that the gelding would now be retired.
MISS SEATTLE – hampered at the start; held up briefly rounding the final turn and when taken into clear running was dictated wider throughout the final straight by SUCH A WHIT.
SUCH A WHIT – hung out rounding the final turn and throughout the final straight when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
CIAO BICKY – bumped at the start; over-raced briefly near the 800 metres.
 
 
Race 4: HYGAIN BM55 HANDICAP      1609 M
 
FOUR MILE LANE – raced wide rounding the first turn before being taken forward to lead.
SPECIALTIE – bumped with FROM THIS MOMENT near the 250 metres.
CONQUERING JUDAS slow to begin.
FROM THIS MOMENT – over-raced for a brief distance in the middle stages when restrained to trail; came together and bumped with SPECIATIE near the 250 metres.
MISHANI PATRIOT – slow to begin.
Stewards spoke with the Starter Mr Brady Farrell regarding there being a vacant barrier inside the widest drawn horse (FOUR MILE LANE) at dispatch. This resulting in FOUR MILE LANE starting from the incorrect barrier. The Stewards determined that FOUR MILE LANE was neither advantaged nor disadvantaged because of being incorrectly positioned. After considering all factors Mr Farrell was advised to review his pre-race starting processes and ensure that all horses start from their allocated barrier positions.   
 
Race 5: LADBROKES RACING CLUB CLASS 3 PLATE      1000 M
 
INDICATIVE – contacted the barriers on jumping; raced wide throughout.
MR KOBO – slow into stride and got back from a wide draw.
VIBURNUM – reared on jumping.
LET'S RIDE – jumped out at the start and bumped with The Sherpa, then raced wide with cover.
PRINCE OF FIRE – slow to begin then jumped inward; lay out rounding the turn.
WELL RESTED – jumped in at the start and contacted THE SHERPA.
ZI WIN – trainer Mr Trevor Rowe reported that the gelding had blood present in one nostril following the running of the race. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed ZI WIN had bled from one nostril . ZI WIN must now complete a 1,000-metre gallop in the presence of a Steward prior to next racing.
 
THE SHERPA – hampered at the start.
 
Race 6: LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1200 M
 
BEAU RAIN - slow to begin; rider accidently dropped near-side rein passing the 200 metres when attempting to straighten the gelding’s tendency to hang out.
CATALINA DREAMING – hampered at the start.
NAZORIAN - slow to begin; raced 3-wide until the 800 metres.
SWEET KISSES - ­ slow to begin; disappointed for clear running near the 350 metres and had to be steadied when NAZORIAN shifted in marginally.
YELLOWSTONE BETH – over-raced and inclined to hang out throughout.
FIND MY CALM – slow to begin.
MOON MISSILE – jumped out at the start onto CATALINA DREAMING
 
 
Race 7: LADBROKES EASY FORM BM70 HANDICAP         1200 M
 
CRYSTAL CHIEF – had to shift out across heels passing the 450 metres to improve.
OUTBACK ACTION – stood flat-footed and settled well back.
RAZMENT – had difficulty obtaining clear racing room for the majority of the final straight.
TEMPO (NZ) – struck the side of the barriers on jumping, then contacted ALMAHERO; travelled 3-wide throughout.
TINTINWIN (NZ) – slow into stride.
VIENNA RAIN – jumped away awkwardly.
HALLSIDE HAMMER – crowded and had to steady near the 1,000 metres when inside DOLLSON; held up rounding the final turn until near the 300 metres; shifted out under pressure passing the 100 metres and brushed with CRYSTAL CHIEF.
NEVER CRY – dipped shortly after jumping.
ALMAHERO – contacted the barriers on jumping and lost ground.; raced fiercely for a distance passing the 1100 metres when being restrained.
CROWNING MOMENT – began awkwardly.
Apprentice Gabrielle Semmens (DOLSON) was reprimanded under AR131a after shifting ground inward near the 1,000 metres when not clear of HALLSIDE HAMMER which was placed in restricted room and had to steady.
