Race 1: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1000M
THAT'S IT – Jumped in the air at the start and lost several lengths. When questioned on the performance, Jockey Jason Taylor stated that after losing several lengths at the start THAT’S IT regained contact with the field passing the 650 metres and travelled into the race well at that stage. Jockey Taylor added that to give the horse every chance to finish the race off he elected to wait for one finishing run rather than beginning a 3-wide move from the 500 metres given the horse had already expended energy to regain contact with the field to give the gelding every possible chance to finish off the race. Trainer Steven Royes was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.
NAPOLEON STRIKE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Gordonvale on the 24th of May and was passed fit to race.
