RACE 1: LADBROKES FORM GENIUS MAIDEN PLATE – 1400 Metres
SUPEEDO GONZALES – Slow to begin and raced very ungenerously shortly after the start for some distance and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Joshua Manzelmann was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. Trainer Manzelmann gave an undertaking to advise stewards should anything come to his attention in the near future that may have had a bearing on today’s performance.
BREECHES – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in in the early stages.
MISS COMANECI – Improved onto heels near the 1000 metres when the tempo steadied and was restrained.
THE GENERAL TALKS – Shifted its off-front plate during running.
RACE 2: LADBROKES MATES MODE POTS HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
ACROPHOBIC – Slow to begin.
FODOR – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
RACE 3: LADBROKES ODD SURGE BM70 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
SPIRIT OF GIVING – Contacted its inside barrier gate on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
SNITZAROO – Raced wide in the early stages.
GOSSIP TORQUE – Laid in throughout the final straight proving difficult to ride. Steward’s questioned apprentice Nikki Olzard in the presence of Apprentice Master Mr. Carl Spry, in regard to her riding of the gelding close to the winning post. In explanation apprentice Olzard explained GOSSIP TORQUE had laid in under pressure throughout the final straight, however close the winning post had changed stride and laid out, resulting in the mare losing momentum when being corrected. Given all circumstances apprentice Olzard’s explanation was noted.
RACE 4: HYGAIN BM65 HANDICAP – 1609 Metres
ACCLIMATISE – Began awkwardly. Checked when tightened for room
FAROOQ – Laid in and away from SAND ‘N’ POWER which was improving forward leaving the 1200 metres and shifted in momentarily crowding READY TIGER.
READY TIGER – Crowded for room leaving the 1200 metres. Disappointed for a run to the inside of MOOLOOLABA leaving the 300 metres. Jockey Ashley Butler reported on returning to scale that the gelding had hung inwards for the majority of the race and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SAND 'N' POWER – Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in under pressure near the 250 metres before being corrected. Shifted in near the 100 metres when not clear of ACCLIMATISE which was checked. Jockey Micheal McDonald admitted a resultant breach of AR 131(a) and after factoring all relevant considerations, jockey McDonald’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, with this to commence at midnight on Saturday 1st November and to expire at midnight on Saturday 8th November 2025. This suspension commencing following the expiration of a previously imposed suspension. A post-race veterinary examination of SAND ‘N’ POWER revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 5: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO BM55 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
THE HAIRDRESSER – Began awkwardly.
AIDENABET – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and was unbalanced.
SIR MAXIMUS – Bumped on jumping
OUR IMPACT – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping SIR MAXIMUS and shortly after shifted in making heavy contact with STARMEIRA.
STARMEIRA – Bumped on jumping and again bumped heavily shortly after the start and commenced to over-race in the early stages.
RACE 6: MITAVITE BM65 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
TRAPASSI – Slow to begin.
NO LOVE LOST – Bumped near the 1000 metres; was treated by the track veterinarian following the race for a minor laceration to the off-hind leg.
TO LOVE SOMEBODY – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near approaching the 1000 metres.
SINGULAR – Hung out rounding the home turn proving difficult to ride. Tightened for room near the 1000 metres and checked and as a result shifted in bumping NO LOVE LOST.
HOT PURSUIT – Shifted in near the 1,000 metres when not clear of SINGULAR which was checked and dictated inwards on to NO LOVE LOST which was bumped. Jockey Ivo Fry defended a resultant breach of AR 131(a); however, the charge was subsequently found proved. After factoring all relevant considerations, jockey Fry’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days, with this to commence at midnight on Saturday 25th October 2025 and to expire at midnight on Monday 3rd November 2025.
CANDLELIT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
MUTAFIQ – Unable to obtain clear running in the early part of the home straight.
RACE 7: PALLARENDA STAKES THIS SATURDAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
EXTRA FREE – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and was slow to begin.
QUARRY MAN (NZ) – Blundered on jumping. Hung out under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SILVER HAMMER – Shifted out at the start bumping HOT TORQUE INVEGAS.
HOT TORQUE INVEGAS – Shifted in at the start bumping SILVER HAMMER.
RONS FINEST CHOICE (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
TORQUE OF DREAMS – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
