The following horses were scratched prior to scratching time due to no rider being available:

Stewards permitted the following overweight’s:
Race 3. Sean Cormack (LIDDER VALLEY) - +0.5kg
Race 3. Shane McGovern (FORTRESS AUSTRALIA) - +1.0kg
Race 4. Graham Kliese (TAKE A DIVE) - +1.0kg

Race 7. Shane McGovern (FAITH OVER FEAR) - +1.0kg
 
Rider Ashley Butler pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR 190(3) for accepting rides when overweight in Race 1 (MIND OVER MATTER) and Race 2 (HOT TORQUE INVEGAS) and was subsequently fined $800.00. In assessing penalty, Stewards noted rider Butler’s poor record in relation to this rule along with the late notification of same and that no other rider to replace him was available, resulting in late scratching’s for both engagements.
 
Race 1: LADBROKES PUNTERS ASSIST QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD Maiden Plate 1000M

A BIT ABOUT IT – Shifted in abruptly after the start momentarily crowding ADAJ for room. Raced greenly in the middle stages. Raced four-wide without cover throughout. Hung out rounding the final turn. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MIND OVER MATTER –was declared a late scratching at 12:05PM after rider Ashley Butler was unable to make the allocated weight. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on MIND OVER MATTER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st PONTIUS 32c win, 19c place
2nd PENROD 19c place
3rd ADAJ 19c place
 
MISS THE MUSIC – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure through the early part of the home straight. Had to be steadied approaching the winning post after VAN DER WOODSEN shifted out abruptly.
 
PONTIUS – Began awkwardly momentarily unbalancing its rider. Bumped shortly after the start.
 
SECRET SCOUT – Began awkwardly.
 
SUGAR BEAR – Bumped shortly after the start and as a result was taken out onto ADAJ.
 
WHISKEY DRY – Heavily contacted shortly after the start when MISS KOYOSHI shifted out, briefly unbalancing rider Shane McGovern.
 
ADAJ – Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start when SUGAR BEAR was taken out. Raced wide throughout.
 
CONFISERIE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping bumping with PONTIUS.
 
MISS KIYOSHI – Shifted out shortly the start heavily contacting WHISKEY DRY, which resulted in rider Shane McGovern becoming unbalanced, and in turn shifted out bumping SUGAR BEAR. As a result of this incident, ROYAL PROPHECY had to be steadied off heels. Raced greenly rounding the final turn and in the final straight.
 
ROYAL PROPHECY – Steadied off heels shortly after the start. Hampered approaching the 75 metres when VAN DER WOODSEN shifted out abruptly.
 
SENSEI GIRL – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VAN DER WOODSEN – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure approaching the 75 metres hampering ROYAL PROPHECY, which was taken out onto MISS THE MUSIC, which had to be steadied. Rider Ashvin Goindasamy was advised to exercise more care when racing in similar circumstances.
 
Race 2: RACK ‘N’ STACK WAREHOUSE RATINGS BAND 0-55 Handicap 1000M

BELMONT PARK – Slow into stride.
 
MANIC LIGHT – Shifted in on jumping bumping with THEREGOS. Buffeted between runners in the early stages. Steadied away from heels leaving the 300 metres to gain clear running.
 
HELL OF A BENTLEY – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ALL TOO VEGAS – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide with cover in the middle stages.  
 
THEREGOS – Bumped on jumping.
 
COPPABELLA ROAD – Shifted in on jumping bumping with ALL TOO VEGAS.
 
HAPHAZARD – Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
HOT TORQUE INVEGAS – HOT TORQUE INVEGAS was declared a late scratching at 12:05PM after rider Ashley Butler was unable to make the allocated weight.
 
KWIK AS HELL – Shifted out under pressure nearing the 150 metres bumping with MISTER TIA on two occasions.
 
MISTER TIA – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped on two occasions by KWIK AS HELL when that runner shifted out.
 
HOLD MY HALO – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 3: GTL ELECTRICAL AND SOLAR OPEN Handicap 1000M
 
MOLONGLE SURPRISE – Shifted out on jumping hampering FAMILY STAR, which was taken out onto YUKAN ROSE, which was hampered. Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight, momentarily hampering HAND GRENADE passing the 200 metres.
 
MR METRICS – MR METRICS was declared a late scratching at 2:32pm after refusing to load into the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on MR METRICS be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st SWEET KISSES 10c win, 9c place
2nd FAMILY STAR 13c place
3rd HAND GRENADE 13c place
 
Trainer Shryn Royes was advised that MR METRICS must obtain a further barrier certificate on two consecutive occasions prior to racing again.
 
LIDDER VALLEY – Held up for clear racing room through the early part of the home straight.
 
SWEET KISSES – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
FAMILY STAR – Hampered on jumping when MOLONGLE SURPRISE shifted out. Raced wide with cover in the middle stages.
 
YUKAN ROSE – Hampered on jumping between MOLONGLE SURPRISE and FORTRESS AUSTRALIA which both shifted ground. Raced wide without cover throughout.

RECRUITER – Hung in under pressure in the home straight resulting in rider Jackson Murphy being unable to fully test his mount to the finish. Inconvenienced approaching the 50 metres when HAND GRENADE shifted out.
 
FORTRESS AUSTRALIA – Shifted in on jumping hampering YUKAN ROSE.
 
KING’S GOLD – Bounded on jumping.
 
HAND GRENADE – Began awkwardly. Momentarily hampered passing the 200 metres when MOLONGLE SURPRISE shifted ground. Shifted out abruptly approaching the 50 metres inconveniencing RECRUITER. Rider Wanderson D’Avila was advised to exercise care when racing in similar circumstances.
 
Following the running of Race 3, the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 4: BEATCO Maiden Handicap 1200M

MALBEC MAN – Contacted the side of the barriers on jumping and became unbalanced, shifting out bumping with NATIONAL GOAL.
 
SMOKIN REELS – Was treated by the on-course veterinarian following the race for lacerations to the off-hind leg.
 
BETTER BREAKOUT – Began awkwardly.
 
NATIONAL GOAL – Bumped on jumping.              
 
WIRED FOR FUN – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
RED CITY SUN – Raced ungenerously for a distance rounding the first turn. Contacted the running rail making the home turn and became unbalanced, losing ground.
 
TAKE A DIVE – Lost its off-hind plate during the event.
 
VIVA LA JUICY – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
ARIK LAD – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled bilaterally for the first occasion Trainer Steven Royes was advised ARIK LAD would be stood down from racing under the provisions of AR79(4).
 
Race 5: WALTEC BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200M
 
ALL ENGLAND – Shifted in on jumping bumping with OUR IMPACT.  Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
REGGIE’S BOY – Shifted in on jumping bumping with ALL ENGLAND. Shortly after, became crowded for room when KOBAYASTAR shifted in.
 
FROM THIS MOMENT – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SATURDAY VIBES – SATURDAY VIBES was declared a late scratching at 3:51PM after refusing to load into the barriers.  Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on SATURDAY VIBES be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st OUR IMPACT 10c win, 11c place
2nd FROM THIS MOMENT 14c place
3rd PRINCE AKEEM 13c place
 
Trainer Stephen Massingham was advised that SATURDAY VIBES must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
THE KAMIKAZE – Over-raced in the early stages when leading.
 
PRINCE AKEEM – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
YOSEMITE FALLS – Tightened for room shortly after the start.                                                                                                
 
ULTIMATE – Trainer Tony Comerford advised the Stewards that it would be the intention to ride ULTIMATE further back if circumstances permit: ridden accordingly. Contacted the side of the barriers on jumping.  Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
KOBAYASTAR – Shifted in shortly after the start crowding REGGIE’S BOY.
 
OUR IMPACT – Shifted out on jumping bumping with ALL ENGLAND. Consequently, shifted in tightening YOSEMITE FALLS. Shifted in abruptly approaching the winning post.
 
Race 6: ANDREW’S CUSTOM CABINETS Class 1 Handicap 1609M

HOT SUMMER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and was unable to improve until passing the 200 metres.
 
NOT WORTH IT – Over-raced for a short distance leaving the 800 metres when leading. Shifted in nearing the 200 metres when rider Jackson Murphy changed whip hands.
 
KHAMIS – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Bumped with SUPEEDO GONZALES leaving the 150 metres.
 
GARINION RIGH – Raced keenly in the back straight.
 
STARMEIRA – Began very awkwardly then raced ungenerously for a considerable distance up to a point nearing the 800 metres. Trainer Gavin Kinlyside was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.
 
SHEZ LETHAL – Slow to begin and when doing so began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the back straight. Disappointed for a run approaching the 200 metres when NOT WORTH IT shifted in whilst rider Jackson Murphy attempted to transfer his whip to his left hand, which had became momentarily entangled with his left rein.
 
THE PROPHECY – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
COLONEL PARKER – Raced keenly in the back straight. Had to be steadied away from the heels of GARINION RIGH on several occasions in the back straight, and as a result had to be shifted wider leaving the 1000 metres.  
 
SUPEEDO GONZALES – Slow to begin. Shifted wider to improve passing 1,300 metres and raced wide thereafter. Bumped with KHAMIS leaving the 150 metres.
 
Race 7: TOWNSVILLE EARTH MOVING Class 4 Handicap 1300M

RELEASE LE MISSILE – Slow to begin.
 
CANDLELIT – Laid in through the early part of the home straight.
 
KEEP ON RUNNING – Began awkwardly then shifted out tightening FAITH OVER FEAR.
 
HOT PURSUIT – Began awkwardly.
 
MR DAMAGE – Shifted in on jumping tightening FAITH OVER FEAR.
 
ARGUABLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
MAGIC GAME – Stood flat-footed at the start, losing ground.
 
FALLGUY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
HOLY CROWN – Raced wide throughout.
 
LET’S RIDE – Raced wide throughout.
 
FAITH OVER FEAR – Tightened for room at the start.
