Race 1 WRC TICKETS ON SALE NOW! MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1000 Metres
Following the receipt of further information regarding the bleeding episode suffered by TYRANNICAL (NZ), Stewards convened an inquiry into the matter on Thursday 19th March 2026 where Trainer Joshua Manzelmann was advised that Stewards were satisfied the gelding had bled from both nostrils. As this represented the second occasion on which TYRANNICAL (NZ) had bled from both nostrils, Mr Manzelmann was informed that, pursuant to AR79(6), the gelding is ineligible to start in any race with immediate effect.

2. Apprentice Fiona Sandkhul did not attend the meeting after being injured after the closing of declarations.
3. Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into an incorrect horse being presented for heat three of Official Trials that were conducted following today’s race meeting.
RACE 1: LADBROKES FORM GENIUS MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1609 M
COVENTRY LANE – slow to begin, shifted out when laying out passing the 1200 metres hampering FROSTY QUEEN. Rider Aidan Holt was reminded of his obligations when in similar circumstances. When questioned regarding the run of COVENTRY LANE rider Holt could offer no excuses. Trainer Jeffrey Caught advised that COVENTRY LANE would now be spelled.
SAN JUAN – slow into stride.
STELLAR LEGEND – lay in and contacted the running rail near the 1000 metres; lay in throughout the final straight.
READY AND BETTA – delayed the start and proving difficult to load. Trainer Lachie Manzelmann was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
FROSTY QUEEN – hampered near the 200 metres
KING CANUTE – over-raced early and middle stages and got its head up when being restrained to trail passing the 1,2 00 metres.
RACE 2: 2YO CLASSIC 6TH JUNE QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 M
ASK ME EDI shifted in on jumping making heavy contact with Divine Soul, which became unbalanced and in turn shifted in and inconvenienced runners to its inside.
BOOMIOUS –travelled wide cover throughout; lay in over the concluding stages.
DIVINE SOUL – bumped heavily at the start and shifted in inconveniencing runners to its inside. Travelled wide without cover throughout.
RAAR – after beginning awkwardly was then bumped heavily by SIXTY NINE GRANGE and then tightened for room by DIVINE SOUL which shifted in, settling well back; bumped rounding the final turn.
SIXTY NINE GRANGE – shifted out on jumping making heavy contact with RAAR.
GOOD ONE CECIL – commenced to hang out leaving the 700 metres and ran very wide losing its chance. Trainer Joshua Manzelmann was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to next racing; A post-race swab sample was taken from GOOD ONE CECIL.
GOLDEN GLAZE – slow to begin; lay out rounding the final turn and bumped RAAR.
RACE 3: MITAVITE MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1200 M
SHE'S A BEAUTY – raced greenly over the concluding stages.
ARANCIA – slow to begin.
ELEGANT VENUS – slow to begin; over-raced in the middle stages.
ROYAL EDITION – travelled wide for the majority.
JOT GIRL – slow into stride.
AMBER AFFAIR – slow into stride; held up rounding the final turn and was unable to find clear running until passing the 150 metres.
OSCAR BOOIE – travelled wide without cover throughout.
PRINCESS SHANGHAI – held up for clear running approaching and rounding the final turn. Checked when attempting to improve into a run to the inside of SHADYVALE AL passing the 200 metres and lost ground.
SHADYVALE AL – Shifted in under riding passing the 200 metres resulting in PRINCESS SHANGHAI being tightened for room and being checked. Rider Ivo Fry admitted a resultant breach of AR131(a) and after penalty considerations rider Fry’s licence to ride in races was suspended from the close of racing today up to and including racing on Thursday 9th April 2026.
RACE 4: LADBROKES PUNTER ASSIST RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1000 M
MAXIMUM POWER – travelled wide without cover throughout; lay in leaving the 300 metres bumping with GALBALAN.
RAMIUS - ducked out leaving the 250 metres forcing LOWLANDS and out into the line of GALBALAN which was checked, GALBALAN in consequence shifted out bumping with MAXIMUM POWER which was taken off its line and forced wider. STORM CAPITAL, which was commencing its finishing run outside the heels of MAXIMUM POWER was unbalanced and ran out hampering LITTLE IFFY with TALONS being forced wider. RAMIUS continued to lay out for the remainder, having to be continually straightened.
CIFONELLI – slow to begin.
TALONS – hampered near the 200 metres; travelled wide for the majority.
GALBALAN – over-raced in the early and middle stages; checked approaching the 200 metres and
THAT'S IT – slow into stride; travelled wide throughout with no cover.
STORM CAPITAL –shifted out near the 200 metres when awkwardly near the heels of MAXIMUM POWER resulting in LITTLE IFFY being hampered and resultantly TALONS being forced wider. Apprentice McKenzie Apel accidentally dropped her whip near the 100 metres. Upon returning to the tie-up stalls STORM CAPITAL was observed to be displaying lameness in the near fore-knee region. Trainer Ms. Georgie Holt advised that the gelding would undergo further assessment following today’s meeting, with the outcome to be advised to the Stewards. Ms. Holt was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to STORM CAPITAL next racing.
LITTLE IFFY – hampered near the 200 metres when STORM CAPITAL shifted out, LITTLE IFFY then in turn shifted out hampering TALONS.
RACE 5: HYGAIN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200M
NOTTINGTON PRINCE – briefly inconvenienced near the 150 metres.
CAROHVIC – shifted out near the 1,100 metres hampering MISTER TIA; lay in and away from BURLINGTON ARCADE leaving the 150 metres briefly inconveniencing NOTTINGTON PRINCE
GOLD CLASSIC – raced wide for the majority. Rider Lacey Morrison reported that the filly had a tendency to lay in throughout.
TARONG – slow to begin.
VALUBIOUS – slow into stride.
MISTER TIA briefly hampered near 1100 metres.
PROPERLEIGH – travelled 3-wide without cover for the majority.
RACE 6: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1200 M
JOURNALISM – slow to begin.
RUSSIAN MINT – over-raced in the early stages.
RUBUNKAR – shifted in near the 200 metres and brushed the running rail for a short distance.
STRATHCONA – began awkwardly; travelled 3-wide without cover for the majority.
WONDERLAND STAR – slow to begin.
RACE 7: LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400 M
MISTERKIPCHOGE (NZ) – began awkwardly and lost ground.
RELEASE LE MISSILE – slow to begin and then hampered.
CARPACCIO – compounded over the final 400 metres and finished well back. When questioned, rider Sean Cormack reported that the gelding had travelled comfortably until reaching the 400 metres, however when placed under pressure had failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
MOOLOOLABA (NZ) – raced wide without cover throughout.
TYMON – slow to begin.
OH SO THRILLING – slow to begin.
