GENERAL
 
Latitude was afforded when assessing the performances of runners that appeared not to appreciate racing through the significant kickback and dust experienced during today’s meeting.
 
 
RACE 1: ROBERT O’SULLIVAN FAMILY BENCHMARK 60800 METRES
 
ELIE JOE – laid out rounding the final turn.
WITHOUT – travelled wide throughout; inclined to lay in through the final straight and passing the 100 metres shifted in and had to be straightened.
MISSION RIDGE – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to race after racing at Emerald on Tuesday 22nd September 2026; fractious and reluctant to approach the barriers. Declared a late scratching at 1:35pm after refusing to load. All monies invested on MISSION RIDGE were ordered to be refunded, with deductions applicable to successful wagers placed prior to 1:35pm based on the face value of each ticket.
1st STELLA BOO 5 cents win / 7 cents place
2nd QUARRY MAN (NZ) 7 cents place.
 
 
RACE 2: BURNETT CARRYING / HEWITT PASTORAL 800 METRES

CHEERS HONEY – Got well back in the early and middle stages and passing the 600 metres raced wider on the track. Apprentice Tom Orr reported that the mare had been uncomfortable racing through the dust and kickback, and had attempted to run wider to avoid the unfavourable racing conditions.
SNAPPEN – got back after the start and thereafter lost contact with the field, with rider Matthew Gray not persevering over the final 400 metres with the gelding be distanced at the finish. Rider Gray reported that SNAPPEN had resented the kickback and dust throughout and refused to stretch out at any stage; given all circumstances a warning was placed on the racing performance of SNAPPEN.
OUR LAST CHANCE – laid out rounding the final turn.
HOT LUCI – forced wider rounding the final turn.
 
RACE 3:BULLIWALLAH CLASS B HANDICAP1,100 METRES
 
AGNAR – slow into stride; rider Todd Banks reported that the gelding had hung out throughout.
ROCKABILLY – weakened from the 500 metres and finished back; returned to the enclosure displaying lameness of the off-foreleg. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained an injury in the suspensory region. ROCKABILLY was treated by the track veterinarian prior to being transported from the meeting. Trainer Ms. Glenda Bell was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to ROCKABILLY next racing.
 
RACE 4: MT DOUGLAS LADIES BRACELET OPEN HANDICAP1,100 METRES
 
VIBURNUM – over-raced in the early and middle stages.
JUST SUPER – travelled wide from the 600 metres.
WRITTLE – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to run after racing at Emerald on Tuesday 22nd September 2026
 
RACE 5: DISNEY STREAKS QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP1,570 METRES
 
MY SPY – laid out shortly after leaving the barriers and brushed with KAYLEEN’S PROFIT; laid out rounding the turn near the 1200 metres.
THREE GONGS – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to run after racing at Emerald on Tuesday 22nd September 2026; laid in throughout the final straight and had to be corrected.
KAYLEEN’S PROFIT – brushed with MY SPY shortly after the start.
