Race 1: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1050M
DRIVING WHEELS – Made contact with another runner on jumping away. Placed in restricted room near the 950m and was forced to check to avoid the heels of another runner after being taken in by COLD AS ICE, which itself was placed in restricted room when STREET FEVER shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice L. Dittman (STREET FEVER) was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident.
RAHEEBS KINGDOM – Began awkwardly.
TRIPLE JEOPARDY – When questioned as to the disappointing performance, jockey Bogenhuber advised that after beginning reasonably well she was able to obtain a forward position on the colt tonight where it travelled comfortably throughout the event. She added that when placed under pressure approaching the home turn it failed to respond as she had anticipated and proved disappointing in the home straight. Jockey Bogenhuber further added that whilst the horse pulled up well following the event, in her opinion it may be suited by the addition of a tongue tie for its next start. Trainer M. Nolan also expressed disappointment with the performance of the horse today, given that its work leading up to the race had been quite good. He added that based on the comments of jockey Bogenhuber he would now add a tongue tie to the horse’s gear prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly distressed.
COLD AS ICE – Made contact with another runner on jumping away. Tightened for room and eased leaving the 900m when runners either side shifted ground.
KHE SANH – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced in restricted room near the 400m and bumped another runner on a number of occasions.

BARBUDA – Bumped another runner near the 900m.
BALINESE BOY – Hampered at the start and lost ground. Steadied when disappointed for a run approaching the 100m.
Race 3: CHARLTON TYRE SERVICE C,G&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1050M

ROMP IT IN – Tightened for room and eased approaching the 800m when racing to the inside of SNIPPET EXPRESS, which shifted in when not fully clear. T. Banks (SNIPPET EXPRESS) was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
TENT HARMONY – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
MAJOR BLOT – On return to scale apprentice R. Payne reported that her mount hung out and as a result raced wide throughout the event and proved difficult to ride at stages. Trainer P. Moncrieff will be advised that a warning will be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
MISTER LOOSEEL – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
DAYTIME HERO – Attempted to buck in the early stages of the event. Trainer B. Robinson’s representative was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners. Forced to steady to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m.
Race 4: CRACKER PRINT & PAPER F&M CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1050M
MISS TWIN PEAKS – When questioned as to the seemingly disappointing performance, apprentice E. Ljung advised that the mare began well and obtained a forward position and travelled strongly through the event, however when placed under pressure at a point approaching the home turn, failed to run on as she had expected. Apprentice Ljung added that based on the manner in which the horse recovered following the event she would expect it to derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s run. Trainer J. Gregory agreed that the mare would derive a significant fitness benefit from tonight’s run as it was racing first up for over 12 months tonight and as such he was not entirely disappointed with the performance. He added that it is his intention to race the mare in an event over a similar distance next run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
VIRGINIA PLAIN – Jockey R. Goltz could offer no explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance other than that the horse may derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s event, given that it was first up from a spell tonight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
GALWAY TOWN – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
MAHOE LASS – Began awkwardly.
MYSTIC MEDUSA – Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200M

MAXENTIUS – Raced in restricted room for some distance leaving the 800m, became unbalanced and lost some ground.
SON OF SAGA – On return to scale jockey R. Goltz reported that it was his intention to position his mount in a forward of midfield position, however the gelding failed to muster any early speed and as a result despite his urgings settled at the rear of the field. He added that the gelding never travelled strongly throughout the event, however when shifted wider on the track in the home straight made some late ground and finished the race off well.
HARADIFY – Improved on to heels near the 900m and shifted wider on the track.
MAGIC DRAGON – Improved on to heels near the 900m and shifted wider on the track.
STEWBALL – Improved on to heels near the 900m and shifted wider on the track.
Race 7: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS MAIDEN PLATE – 1625M
JOSHUA’S MIGHT – Stewards questioned B. Evans in relation to his tactics from the 1200m whereby he elected to shift to a three wide position. Of concern to Stewards was whether there was an opportunity to maintain a trailing position behind FLASH MAGIC, one of the favoured runners in the event, in a position closer to the rails. Jockey Evans advised Stewards that when he has ridden the horse previously it has possessed a very short sprint and therefore in his opinion needs to be improved into the race a considerable distance from the finish. Jockey Evans added that for this reason he elected to shift wider on the track near the 1200m to a three wide position, however he advised that he did obtain cover as a result. Jockey Evans further advised that he was not concerned with being forced to cover extra ground during the event given the manner in which the track had played during the meeting in that in his opinion the superior going was wider on the track. Stewards noted the explanation.
FLASH MAGIC – Bumped another runner near the 200m.
FLYING LUCKY – Bumped another runner near the 200m.
PINK CHAPERONE – Laid in during the middle stages of the event and proved difficult to ride.
