From Gatton, Race 1 – 29.10.15

Trainer S. Iverson advised that Anyoakee had pulled up with an elevated white blood cell count and was undergoing treatment.

Race 1: Simon Home Timber & Hardware Class 3 Plate - 1200

JUST AS LOYAL – Slow to begin.

RHIATENN ROAD – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.

EXCITING DOLL – Laid out rounding the home turn.

MASSIVE ATTACK – Laid out rounding the home turn.


Race 2: Light Weight Cladding BM75 H'cap – 1050m

TORERO – Laid in for the majority of the event.

ROYAL SHOUT – On return to scale, jockey L. Attard advised stewards that the gelding had a tendency to hang out throughout the event and proved difficult to ride out over the concluding stages and shifted wider on the track. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer Mr T. Sears advised that in light of the disappointing performance, the horse will now be retired from racing. Stewards nevertheless advised that the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily and a veterinary clearance provided, including the results of an endoscopic examination, should the gelding return to racing again.

MISS MEGA HERZ – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, apprentice B. Derbyshire advised that the mare had to work hard to obtain her customary leading position however overraced during the early and middle stages of the event, which she felt was detrimental to its chances over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards will interview trainer P. Sexton, who was absent from tonight’s meeting, at a later date.


Race 3: Hyne Timber Class 2 H'cap – 1050m

JAI’S LUCK – Dipped on jumping away and then shortly after made contact with MR GOOD LOOKING. Raced wide throughout.

MR GOOD LOOKING – Bumped shortly after the start. Jockey S. Bogenhuber was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the horse. She advised her mount settled in a rearward position, as per her pre-race instructions, however, in her opinion, the gelding travelled only fairly throughout the event. Jockey Bogenhuber went on to say that when asked to improve into the race from the 500m, the gelding ran on only fairly and, in her opinion, proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have filling in the off fore fetlock however no lameness was evident. Trainer’s representative S. Clarke undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality that comes to light in the days following which may have had a bearing on the performance.

THAT’S JERRY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

PERFECTLY SWEET - Stewards questioned apprentice E. Ljung regarding the performance of the filly. She advised that after being ridden along in the early stages she was able to obtain a good position, however only travelled fairly throughout. She added that from the 500m her mount commenced to yield ground but ran on fairly in the home straight and, in her opinion, performed disappointingly. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer B. Currie was advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided to stewards, including the results of an ECG, together with a satisfactory trial prior to its next race start.

Race 4: Hume Doors & Timber Class H'cap – 1300m

DAZZLING SHIRAZ – Began awkwardly.

TREASURES SECRET – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.

CELTIC CAT – Raced wide throughout.

HASHTAG YOLO – Raced wide throughout.


Race 5: Bremick Fasteners QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1100m

RAW DEAL – Began awkwardly and made contact with the hind quarters of another runner.

BROWN CAVIAR – Bumped at the start.

GHOST ROCK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

KISS FOR GRAN – On return to scale apprentice T. Brooker reported that her mount raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn.

LADY DICTATOR – Laid out rounding the home turn.

SIENNA SON – Momentarily held up approaching the 400m.

NO MORE MISTAKES – Slow into stride. Tightened for room and made contact with the running rail and checked near the 900m when taken in by BROWN CAVIAR, which itself was taken in by LADY DICTATOR, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

CALL ME RINGO – Checked to avoid heels near the 900m.


Race 6: Seven News Class 4 H'cap – 1625m

PRINCE OF PEACE – The saddle shifted forward shortly after the start, placing rider B. Derbyshire at a severe disadvantage for the remainder of the event. During the running of the race it was observed that a small amount of packing had been dislodged from under the saddle as a result of the saddle shifting forward. Subsequently, B. Derbyshire on return to scale, when weighed by stewards, weighed in at her allotted weight and therefore correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

HOT TESTA – Slow to begin.

GOLD DEAL – Slow to begin.

SHERBET – Began awkwardly.

WOW FACTOR – Made the turn near the 1300m wide.

HIP TO BE SQUARE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 7: Ray White Toowoomba Range Maiden H'cap - 1200m

ELUSIVE LEGACY – Slow to begin. Apprentice J. Oliver was reminded of his obligations in regards to using his whip on a horse out of contention.

THE HURRICANE – Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner shortly after the start. Jockey K. Yoshida was reminded of his obligations in regards to using his whip on a horse out of contention.

DEPUTY PECK – Commenced to overrace after being crossed near the 900m and raced ungenerously for some distance, and after passing the 800m was forced to shift out to a 3-wide position where the horse raced for the remainder of the race. Jockey N. Evans was reprimanded for using his whip in the forehand manner in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

ROCK ON IVY – Held up for a short distance approaching the home turn.

BOAT RACE – Tightened for room and checked approaching the 1000m after being taken in by THE HURRICANE, which in turn was taken in by SHIBA SAKURA, which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Forced wider on the track leaving the 800m by another runner and raced wide from that point.

CASPERICCINO - Jockey L. Tilley was reminded of his obligations in regards to using his whip on a horse out of contention.

DUBLIN GIRL - Jockey M. Schrapel was reminded of his obligations in regards to using his whip on a horse out of contention.

ZEENA THE GODDESS - Apprentice E. Ljung was reminded of her obligations in regards to using her whip on a horse out of contention.
