GENERAL
 
Urine samples were taken from a number of riders in attendance at tonight’s meeting.
 
Race 1: FURNEYS STOCK FEEDS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1300 metres
 
As Jockey R Plumb was unable to fulfill his engagement on ROYAL WAREFARE due to failing to arrive on course in sufficient time, he was subsequently replaced on the gelding by Jockey R Goltz. Jockey R Plumb was issued a $100 fine under AR127.
 
TRAIL OF GLORY – Slow into stride. Held up for a considerable distance approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
TEARS OF LOVE – Attempted to buck for a short distance shortly after the start. Trainer M Kropp was advised that a warning would be issued against the geldings racing manners.
 
HIDDEN BUDGET – Hung out for a short distance near the 500m. Near the 300m momentarily steadied from heels when commencing to weaken.
 
Race 2: HARVEY NORMAN COMMERCIAL Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
HENLEY MISS – After making contact with the enclosure fence during the preliminary, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arriving at the barrier and was subsequently passed fit to start. Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
INCOMPARABLE – Began awkwardly and was then buffered shortly after the start.
 
MISSLLEERS – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
DANCES WITH TIME – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: GERRY BROWN'S SHELVING AND STORAGE BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
HARRYANDTHETIGER – As the gelding had not raced for an excess of a 12-month period a pre-race veterinary examination was conducted and subsequently the gelding was passed fit to start. Raced keenly during the middle stages.
 
KIRRA LASS – Reared as the start was affected and as a consequence lost valuable ground. Trainer L Hatch was advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS – Raced keenly during the middle stages. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages of the event.
 
Race 4: TOOWOOMBA PLASTICS Maiden Handicap 1625 metres
 
ENJOY THE SHOW – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Rounding the turn near the 1300m raced with its head in the air when awkwardly placed at heels.
 
MATILDA GENE – Hung out rounding the turn near the 1300m. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
BLOOMIN' KIND – A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which tailed off failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer S Thomas was advised that in light of the performance of the mare in tonight’s event, its nomination would now be refused at TAB meetings until such time as it establishes form at non-TAB venues.
 
LEICABLE – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Momentarily held up for a short distance near the 500m.
 
OFF COURSE – Held up when awkwardly placed at heels for a considerable distance passing the 200m.
 
SET BEAT – Near the 600m improved onto heels and was steadied. Momentarily held up for a short distance near the 500m. Improved onto heels leaving the 300m and as a result was forced to shift to the inside to secure clear running. Laid in in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 5: HIGHFIELDS BUILDER QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FIVE OXFORD – Began awkwardly shifting wider on the track.
 
GIRL CRUSH – Bumped at the start.
 
LEADBURN NICCI – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
LUNA AMANTE – Began only fairly and was then tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
THAT'S MY OPINION - Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
WALLY'S DREAM – Which began awkwardly, was bumped at the start. Steadied from heels near the 700m. Made contact with the running rail near the 700m and again approaching the 600m.
 
WINTER RAIN – As a result of beginning well settled further forward than anticipated.
 
Race 6: CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
JIMBO JONES – Tightened for room on jumping. Raced greenly throughout.
 
DAZZLING FLASH – After being dislodged on pulling up, Apprentice Wilson-Taylor returned to the mounting yard free of injury and was passed fit to fulfill the remainder of his engagements.
 
IMMEDIATE RESPONSE – Raced greenly throughout.
 
STAR TWINKLE – Began awkwardly shifting wider on the track. Raced wide without cover during the early and middle stages.
 
STIRLING DIVA – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
FORCEFUL MATILDA – Tightened for room on jumping. Raced greenly throughout.
 
Race 7: KNIGHTS COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY Class 2 Plate 1850 metres
 
I'M CALLIN' DIBS – Jockey R. Plumb was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m on 7 occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer M. Currie was advised that as this was the first occasion the gelding had bled it would be barred from racing for a period of three months followed by a satisfactory 1000m gallop.
 
MUFASTA – Steadied from heels leaving the 1400m.
 
SAYS WHO – After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1200m.
 
THE MINIVAN – Slow to begin. Held up for a considerable distance approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
KIRRO – Steadied from heels approaching the 1300m.
 
STAR CENTRE – After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a leading position near the 1300m.
