GENERAL
 
Stewards granted permission to the following Jockeys to ride overweight due to current restrictions.
 
Race 2 – CONQUER MEE - Chris Meehan plus 1kg at 55kg.
Race 4 – SPURIOUS - Chris Meehan plus 1kg at 55kg.
Race 6 – THE ANGEL’S KISS - Chris Meehan plus 1kg at 55kg.
Race 8 – TAKE THE LEAD – Les Tilley plus .5kg at 56.5kg.
Race 8 – PATTI WAGON – Beau-Dene Appo plus .5kg at 54.5kg
 
Race 1:BPI TOOWOOMBA RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1210 metres
 
COMFORTABLY NUMB – Buffeted between runners on jumping.  Laid in passing the 200m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from one nostril. Trainer T Dougall was advised that the gelding would be required to perform a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming.
 
RIP CITY – Approaching the 100m when under pressure laid in and was steadied from the heels of SEE FOR YOURSELF.
 
OUR ROCKIN' – Change of tactics, to be ridden with cover if possible. Ridden accordingly.  Began awkwardly shifted out. Shortly after the start shifted in and away from COMFORTABLY NUMB. Raced in restricted room near the 800m and was buffeted.
 
SEE FOR YOURSELF - Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
LITTLE NATURAL –Shortly after the start bumped heavily with DIVINE AUTHORITY which was forced inwards by OUR ROCKIN’ and lost ground. Leaving the 200m was checked by its rider when disappointed for a run to the inside of COMFORTABLY NUMB which laid in.
 
DIVINE AUTHORITY – After making heavy contact with the parade ring fence with its off-hind leg, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and cleared to start. Shortly after the start bumped by OUR ROCKIN’ which shifted in. Held up rounding the home turn and early part of the home straight. Leaving the 300m accidentally struck across the head by another rider’s whip.
 
DRAGON PURSUIT – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
RUSSIAN ROMEO – Passing the 200m steadied from the heels of DRAGON PURSUIT which shifted out.  Jockey C Meehan advised to exercise more care in future under similar circumstances.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT Class 3 Handicap 1300 metres
 
RAPIDO GRIS – As B Pengelly failed to arrive by the prescribed time from another venue, replaced by M Gray. Began awkwardly shifted in.
 
AND OVER AGAIN – Slow to begin. Leaving the 200m, when attempting to secure clear running and laying in, became awkwardly placed at the heels of BELLICOSE. Jockey L Tilley reported post-race that the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit. Trainer G Arnold advised Stewards that it would be his likely intention to race AND OVER AGAIN in a tongue tie at future starts.
 
PURE PURGATORY – Laid out near the 200m.
 
TREASURE OF GOLD – Laid in in the straight.
 
CONQUER MEE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly early. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: GREENMOUNT HOTEL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres
 
LINE UP – Performed below market expectations. A post-race Veterinary examination could find no apparent abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance jockey Pengelly stated that the mare struggled to maintain an early position due to the fast tempo and added that it may be best served to racing at distances greater than that of today’s event.
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Forced inward near the 150m by EXCEED ROCK which laid in.
 
DANCING ANGEL – Reared as the start was effected and shifted in abruptly. Raced three wide throughout.
 
EXCEED ROCK – Laid in near the 150m.
 
GOOD GRAB – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
SERTIN – Raced keenly early.
 
SHE'S A TIGRESS – Change of tactics, will attempt to lead or race in a forward position. Ridden accordingly.
 
FRENCH OCEAN – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISHANI CONMAN – Raced four wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LOVESON – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 4: NRG SERVICES Class 4 Handicap 1650 metres
 
CHOCOLATIER (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
GOTTA BE FIRST – Slow to begin.
 
MAEVILA RULER – Slow to begin. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
MARMARIS – Slow to begin.
 
ANGELS SHARE – Raced keenly early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SPURIOUS – Steadied rounding the home turn when MAEVILA RULER rolled in.
 
Race 5: SHARPE WORKPLACE SOLUTIONS Maiden Handicap 1210 metres
 
SIR BULLEE – Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 100m steadied from the heels of FINGERTIPS which was carried in and away from MISHANI VANDAL.
 
ROULETTE – Restrained from a wide barrier to a rearward position. When racing keenly near the 800m laid in contacting the rail. Near the 700m improved onto the heels of FINGERTIPS and was steadied. Laid in again in the home straight when placed under pressure.

CANNY CAT– Shortly after the start tightened between runners.
 
SIR LOUIE – Hung in rounding the home turn proving difficult to ride.
 
MISHANI VANDAL – Raced wide early.

NOETHER – Caught wide early when racing keenly before being obliged to race three wide for the majority. Jockey B Appo was charged pursuant to AR211(1) in that he returned to scale in excess of half a kilo overweight and was fined $300.
 
STYLISH HABIT – Shifted in at the start. Approaching the home turn had difficulty obtaining clear running.  Shortly thereafter bumped heavily and blundered when SIR LOUIE hung in despite the effort of its rider. Continued to be held up for clear running to a point near the 100m.
 
 
 
Race 6: WILLMOT ACCOUNTING Maiden Handicap 1210 metres
 
 
BRINGTHELOVE – Near the 1000m when racing greenly and pulling hard, shifted out. Continued to race ungenerously for some distance.
 
MATILDA GENE – Slow to begin.
 
JAYBE HERSCHELLE – Checked near the 450m and lost ground. Apprentice W Peel rider of IDLING BY was found guilty of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 450m she failed to prevent her mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of JAYBE HERSCHELLE obliging its rider to check her mount. Apprentice Peel’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 12/09/21 and expire midnight 19/09/21.
 
COUNTY LOVE – Near the 1000m steadied from the heels of BRINGTHELOVE which was racing greenly.
 
MIDNIGHT WALTZ – Slow to begin.
 
THE ANGELS KISS – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 7: EN AND GEORGIA'S WEDDING DAY QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1110 metres
 
MISHANI DELIGHT – A post-race Veterinary examination of the filly, which performed below market expectations, found no abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.
 
MONDAY MONDAY – Shifted out on jumping and bumped with PENNYWORTH.
 
KESSEL RUN – At the request of its rider after if felt awkward in its action, a post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding found no abnormalities.
 
YANGSEA – Near the 800m improved onto heels when the pace steadied and raced ungenerously. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
 
MISHANI UNTAMED – Raced three wide throughout.
 
PENNYWORTH – Tightened between runners on jumping. Laid in approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
FORCEFUL MATILDA – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 8: GERRY BROWN'S SHELVING & STORAGE Maiden Handicap 1650 metres
 
BEFORE AND AFTER – Commenced to weaken approaching the home turn.  Shortly thereafter obliged to check when PATTI WAGGIN shifted out to improve. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that whilst Beau Appo rider of PATTI WAGGIN was attempting to obtain clear running after improving onto heels. Stewards noted that PATTI WAGGIN appeared to shift away from ZUIICHI which shifted out marginally and therefore were not satisfied to attribute blame to any one rider regarding this incident.   Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination and found to be lane in the near-fore and off-hind. Trainers C & K Geran advised a Veterinary certificate is required prior to the gelding resuming.
 
MEDIEVAL CROWN (NZ) – Forced wider near the 1300m when TRY TO BE GOOD shifted out to avoid heels and lost ground.
 
TAKE THE LEAD – Raced keenly early. Had difficulty obtaining clear running until rounding the home turn.
 
TRY TO BE GOOD – Slow to begin. Near the 1400m improved onto the heels of PATTI WAGGIN when over-racing and shifted wider.
 
LEADBURN LION – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 1300m. Commenced to over-race, taking charge of its rider before finding cover near the 800m.
 
PATTI WAGGIN – Jockey B Appo reported his mount hung in throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the home turn.
