Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards considered an objection lodged by apprentice J. Cornish (BOOM BY BY) alleging interference against the winner (BEARNAS) in the home straight. After hearing submission from connections, it was established that near the 100m, BOOM BY BY which was attempting to obtain a narrow run to the inside of WHISTLE HOFF, was forced to shift in to obtain clear running when BEARNAS shift out. After considering the objection, stewards were of the opinion that BEARNAS was sufficiently clear of BOOM BY BY when crossing its line of running, and as a result played no part in BOOM BY BY having to obtain clear running. Giving consideration to the above, as well as the way the horses finished off the race and the official margin, Stewards subsequently dismissed the objection.
