GENERAL
 
Due to the postponement of the meeting at Canterbury race times were altered as follows:
 
Race 1- 12:45pm
Race 2- 1.20pm
Race 3- 1.55pm
Race 4- 2.30pm
Race 5- 3.05pm
Race 6- 3.40pm
Race 7- 4.15pm
 
 
 
As Jockey N Masuda and App J Cornish were not attending todays race meeting rider replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary
 
 
 
Stewards accepted the reasons tendered by Trainers for the late declaration of riders on their respective runners at this meeting due to the circumstances which led to its postponement.
 
 
 
Race 1: THE DREAMTIME GAMES DASH BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP BM65 1000m
 
MISS BARTY- As Jockey L Tilly was unable to fulfil his engagement due to personal reasons Stewards permitted Jockey S Lacy to be substituted as rider of the mare. Began awkwardly.
 
EAST ESPLANADE- Fractious in the barrier. App M Castle advised her mount had been inclined to lay in in the early stages.
 
LINE UP- Began awkwardly. Momentarily eased off heels when shifting in passing the 900m.
 
AMERICAN CROWN- Obliged to restrain passing the 900m when runners to the outside shifted in.
 
ELEGIST- Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Laid in and away from another runner, despite the efforts of its rider, crowding runners to its inside passing the 900m. Shifted in abruptly under riding on entering the home straight. App A Jones was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mount in similar circumstances.
 
REST OF WORLD- bumped with another runner on jumping. Crowded for room passing the 900m when runners to its outside shifted in.
 
 
Following the running of this event the racing surface was upgraded to a Good 4 retrospectively
 
 
 
Race 2: PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASIPERFORMANCE CLASS 1 PLATE 1640m
 
GIBBED- Due to a clerical error the gelding was not shown as wearing blinkers in some form guides despite the gelding racing in blinkers. Prior to the event on course patrons were made aware by way of on course announcement as well as social media address. Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m. Performed below marked expectations. Jockey S Lacy advised that after travelling well throughout when asked for an effort passing the 600m her mount failed to respond. Trainer J Capewell was unable to provide any tangible explanation for the poor performance. A Post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Capewell undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the geldings performance or condition in the coming days.
 
ENJOY THE SHOW- Began awkwardly. Inclined to race keenly in the middle stages.
 
ROMANCE FACTOR- Raced ungenerously when restrained soon after the start in an effort to obtain a position with cover nearer to the inside running rail. Raced wide until a point leaving the 900m. Shifted in around heels passing the 100m.
 
TAKUNAI- Over-raced in the early stages when restrained in an effort to obtain a position with cover and continued to race keenly thereafter. Bumped with another runner approaching the winning post.
 
PATH AHEAD- Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running. App M Savva was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mount in similar circumstances.
 
LONADO- Bumped with another runner approaching the wining post.
 
 
 
Race 3: PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASILYTE FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1210m
 
THE REAL SAINT- Began awkwardly, soon after clipped heels and blundered.
 
OUTASTEP- Shifted in soon after jumping causing another runner to clip heels and blunder. App T Townsend was advised to make greater effort in keeping her mount straight and was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a). Raced wide form the 800m.
 
DEEP THRILLZ- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Momentarily crowded and obliged to steady leaving the 1000m. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 400m.
 
TRUBOOM- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Momentarily crowded for room passing the 700m and was again placed in restricted room for a short distance passing the 400m.
 
CONSECRATED- Began awkwardly. Commenced to tire from the 400m hampering runners to its rear. Performed below market expectations. Trainer H Donnelly was at a loss to explain the poor performance adding that the mare had missed some work leading into today event with recent weather condition but had been working well. Trainer Donnelly undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the mares performance or condition in the coming days. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
LADY DANORO- Inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages Laid in passing the 400m and whilst under pressure down the running.
 
VERRA- Hung in momentarily approaching the 800m and laid in leaving the 700m crowding runners to its inside. Hampered by a  tiring runner passing the 400m and shifted in racing in restricted room for a short distance. Trainer K Jones was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
 
PRECIOUS DIAMMOND- Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running
 
 
 
Race 4: PRYDE’S EASIFEED THREE COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1210m
 
ZOOMARATTA- Fractious in the barrier. Began awkwardly. Trainer J Judge will be advised a warning will be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
MOTION SENSOR- Began awkwardly. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running.
 
MAILOUT- Crowded on jumping. Inclined to race keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
SIR LOUIE- Dwelt in the barriers and lost ground. Trainer L Thomson will be advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
BRINGTHELOVE- Began awkwardly before being slow into stride. Settled further forward than expected. Jockey M Murphy advised that his instructions had been to be handy however after beginning well was caught wide early so elected to urge his mount forward to obtain the lead and a position on the inside running rail. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
TOP PASS- Shifted out soon after jumping. Settled further forward than expected. Jockey S Lacy advised that after beginning very well her mount obtained a forward position with ease and travelled well throughout before letting down well. Co-Trainer C Geran advised that since coming into his stable the gelding had begun well in its jump-outs so he had expected it to settle in a forward position. Stewards noted the explanations.
 
MY LAST JUDGEMENT- Commenced to over-race when crossed by another runner approaching the 800m. Shifted wider to improve passing the 500m.
 
TWILIGHT BOOM- Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.
 
FINAL PICK- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running proving difficult to ride out and consequently went to the line without being fully tested. Trainer P Richardson was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
 
 
 
Race 5: PRYDE’S EASIFEED ENERGYPAK CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1210m
 
REST OF THE WORLD- Trainer M Currie was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR36(6) for failing to scratch the gelding by the prescribed time.
 
MISTER WARD- Slow into stride.
 
PRINCESS KAYO- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BEFANA- Inclined to race keenly approaching the 800m.
 
FAMOUS- Inclined to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
PURE PURGATORY- Disappointed for a run over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
Race 6: PRYDE’S EASIFEED RACING CUBE QTIS 2yo MAIDEN HANDICAP 1210m
 
MISHANI HOOD- Shifted out on jumping. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running.
 
 
 
Race 7: FURNEYS STOCK FEED BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1880m
 
CALM SEEKER- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.
 
SHEINDLIN- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three wide from the 700m.
 
GOT THE LOT- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT- Raced wide in   the early stages.
 
GONZO- Raced keenly for the majority. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
TOUCAN SAM- Inclined to lay out passing the 400m.
