GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:

As Jockey C Eaton was not riding at tonight’s meeting replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary.
 
 
 
 
Race 1: THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK WOODY 2.0 BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1850m
 
The start time for this event was amended to 4:47pm prior to the commencement of the meeting.
 
BRACKEN- Was declared a late scratching at 10:16am after losing a plate and injuring its hoof in the stable. Trainer T Lambourn was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.
 
ELIZANO- Stood flat footed and lost ground. Trainer D Groves was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier manners as a result. Raced wide until obtaining the lead and a position closer to the inside running rail near the 800m. Performed below market expectations. App J Williams advised the gelding may not have handled the heavy track conditions and may be better suited to a more senior rider.
 
ULTIMATE POWER- Stood flat footed before beginning awkwardly. Trainer K Kirwin was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier manners as a result.
 
SO YOU KNEW- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped another runner near the 600m. Performed below market expectations. Jockey G Cartwright advised that her mount had resented the prevailing racing conditions and despite having performed well on heavy tracks recently had struggled in todays going and resented the heavy kickback.
 
DOTNED- Shifted in and bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 1500m when racing keenly. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
FRIEND OF GOD- Raced keenly in the early stages. Whilst racing keenly became awkwardly placed on heels passing the 1500m having to be steadied.
 
DROP THE PILOT- Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in passing the 1400m when not fully clear and hampering KIBBIT RAHEEB. Jockey L Tilley was reprimanded as a result of this incident and advised to exercise greater care particularly given the prevailing racing conditions. Raced keenly passing the 1300m. Raced wide from the 800m. Bumped with another runner passing the 600m.
 
KIBBIT RAHEEB- Hampered and obliged to ease passing the 1400m. Raced wide form the 1200m. Hung in for the majority. Trainer G Betros was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners as a result.
 
 
 
Race 2: RANVET- TRUSTED PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1225m
 
PAREDO: Stewards permitted the mare be declared a late scratching at 4:53pm given the prevailing racing conditions. Subsequently Stewards ordered all monies invested on the mare be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 4:53pm:
 
8cents in the dollar for the win
9cents in the dollar for the place
 
 
ENABLER- Reluctant to load. Raced wide for the majority. Resented the prevailing racing conditions.
 
ISSAWUAH- Slow into stride.
 
COOL INTELLIGENCE- Dwelt in the barrier before being slow into stride. Raced wide from the 800m. Momentarily eased passing the 100m.
 
SIR PICCOLO- Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after the start and obliged to ease.
 
BY BY MUSIC- Raced ungenerously down the back straight as a result of resenting the heavy kickback.
 
KNOWITALL JACK- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ZOUZOUZALO- Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running shifting out passing the 100m momentarily hampering another runner. Jockey K Yoshida was advised to exercise greater care particularly given the prevailing racing conditions.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: HARVEY NORMAN COMMERCIAL TOOWOOMBA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1050m
 
PEACHIES DREAM- Stewards permitted App J Williamson to claim on 2kg of his 3kg allowance. Trainer M Currie was subsequently fined $200 under the provisions of AR227(a) for failing to comply with the rider overweight directive.
 
IN HAVANA- Began awkwardly. Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after the start and was obliged to ease.
 
HISGRACE- Contacted a gate post in the mounting yard and subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
LIVELY LASS- Hung in soon after the start despite the efforts of its rider and hampered TYCOON DANCER. Inclined to lay in for the majority. Trainer S Sixtus was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners as a result.
 
TYCOON DANCER- Hampered and forced onto heels soon after the start having to be eased.
 
STOP THE ROT- Momentarily eased soon after the start when crowded. Commenced to race ungenerously when being restrained near the 900m before shifting wider. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
YANGSEA- Momentarily crowded passing the 500m.
 
CYCLONE DIVA- Obliged to momentarily ease off heels passing the 500m. Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running, shifting in passing the 200m bumping another runner. Laid in and away from another runner passing the 100m.
 
SADDLE BOY- Laid in passing the 400m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
COYNES ROAD- Bumped by another runner passing the 200m. Shifted in and away from another runner passing the 100m.
 
TOP MASTER- Raced wide for the majority. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Resented the prevailing racing conditions.
 
 
 
Race 4: THE FARM PROTECTORS WINTER PROVINCIAL STAYERS- HEAT- BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 2150m
 
RECALL EVENTS- Trainer B Robinson was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR165(1) for failing to have the gelding on course by the prescribed time.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Laid in passing the 400m.
 
ALIRAAJ- Bumped on jumping.
 
ARIVAKOVA- Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
VENOMOUS- Began awkwardly and shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. Shifted out and around heels passing the 350m.
 
RED WAVE- Over-raced in the early stages.
 
PUCKISH- Raced wide in the early stages Performed below market expectations. Jockey M Saava stated that she had expected a more forward showing based on her mounts recent performance at the track in similar conditions and being more suited to the distance of tonight’s event. App Saava added that the gelding had raced flat today and speculated the previous run in the heavy conditions may have been more draining than had appeared. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards intend to seek comment from Trainer M Nolan.
 
SAMHAIN- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MOONLIGHT ECLIPSE- Resented the prevailing racing conditions.
 
 
 
Race 5: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
BOOM BY BY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
IRONSIDE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
WINTERSTEIN- Dwelt in the barrier. Resented the prevailing track conditions.
 
CLARRIE- Slow into stride. Jockey S Lacy advised that her mount resented the prevailing track conditions.
 
I’M RUSHIN- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
YUPPIE- Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
KEFA- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SEENUSCOMING- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
KWINERN- Commenced to lose ground from the 600m. Resented the prevailing track conditions.
 
 
 
Race 6: MOCO FOOD SERVICES FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
ZATTASTAR- May have been displayed in some for guides as wearing blinkers. This was incorrect and the mare was to race without that piece of gear. Trainer J Bruce was reminded of his obligations under the provisions of AR103.
 
MS MINNELLI- As App A Patis was unable to fulfil her remining engagement and no other rider was available to replace her the mare was declared a late scratching at 7:22pm. Subsequently all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 7:22pm:
 
5cents in the dollar for the win
6cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
11cents for 2nd place
7cents for 3rd place
 
 
MISS CINNAMONCIDER- Dwelt in the barrier before beginning awkwardly before being hampered soon after.
 
VONZITHER- Began awkwardly and shifted out hampering another runner.
 
AQUA ALTA- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
PRINCESS AMITY- Eased down over the concluding stages and finished tailed off. Jockey C Taylor advised that his mount resented the shift track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
YIA MAS- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 7: MOORE LEWIS & PARTNERS QTIS 2yo CLASS 1 PLATE 1300m
 
POSSOVER- Raced ungenerously for a short distance when restrained passing the 1250m. Improved onto heels approaching the 800m having to be eased.
 
HUBBUB- Momentarily hampered leaving the 400m when a runner to the outside laid in. Shifted out abruptly in the home straight. Though no interference occurred App M Savva was reminded of her obligations.
 
SPOOKY SPIRIT- Laid in under riding passing the 400m momentarily hampering another runner. Jockey K Zechner was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
