BULL DIMPLE RUM- Blundered at the start. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Stewards inquired into the reasons App M Kennedy did not attempt to improve into a run between LOVESON and WOWIT’S WILLYWONKA when that run presented leaving the 200m and continued to present periodically until a point approaching the winning post, at which time App Kennedy permitted her mount to improve between those runners. App Kennedy stated she did not feel her mount was travelling well enough to improve into the run when it present near the 200m as at the time she felt it to be a marginal run however, with the benefit of hindsight, she agreed she may have erred by not attempting to improve into the run at that point or persisting to improve into the run as it presented periodically throughout the home straight. Stewards noted App Kennedy’s explanation and advised App Kennedy the matter would be referred to the Racing Queensland Apprentice Training Team for review. Stewards intend to review the betting for the event.

INCOMPARABLE- Began awkwardly and became awkwardly placed on heels soon after. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Trainer T Dougall advised that the gelding had been pleasing well in its work since arriving at his stable and he had expected a forward showing. App M Potgieter advised that he had elected to place the gelding under pressure earlier than it had been in its most recent starts as he felt this would be more in line with his mounts racing pattern which resulted in the gelding finishing off strongly. Stewards noted the explanations.

EXLOVER- Bumped on jumping and again soon after when being crowded, as a result became awkwardly placed on heels and was obliged to ease. Raced keenly passing the 900m and again near the 600m. Bumped the running rail approaching the 400m. Performed below market expectations. Jockey N Keal advised that, in his opinion, the gelding did not back up well from its most recent start and would benefit from a gear change removing the blinkers. Trainer M Currie advised on the 20/11/22 that the gelding had pulled up well following the event but would nonetheless have the veterinary surgeon attend over the coming days and advise should anything become apparent regarding the geldings condition. Mr Currie added that the stable was disappointed with the performance and, in his opinion, the gelding may not have appreciated the firmed going.

GLENGARRY- Tightened passing the 1000m becoming awkwardly placed on heels and was obliged to restrain. In determining penalty Stewards considered the degree of carelessness and interference which were deemed to be in the low range, Jockey Keals guilty plea and record in relation to the rule as well as the racing manners of LADY ORATORIO which served to exacerbate the interference. Jockey Keal was advised of his right to an internal review. Bumped passing the 600m.
