GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
 
Race 4- Jockey S Lacy +0.5kg
 
 
Race 1: REMEMBERING JAYSON HALPIN BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1000m
 
RAYOCK- Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ROWDASH- Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
OUR LINK- Slow to begin.
 
CHARGED- Momentarily crowded at the start. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
HUBBUB- Steadied soon after the start when crowded. Shifted out under pressure passing the 200m inconveniencing TA CHANSON. Jockey J Adams was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
 
LOVESON- Held up for clear running during the early stages of the home straight until shifting wider passing the 200m.
 
TA CHANSON- Inconvenienced passing the 200m.
 
LOGAN’S BLADE- Laid in and away form another runner near the 200m.
 
 
Race 2: NORTHBUILD CONSTRUCTION BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1300m
 
DROP THE PILOT- Slow to begin.
 
HARMONY NATION- Slow to begin.
 
STARS ‘N’ RICHES- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide form the 900m.
 
FUN SPONGE- Hung out soon after the start. Laid out for the majority thereafter.
 
BEST TO HURRY- Raced keenly passing the 900m.
 
BULL DIMPLE RUM- Inconvenienced passing the 800m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
SHOUTS OUTBACK- Shifted in marginally passing the 800m inconveniencing BULL DIMPLE RUM. Jockey S Lacy was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Brushed the inside running rail approaching the 400m.
 
HELEVA DEEL- Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS- Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
 
Race 3: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1850m
 
LINCOLN TOWN- Stewards permitted the scratching of the gelding at 5:41pm following the upgrading of the racing surface to a Good 3. Stewards advised Trainer B Aherns that Stewards would expect similar action to be taken on similar track conditions going forward.
 
LATIN LYRIC- Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
SUBTLY SPRING- Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced in restricted room from the 1750-1600m and was buffeted near the 1650m. Raced keenly from the 1600m-1300m. Took the course proper crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Bumped passing the 200m.
 
PACKAGE- Bumped on jumping. Commenced to over-race from the 1750m and raced in restricted room from that point until the 1600m. Bumped passing the 1650m and shifted out becoming awkwardly placed on heels. Raced keenly from the 1600-1300m. Raced wide for the majority. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
AMBER ONE- Raced keenly from the 1700m and shifted out bumping another runner near the 1650m. Took the course proper crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Raced wide from the 900m.
 
FOXY ROSE- After being caught wide in the early stages elected to stride forward and obtain a forward position near the 1300m.
 
EGO DANCER- Commenced to lose ground from the 600m. Finished tailed off. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Jockey C Bayliss advised that after pressuring his mount from the 600m and its failure to respond to his urgings he elected not to place the gelding under any undue pressure in the home straight. Trainer K Jones advised he was disappointed in the performance adding that he would look to place the gelding in weaker company going forward. Mr Jones undertook to advise should anything regarding the geldings condition become apparent in the coming days.
 
WINSTON BLUE- Bumped passing the 200m.
 
TEA LEAVES- Jockey N Keal was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA LAYERS CUP MAIDEN HANDICAP 1625m
 
BAGUIO- Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
METAVERSE- Buffeted on jumping before being crowded. Shifted out tot improve passing the 600m and bumped.
 
PERSONAL FIRE- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SHE WIZZ- Bumped on jumping becoming awkwardly placed on heels and obliged to ease. Raced keenly down the back straight. Under pressure from the 600m.
 
BABY RUN- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
DUCHESS BREE- Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
SUGARPUSH- Bumped passing the 600m.
 
DESHORENTE- Improved onto heels having to be restrained passing the 600m. Held up for clear running from the 500-400m until shifting wider.
 
DEDICATED FEW- Shifted in and away from another runner near the 100m and bumped the inside running rail.
 
 
Race 5: VINES & HORROCKS CUP BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 870m
 
SHEEZASINGA- Began awkwardly.
 
BEFANA- Crowded on jumping.
 
ISAREADY- Crowded on jumping. Held up for clear running from the 100m and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
LILLI LIGHTS OUT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
TURBOART- Jockey W D’Avila was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 8 occasions, 3 more than permitted prior to the 100m.
 
CONGLOMERATE- On returning to the race-day tie-ups was found to have bled from both nostrils in running. Trainer M Sears advised the gelding would now likely be retired. Nonetheless, Miss Sears was advised that as this was the first such occurrence the gelding would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race under the provisions of AR79.
 
 
Race 6: CREATE ADVICE GROUP CLASS 2 HANDICAP 870m
 
FOX ON THE ROCKS- Was fractious in the mounting yard and on entering onto the course proper. Trainer R Hilton was advised a warning would be placed on the mares pre-race manners. Tired noticeably from the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer R Hilton advised the mare would now likely leave his stable.
 
EXLOVER- Began awkwardly.
 
AL PAL’S GAL- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Bumped several times between the 700-500m.
 
PANUARA BOY- Bumped several times between the 700-500m.
 
HEDONIE- Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
