Stewards permitted the following overweights at tonight’s meeting:

Race 1: 1EQUINE- FOR THE EQUINE ATHLETE BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1300m
 
TABULAM- As Jockey T Harrison was unable to attend tonight’s meeting due to transport difficulties Jockey K Yoshida was substituted as rider of the gelding. Laid out passing the 900m.
 
JAC THE GREAT- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly on heels leaving the 100om.
 
VANTASTIC- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly on heels near the 900m.
 
TUSCANY BOUND- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PERFECT ENCOUNTER- Shifted in near the 900m crowding runners to its inside. Jockey J Molloy was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and advised to ensure he is fully clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
SATELLITE SPIRIT- Bumped on jumping.
 
DARING BELLE- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly down the back straight.
 
ILIKEIT ILOVEIT- Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced in restricted room to the inside of heels from a point approaching the 1000m and bumped the running rail before being tightened and obliged to ease near the 900m. Laid out under pressure down the running.
 
SQUEEZE DIS- Momentarily crowded near the 900m.
 
 
Race 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey M Hellyer, rider of 2nd placegetter POWER SISTER to view the photo finish. After viewing the photo finish and discussing the matter with Stewards Jockey M Hellyer was satisfied a margin was present and correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
 
 
ALBION SQUARE- Bumped on jumping before being crowded and momentarily eased, consequently settled further back in the field than may have been expected. Momentarily eased near the 600m. Obliged to shift in to obtain clear running on entering the home straight.
 
COBURG- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ARTIE BEATSOM- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
CHANPAGNE TORQUE- Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped heavily.
 
SHOCKING FORCE- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Raced keenly on heels leaving the 700m before shifting in marginally approaching the 600m momentarily crowding ALBION SQUARE.
 
SUPER ART- Crowded and bumped on jumping. Reluctant to improve into a marginal run over the concluding stages and consequently went to the line without being fully tested.
 
YOURALLTHAT- After being caught wide in the early stages was eased off heels and shifted in to attempt to obtain cover and a position closer to the inside running rail, consequently settled in a more rearward position than may have been expected. Obtained cover near the 800m and raced in a three (3) wide position for the majority. Raced keenly for the majority.
 
STRAIGHT ALPHAS- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ESPANYOL- As Jockey A Thompson was unable to satisfy the allocated weight, Jockey N Evans was substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey A Thompson was subsequently reprimanded under the provisions of AR190(3). In determining penalty Stewards noted this was the only recorded breach of this rule having occurred in Jockey Thompsons six (6) years of riding. Began awkwardly. Laid in for the majority proving somewhat difficult to ride out.
 
CONAIR- Brushed the inside running rail and became awkward in its action near the 400m.
 
 
 
Race 3: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1625m
 
ALLORA ENZO- Made heavy contact with a gate post when entering onto the course proper. Underwent a subsequent veterinary examination behind the barriers and was found to be lame in the Off-hind leg and was declared a late scratching at 5:45pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deduction applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 5:45pm:
 
22cents in the dollar for the win
19cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
14cents in the dollar for 2nd place
16cents in the dollar for 3rd place
 
Trainer T Sears was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
TEA LEAVES- Slow into stride.
 
ANYWAY YOU WANT IT- Shifted in approaching the 1400m crowding ZABCAN. Jockey J Huxtable was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and advised to ensure he is fully clear when shifting ground in future.
 
EMALEAH- Laid in for the majority.
 
DIACO- Lost its near-fore plate rounding the home turn. Shifted ground under pressure down the running.
 
JAZZ- After being posted wide in the early stages, whist racing keenly, and with no pace evident elected to stride forward obtaining the lead near the 1400m.
 
ZABCAN- Crowded and obliged to ease near the 1400m. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 4: SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1850m
 
SAVVY LEGEND- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
VAN GOGH- Bumped on jumping, shifted out and bumped again soon after. Shifted in near the 1800m crowding MARSHY. App T Townsend was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and advised to exercise greater effort in correcting her mounts sooner in similar circumstances.
 
GOT THE LOT- Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
BETTER ETHICS- Raced keenly when being restrained in the early stages in an attempt to obtain cover and continued to do so for the duration of the back straight.
 
HE’S VIRAL- Bumped soon after the start.
 
MARSHY- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Crowded and obliged to shift in passing the 1800m.
 
 
Race 5: PRYDE’S EASI FEED QTIS 2yo MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
KANSAS SUN- Bumped passing the 400m.
 
WHO ORDERED DAFISH- Bumped on jumping. Laid out and bumped passing the 400m. Raced greenly for the majority.
 
UPSTART LEGEND- Shifted in and bumped on jumping.
 
CYCLE OF ADDICTION- On returning to scale App T Townsend advised her mount had its tongue over the bit for the majority of the event.
 
FAST FLIRT- Began awkwardly and bumped. Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced greenly for the majority.
 
JESSAVET- Trainer R Lipp was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Laid out under pressure down the running.
 
 
Race 6: SELECTED SEEDS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
LOADED GUN- Threw a plate in the race-day tie-ups sustaining an injury to its hoof in the process and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 7:36pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 7:36pm:
 
10cents in the dollar for the win
8cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
9cents in the dollar for 2nd place
12cents in the dollar for 3rd place
 
Trainer G Banks was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
I AM JIMMMY- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Shifted in again soon after, despite the efforts of its rider, crowding runners to its inside.
 
DECIDER- After being marginally slow away was tightened for room, became awkwardly placed on heels and obliged to ease, consequently settling further back in the field than may have been expected. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
EGALITE- Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
RIVER DANZKA- Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer M Currie to substitute the Kyneton noseband for a Crossover noseband. This was advertised by way of oncourse announcement and television broadcast. Trainer M Currie was summarily fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR206(2) for failing to enact a gear change by the prescribed time.  Began awkwardly.
 
DRAGON CLAWS- Bumped on jumping. Raced ungenerously near the 800m.
 
FITZROY PLAIN- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RED SHIRAZ- Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 7: MORT & CO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1850m
 
LIZZIE’S PRIDE- Shifted in and bumped on jumping.
 
CHOOKY CHEERLEADER- Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the mare Jockey A Thompson advised that after racing keenly in the early stages he elected to shift wider in an effort to improve near the 1300m with the intention of settling outside LISSIE’S PRIDE which was at that time racing behind the leader on the fence however, whilst making the forward move that runner had shifted into a one-off position and ARTIC DASHER had improved slightly to the inside of that runner resulting in his mount being caught in a no better than three (3) wide position from that point on. Stewards noted Jockey Thompsons explanation.
 
CEE EYE CEE- Crowded and bumped on jumping. Momentarily eased to come around heels on entering the home straight.
 
CALLYWAG- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 1500m. Shifted ground under pressure when commencing to tire on entering the home straight.
 
GOTTA HAVE FUN- Severely tightened on jumping.
 
COCO JEWEL- Crowded and bumped on jumping.
