App Callow stated that at the time she felt the run between GETTIN’ LIPPY and GRAPE EXPECTATIONS had been closing and her mount was not travelling well enough to improve into the run. After viewing the patrol footage, and with the assistance of senior rider G Cartwright, App Callow acknowledged she had erred by not attempting to improve between those runners during that period when a run had availed itself. GOLDEELUCK- Slow into stride. Held up for some distance approaching the 400m before being shifted wider. Laid in under pressure down the running.

SUBAQUA- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly near the 1500m. Jockey M Hellyer was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 150m he did exercise insufficient effort in preventing his mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of CRUSADER RAZOR, consequently making contact with that runner, causing it to be restrained and shifted in. Jockey Hellyer’s license to ride in race was subsequently suspended for a period of 7 days to commence 2 April up to and including 8 April 2024. In determining penalty Stewards determined the carelessness and interference to be in the low range, Jockey Hellyer’s record in relation to the rule, the fact CRUSADER RAZOR was commencing to tire which may have exacerbated the interference marginally, as well as recognising Jockey Hellyer’s efforts to straighten his mount which were determined by Stewards to be, whilst evident, at too late of a juncture to prevent the interference from occurring and actions which should have been taken at an earlier stage. Jockey Hellyer was advised of his right to an appeal.

IN THE PICTURE- Connections advise it would be the intention to have the mare ridden further forward than in its most recent starts should circumstances permit. Was slow to begin. Raced keenly passing the 1700m. Raced keenly passing the 1200m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
