Race 1: QUEENSLAND ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1000m
XERRI- Bumped soon after the start before shifting in and bumping near the 900m and again near the 850m before continuing to shift in, taking BUN IN THE OVEN in and obliging ULUWATU to be momentarily steadied. App A Graham was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) ass a result of this incident. Further, Stewards queried the tactics adopted on the gelding, particularly App Graham’s persistent efforts to assume a leading position whilst caught three-wide with no cover. App Graham, in the presence of Apprentice Mentor Mr R Fradd, concurred with Stewards that greater efforts should have been made in an endeavor to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail after it became apparent near the 900m that her mount had been beaten for early speed and would be caught wide. Laid in and bumped leaving the 600m. Raced wide throughout.
RUSSIAN DIVA- Began awkwardly.
BUNDELLA- Began awkwardly.
ULUWATU- Obliged to momentarily steady near the 800m.
BUN IN THE OVEN- Bumped soon after the start, before again being bumped near the 900m and 850m, before being bumped and forced in near the 800m. Bumped leaving the 600m.
Race 2: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m
PHYSICIST- Momentarily crowded leaving the 1100m and bumped.
MEKANIC- Shifted out and bumped near the 150m.
ZOUWALER- Began awkwardly and bumped before being crowded and losing ground. Momentarily crowded leaving the 500m. Raced wide for the majority.
EZEIZA- Raced wide for the majority.
GAZZA'S DIAMOND- Began awkwardly. Bumped near the 1100m. Bumped near the 500m. Shifted in soon after the entering the home straight and continued to shift in inconveniencing DUCHESS BREE leaving the 200m before being bumped near the 150m. App S Willis was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. Further, Stewards queried the tactics adopted in the home straight particularly the decision to shift to the inside of MOOD KILLER soon after entering the home straight after already being placed marginally to the outside of that runners heels and clear running being evident to the outside. App S Willis, in the presence of Apprentice Mentor Mr R Fradd, advised that her instructions had been to endeavor to remain nearer the inside running rail however concurred with Stewards that a better option would have been to remain on the outside of MOOD KILLERS heels. Stewards noted the explanation and advised App Willis to ensure her riding in similar circumstances is always beyond reproach.
MOOD KILLER- Raced keenly in the middle stages.
ON THE TIGHTROPE- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
KNOWITALL FRANK- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly on heels near the 800m. Bumped near the 500m.
BASIL'S GIFT- Slow to begin.
DUCHESS BREE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly and was bumped when being crowded. Held up on heels from a point approaching the 200m before being steadied and shifted wider leaving the 200m before being obliged to steady from heels soon after.
Race 3: SEDL AGENCIES BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 870m
RUBY JULY- Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure down the running.
I AM VOODOO- Laid our rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey J Murphy advised that his mount travelled fairly but was plain when asked for an effort in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
BAUHINIA ROCK- Bumped near the 500m. Bumped on entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
HUSS ON FIRST- Laid in for the majority. Bumped the inside running rail near the 600m.
SURREAL ASCOT- A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
HIDDEN MELODY- Bumped near the 500m. Bumped on entering the home straight.
ALBION SQUARE (GB)- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
Race 4: WIN TELEVISION MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300m
I'M THAT GUY (NZ)- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Under pressure from the 700m and finished tailed off. Trainer S Croxford was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive.
BEANS MEANS- Raced keenly approaching the 800m. Raced wide from the 800m until the 500m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
HEARTY HENRY- Began awkwardly, was slow into stride and bumped.
HIDEYOSHI- Laid in under pressure down the running.
COLONEL PARKER- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
MISTER SWEET- Slow into stride and trailed the field throughout before finishing tailed off. Trainer V Heading was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive.
GOOD GIRL POLLY- Bumped on jumping.
Race 5: PLATINUM GLASS & SECURITY MAIDEN PLATE 1050m
SIR MEMPHIS- Began awkwardly and bumped. App A Graham advised that near the 800m when attempting to steady her mount slightly the gelding came off the bridle excessively necessitating her urging the gelding forward again.
WEATHER- Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped again. Forced wider near the 800m.
EL QUINTO- Bumped on jumping.
GERALDINE'S WISH- Began very awkwardly and was slow to begin before becoming awkwardly placed on heels soon after. Improved onto heels having to be steadied and shifted wider near the 800m. Raced keenly leaving the 500m. Laid in under pressure down the running. Shifted out to improve and bumped leaving the 200m.
LUVTOKNOW- Bumped soon after the start becoming unbalanced. Laid in under pressure down the running.
SPRUCE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed a near-fore tendon injury with the mare subsequently being declared a late scratching at 2:35pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:35pm:
2cents in the dollar for the win
3cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
2cents in the dollar for 2nd place
4cents in the dollar for 3rd place
Trainer P Wallace was advised the mare would be require a veterinary certificate of fitness inclusive of an ultrasound prior to trialing satisfactorily would be required prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
DOMINANT DARCY- Bumped on jumping, shifted out and bumped again. Bumped near the 200m.
MISS DE MEDICI- Bumped on jumping.
MAJOR FREESTONE- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Forced wider near the 800m. Raced wide for the majority.
VAIN ROSSI- Bumped on jumping. Forced wider, becoming momentarily awkwardly placed on heels before shifting wider again. Raced wide for the majority. App S Callow was reprimanded for negligence pursuant to AR227(a) in that her negligence in weighing out with a breast plate, contrary to rule AR184(b)(iv), could have led to a breach of AR209(1).
OUR ANACONDA- Shifted out and bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
Race 6: TAYLOR BUILDING GROUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1300m
BOWRIDER- Began awkwardly. Shifted in near the 250m, tightening the running of and bumping with FREEMAN before becoming unbalanced and being steadied. App C Krahnen was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding as a result of this incident. In considering the matter Stewards noted the marginal nature of the shift from BOWRIDER as well as the geldings becoming unbalanced as mitigating factors concerning App Krahnens culpability for the interference.
SPEED MAP- Jockey C Bayliss advised that, in his opinion, the heavy weight impost and the undulating racing surface were telling factors in the performance.
CELESTIAL HARBOUR- Raced keenly in the back straight.
REGAL EDITION- Bumped on jumping.
RYLOV- Began awkwardly.
FREEMAN- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped. Raced keenly in the back straight. Held up for clear running from a point approaching the 500m until entering the home straight when improving into a run to the inside of BOWRIDER near the 250m before being tightened and bumped heavily and eventually improving through that run into clear running passing the 200m.
FLUDWAY- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly near the 1200m. Raced wide from the 900m. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have dislodged its tongue-tie in running.
SOOZIE MAREE- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late scratching of the mare at 7:45am.
Race 7: HAPPY 21ST MASON LINDSAY CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1890m
LOYALTY COUNTS- Began awkwardly. Over-race on heels near the 1600m. Raced keenly near the 1500m. Obliged to steady off heels approaching the 200m. Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.
MEDICAL AUTOCRAT- Bumped on jumping. Shifted in and became awkwardly placed on heels near the 1700m. Hung-in under pressure in the home straight inconveniencing LOYALTY COUNTS approaching the 200m, before continuing to hang-in despite the efforts of its rider. Jockey K Zechner was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. In considering the matter Stewards noted some efforts were being made prior to the incident by Jockey Zechner however were of the view greater remedial efforts were required and should have been employed leading into that incident. Trainer C Geran was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
GOT YOURSELF A GUN- Jockey A Allen was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he did use his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
WHATADILEMMA- Momentarily crowded near the 1700m.
LIZZIE'S PRIDE (NZ)- When asked to comment on the performance App C Baker advised that her mount had travelled well but proved disappointing when asked for an effort in the penultimate stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities outside of a dislodged near-hind plate. Trainer G Wright advised on 4 May that the mare had pulled up well adding that, in his opinion, settling further back in the field may have been to the mares detriment.

ANOTHER DAZZLER- Began awkwardly.
SPANISH FIGHTER- Slow to begin. Raced keenly near the 1600m. Raced wide for the majority.
LINDA'S MAGIC- Raced keenly in the early stages.
PRIDE AN' JOY- Obliged to shift to the outside of heels approaching the 100m.
