SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Toowoomba 19 July 2025

Race 7: SHERRIN RENTALS MAIDEN PLATE 2000m

Stewards concluded an inquiry into the reasons Jockey L Tilleys (KALBAR QUEEN) left arm did come near to App K Lenton and her mount, ROCK A BYE IVY, near the 400m. After taking evidence from both riders and reviewing the patrol footage Stewards determined that when passing the 400m Jockey Tilley had attempted to pull his whip through to the left whilst his mount was laying out slightly and in doing so had lost his grip on the whip resulting in his left arm extending out into the vicinity of App Lenton and her mount, before again attempting to pull his whip through to the left and in doing so did extend his arm out excessively and into close proximity to the head of ROCK A BYE IVY. In considering the matter Stewards noted that no detrimental consequence for ROCK A BYE IVY or App Lenton had arisen from the action of Jockey Tilley, however were of the view that Jockey Tilley had erred by persisting with his attempts to pull his whip through to the left side after failing on the first occasion when in such close proximity to another runner. Ultimately, Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no further action was necessary outside of reminding Jockey Tilley of his obligations and duty of care in relation such circumstances and to always ensure his actions when riding in races are beyond reproach.

Race 2- Jockey L Tilley +1kg
