ELECTRIC ARROW- Bumped passing the 300m. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey O Kendal advised that being caught wide was a telling factor in the performance.
SAVVY BEE (NZ)- Raced keenly when restrained to obtain a position with cover near the 1100m. Raced keenly soon after and improved onto heels having top be restrained near the 900m. Stewards queried App L Martyn’s riding of the mare, in the presence of senior Jockey L Tilley, particularly in regard to her restraining of her mount out of a run to the inside of HUSSON’S REVENGE near the 150m and shifting to the outside of that runners heels. App Martyn advised that as HUSSON’S REVENGE had laid in somewhat abruptly immediately prior to that causing SAVVY BEE to become momentarily crowded she had expected that runner to continue to shift in and therefore had elected to shift to its outside. App Martyn concurred with Steward however that she would have been better positioned to have persisted with the run to the inside of HUSSON’S REVENGE rather than steadying and shifting cross heels. Stewards deemed that no further action was necessary, however, intend to review betting records in relation to the event.
HUSSON'S REVENGE- Laid in under pressure down the running.
RHUVAAL- Momentarily held up for clear running near the 350m before shifting out across heels and bumping.

DOITLIKEMAXWELL- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly near the 1300m. Jockey R Downey advised it had been the intention to obtain a position with cover however given the geldings poor start had settled further back in the field than intended and after racing keenly early had proved disappointing in the finish.
BESIEGE- Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the backs straight.
RACE 3:DAVID DOW LANDSCAPING CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1625m
COLD ONE- App C Champkin was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride her mount out fully to the finish of the event. In considering the matter, Stewards noted the lack of vigor was over the final two strides of the event as well as the neck margin between COLD ONE (4th) and GUZUMPED (3rd), however were of the view that App Champkins lack of vigor had no tangible effect on the placings.
GUZUMPED- Laid in and away from another runner leaving the 100m.
MARENARO- Tightened on jumping and was momentarily steadied. Laid in under pressure down the running.
COUNT THE COIN- Held up for clear running for a short distance leaving the 400m.
BAVARIAN LADY- Momentarily steadied from heels near the 1500m. Over-raced near the 1200m.

RACE 4: NEWLANDS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m
REVALENE- Laid out rounding the home turn.
REIGNING ALPHA- Crowded and became awkwardly placed on heels leaving the 900m.

MISS DE BLAAS- App L Martyn pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in that leaving the 900m she did exercise insufficient effort in preventing her mount from shifting in crowding PLATINUM GIFTS line in, in turn crowding RED TOFFEE in onto REIGNING ALPHA which was obliged to steady and became awkwardly placed on heels, before continuing to shift in resulting in RED TOFFEE being further tightened and taken in obliging that runner to be restrained before clipping heels, blundering and losing its rightful running. App Martyn’s license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 9days to commence 7 September up to and including 15 September 2025. In determining the matter Stewards considered the QRIC careless riding template as well as paying particular mind to App Martyns good disciplinary record in relation to the rule. App Martyn was advised of her right to an appeal. Race wide for the majority.
PLATINUM GIFT- Crowded and taken in leaving the 900m. Jockey R Downey was reminded of his obligations in relation to AR131(b) and to ensure he fully rides his mounts out to the end of the event. When asked to comment on the performance Trainer L Hatch advised that the intention had been for the gelding to lead however the pace set through the early and middle stages was untenable and the gelding compounded accordingly. App Martyn concurred with Mr Hatch. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
TENNESSEE WHISKEY (NZ)- Bumped passing the winning post.
BLUMSTIEN- Laid out near the 1600m. Bumped passing the winning post.

LA VITTORIA- Improved onto the heels of a tiring runner approaching the 400m having to be steadied and shifted wider.
SMART BINT- Commenced to yield ground from the 800m and finished tailed off. App O Kendal advised that when her mount started to give ground she placed the mare under pressure however when SMART BINT failed to respond she elected not to pressure the mare further. Trainer C Geran advised connections would now consider the mares immediate racing future, nonetheless, Mr Geran was advised the mare would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
