SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Eidsvold 4th October 2025
Jockey M Savva was reminded of her obligations to seek approval before leaving the course pursuant to AR128.
GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweights at todays meeting:
Race 2- Jockey A Thompson +1/2kg
As App C Lenton, Jockey T Brooker and App E Lang were unable to fulfil their riding engagements due to acceptable reasons, rider replacements were permitted as per Stewards race-day summary.
RACE 1: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING MAIDEN PLATE 1890m
ALZURRI- Raced wide until being pressed forward from the 1500m obtaining the lead and a position along the inside running rail near the 1100m.
FUTURE HERO- Held up for clear running leaving the 500m. Bumped leaving the 400m. Crowded and bumped near the 350m before being momentarily steadied. Bumped near the 100m.
SOUTHOFTHEBORDER- Raced wide from the 800m.
THE BLAZE- Raced keenly on heels near the 1500m. Raced wide for the majority.
DREAM SUMMIT- Slow to begin. Raced keenly on heels near the 1500m and in the early stages of the back straight. Held up for clear running from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight.
FLIRTING WITH FIRE (NZ)- Raced wide from the 800m. Bumped leaving the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of blood in the mares mouth.
NIENNA (NZ)- Raced keenly near the 1500m. Held up for clear running from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight. Shifted out away from heels near the 150m. Bumped near the 100m.
BUFFALO THEORY- Slow into stride before becoming awkwardly placed on heels and steadied soon after. Raced keenly in the early stages of the back straight. Shifted out in an attempt to improve leaving the 400m and bumped with FLIRTING WITH FIRE and forced back in bumping with and crowding FUTURE HERO. Jockey A Thompson was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. When asked to comment on the performance Jockey A Thompson advised that, in his opinion, the gelding may have resented being amongst horses, but was nonetheless disappointing. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a mildly slow recovery.
RACE 2: LIVEWIRED ELECTRICAL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
IN AND AWAY- Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
STEPLIKA LION- Shifted in and bumped near the 900m.
MR HANKY PANKY- Laid in under pressure down the running.
DOTTI BISKIT- Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1:22pm after becoming fractious when being loaded and rearing over. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to apply to all successful wagers placed prior to 1:22pm:
22cents in the dollar for the win
12cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
18cents in the dollar for 2nd place
24cents in the dollar for 3rd place
Trainer L Hatch was advised the mare would be required to obtain two further consecutive barrier certificates prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
ENIGMA'S CHOICE- Bumped near the 900m. Shifted in marginally passing the 100m and momentarily crowded SHE’S BRUTAL.
SHE'S BRUTAL- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly near the 800m. Momentarily crowded passing the 100m.
ZOUSAIN GIRL- Raced keenly near the 800m. Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 300m before shifting wider on entering the home straight.
BODYSWERVE- Held up for clear running approaching the 300m.
RACE 3: ARMSTRONG GWM MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
SIR SNACKALOT- Raced keenly leaving the 1000m. Shifted out and bumped near the 900m. Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
ANXO- Bumped when crowded near the 900m before being bumped again soon after. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey J Huxtable was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the poor performance. Trainer N Beck advised connections were disappointed with the performance and the gelding would now likely be leaving his stable. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
LAAN- Shifted in near the 700m and hampered HONEST DOLL. Jockey D Moor was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Obliged to shift out to avoid heels near the 100m.
HONEST DOLL- Became awkwardly placed on heels and steadied near the 700m.
STABILIZER- Bumped on jumping and again soon after. Shifted in when not cully clear of HABERFIELD near the 900m crowding that runner and obliging it to be restrained. App S Callow was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. In considering the matter Stewards noted that their had been a minor shift out from the inside as well as the racing manners of HABERFIELD leading into the incident which were deemed to have exacerbated the interference and as such mitigating to App Callows blameworthiness. Shifted in near the 100m and momentarily hampered LAAN. App S Callow was advised to exercise grater care in similar circumstances.
HABERFIELD- Raced keenly when being eased near the 900m before being bumped, crowded and bumped again having to be restrained. Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
TORONESS- Raced keenly leaving the 1000m. Held up for clear running leaving the 400m.
RARE MOON- Began awkwardly and bumped on jumping before being bumped again soon after. Held up for clear running leaving the 400m until a point leaving the 300m.
GERRY'S PICK- When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance Trainer J Dunn advised the mare had been pleasing in its work since coming into the stable and after trialing well recently and drawing a favorable barrier today a forward showing had been expected.
RACE 4: VIEW HOTEL BRISBANE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1625m
SPRAY GUN- Raced keenly in the middle stages.
FORT WILLIAM- Began awkwardly and bumped. Over-raced near the 1300m. Raced keenly near the 800m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
EARL OF DEVON (NZ)- After a winning performance at Dalby on 2 October, the gelding received an additional 1.5kg handicapping penalty for todays event. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
BRINGME- Bumped and lost ground on jumping. Laid in under pressure down the running.
RACE 5: CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1300m
EXTOL- Raced keenly in the backstraight, over-racing near the 1000m. Lost an off-hind plate in running.
HELL OF A LAD- When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance Trainer P Burns advised that the gelding had trialed well recently and as a consequence of the favorable barrier had settled nearer to the pace which was also beneficial in his opinion.
TICKLE MY TOSEN- Bumped near the 1200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
SAVVY BEE (NZ)- Restrained in the early stages from the wide barrier to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail. Held up for clear running for a short distance leaving the 400m before again being held up for clear running soon after entering the home straight until a point near the 150m.
TARADALE- Raced wide from the 700m.
BACCARAT ROUGE- Crowded near the 200m.
MAY (NZ)- Bumped near the 1200m.
RACE 6: GERRY BROWN'S SHELVING & STORAGE FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
JAMAICAN MECRAZY- Jockey K Zechner advised that, in his opinion, the mare would derive a fitness benefit from the run and may appreciate a track with more give. Trainer M Nolan concurred with Jockey Zechners comments.
TSUKINO- After beginning well from the wide barrier settled further forward than may have been expected. Laid in under pressure down the running proving somewhat difficult to ride out and becoming awkwardly placed on heels near the 150m.
SWEET ABOUT ME- Bumped on jumping. Jockey G Cartwright dropped her off-side rein near the 100m before regathering it near the 50m.
FRIJOLES- Bumped on jumping. Restrained near the 1000m to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail.
MIDNIGHT BOOM- Bounded in the air as the start was effected.
RACE 7: EMPIRE OF JAPAN COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
CARRIBEAN KING (NZ)- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped on jumping. Laid in and became awkwardly placed on heels near the 200m before being steadied when crowded soon after. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
HERBIE TOWN- Restrained in the early stages to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail.
TREASURER- Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point leaving the 400m, before again being held up from the 300m until a point near the 150m.
BONZABELTER- Buffeted when tightened on jumping and lost ground. Under pressure from the 600m.
BUTT HEADS- Buffeted when tightened on jumping. Lost an off-fore plate in running.
KOGA NINJA- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped. Raced keenly in the back straight.
RACE 8: THE @JACKLEIGHH INSTA STAKES CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
TURN UP THE MUSIC- A post-race veterinary examination revealed significant signs of tying up. Trainer M Currie was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.
ZARIPPA- Bumped on jumping.
KING NEPTUNE (NZ)- Held up for clear running from the 450m until a point leaving the 300m.
CABALETTO- Laid in when being ridden positively shortly after the start taking SKY BLUE in onto the running of SAGA’s GIRL. Jockey J Huxtable was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
HOFFMAN- Bumped on jumping.
SAGA'S GIRL- Bumped on jumping. Steadied from heels near the 950m. Held up for clear running from the 450m until a point leaving the 300m. Laid in under pressure down the running. Lost an off-hind plate in running.
SKY BLUE- Crowded and taken in near the 950m. Held up for clear running from the 450m until a point leaving the 300m.
TRADING ROOM- Began awkwardly and bumped. Steadied from heels near the 900m.
EXPLOSIVE DRAGON- Raced wide for the majority.
BOBBY IS KING- Raced wide throughout. Became awkward in its action near the 300m before being steadied and eased down in the home straight. Pulled up soon after passing the winning post and underwent an immediate veterinary examination which revealed a significant off-fore tendon injury with the gelding subsequently being euthanised on humane grounds. Post-mortem samples were taken for analysis.
