GENERAL
 
App K Lenton and Jockey J Molloy were both reminded of the obligation to arrive oncourse 45minutes prior to their first engagement pursuant to AR128(1).
 

Race 1: MCGREGOR GOURLAY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP         1000m

HEROIC BEACH- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped. Bumped approaching the 600m.
 
EXPRESS CODE- Proved difficult to load. Trainer M Currie was advised a warning would be placed on the mare as a result.
 
HORRIBLE HANK- Began awkwardly. Laid out near the 700m. Laid in under pressure down the running. Jockey H Richardson advised that connections had been pleased with the geldings form in recent jump-outs and trackwork and having won first-up in the past a forward showing had been expected.
 
KING OF GERALDINE- Began awkwardly and bumped heavily. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure down the running. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
SPIRITOF THE OCEAN- Bumped heavily on jumping. Bumped approaching the 600m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISHANI BREEZE- Slow to begin, bumped and was tightened. Bumped the inside running rail when marginally crowded near the 500m.
 

Race 2: MAKTRANS QLD BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP         1625m

SPRAY GUN- Raced wide in the early stages begore being urged forward from the 1500m to settle into the lead nearer the inside running rail near the 1200m. When asked to comment on the performance App R Thorburn advised that his mount had travelled well until asked for an effort near the 350m and failed to respond to his urgings. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
MADALSA- Bumped on jumping.
 
SON OF BEEBEE- Raced keenly near the 1200m. Bumped near the 400m and was taken wider consequently raced in restricted room until the 300m before bumping again near the 200m.
 
MOONSHINE RUN- Bumped on jumping. Shifted out to improve and bumped near the 400m.
 
RINGER'S REWARD- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
SILVER AGENT- Raced keenly near the 1200m. Bumped on several occasions between the 400m and 300m.
 
SOMETHING FORJO- Bumped on jumping. Held up for clear running leaving the 500m. Again held up for clear running leaving the 300m before shifting out near the 200m and being disappointed for a run leaving the 100m and consequently went to the line without being fully tested.
 
BESIEGE- As the gelding was marginally late to arrive on course underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, inclusive of blood tests, and was passed fit to start. Trainers Representative M Nolan was advised to ensure to contact Stewards in similar circumstances to advise of any transport difficulties.
 

Race 3: TILLY'S EARTHMOVING SPARE PARTS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP         1200m

MYSTIC ASCOT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
LOUD HOUSE- Bumped near the 500m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
BLUEY'S CHOICE- Bumped and shifted in before being buffeted and tightened. Obliged to steady from heels near the 1000m and then raced keenly for a short distance thereafter. App R Thorburn was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for consecutive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
TROOPER SAM- Buffeted when tightened soon after the start and was obliged to restrain. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
CANCELLED- Bumped on jumping before becoming awkwardly placed on heels and having to be restrained. Raced keenly near the 700m. Laid in and bumped near the 500m. Improved onto heels near the 400m having to be restrained.
 
CHEEKY'S TIME- Blundered on jumping, shifted in and bumped, crowding runners to the inside despite the efforts of its rider. Shifted in near the 1000m when not fully clear of BLUEY’S CHOICE inconveniencing that runner. Jockey G Cartwright was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
 
LADY BARBAROSSA- Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure down the running. Shifted in passing the winning post and bumped heavily with CHEEKY’S TIME soon after passing the winning post. Jockey K Yoshida was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding and advised to stop and straighten his mounts sooner in similar circumstances.
 
ZOUSAIN GIRL- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped crowding runners to the outside despite the efforts of its rider.
 

Race 4: TOOWOOMBA TRUCK SPARES BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP        1100m

SHALAMAN- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly from the 800m to the 700m.
 
BEAU WITNESS- Raced wide from the 800m.
 
GALWAY HUSSLER- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped.
 
CARRIBEAN KING (NZ)- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
ADALIE- Bumped on jumping. Held up for clear running from the 400m until approaching the 100m.
 

Race 5: GARDEN CITY ROTARY CLUB CLASS 4 HANDICAP         1300m

ESJAY- After beginning only fairly was ridden conservatively in the early stages when posted wide to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail.
 
THE LOUVRE- Raced keenly in the back straight. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
WIREWALKER- Began awkwardly and bumped. App R Thorburn got his whip tangled momentarily near the 50m.
 
GIDDAY GIDDAY- Bumped on jumping.
 
TIGON PRINCESS- Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
BENFICA LASS- Bumped soon after the start.
 
JAMAICAN MECRAZY- Bumped soon after the start.
 

Race 6: CARRINGTON ROAD BAKEAWAY MAIDEN PLATE       1050m

DARTH INVADER- Trainer M Currie was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR65(1) for failing to provide the Thoroughbred Identification Card when requested.
 
SMART MOUTH- Raced wide for the majority.
 
SOUTHAMPTON NICCO- Obliged to steady from heels near the 800m and raced keenly for a short distance after.
 
BOMBARD- Bumped on jumping.
 
MEET THE ROSE- Bumped on jumping.
 
DR FARTHING- Trainer P Webster was reprimanded pursuant to LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Bumped on jumping. Shifted in near the 800m when not fully clear of SOUTHAMPTON NICCO inconveniencing that runner. Jockey L Tilley was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
 
ITALIAN GIRL- Began awkwardly and bumped.
 

Race 7: SHERRIN RENTALS MAIDEN HANDICAP         1890m

WAYBILL- Shifted in and bumped.
 
FUTURE HERO- Took the 1500m course proper crossing awkwardly.
 
JADATAN (NZ)- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly when crossed near the 1600m.
 
RED VEGAS- Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped again. Raced keenly from the 1600m until the 1200m. Raced wide from the 900m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
VISCOUNT SYDNEY- Bumped on the hindquarters and became momentarily unbalanced on jumping. Raced wide from the 1500m.
