SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Toowoomba 29 November 2025

Stewards inquired into Jockey D. Turner’s riding of CHASING TIME over the concluding stages of Race 4, Benchmark 62 Handicap 870m. At a previous inquiry on the day, D. Turner stated that his mount had shifted out under pressure from the 100m, to a point near the 50m in which he began to place pressure on DIAMANTINA ROSE, he then heard a call to his outside and then received contact from DIAMANTINA ROSE on his hindquarters. He added that to relieve the pressure, he had stopped riding immediately for two to three strides. He further added that once he had straightened his mount, he then continued to ride his mount out to the finish. D. Turner stated that he was aware of his position in relation to the finish line at all times, and that his actions in stopping riding to straighten his mount, were meeting his obligations under the rules of racing regarding safety to his fellow riders and horses.

Stewards in considering all evidence before them, specifically the Stewards official head on video footage of this incident, determined that the video footage supported D. Turner’s explanation regarding his riding and formally accepted his explanation and took no further action.

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the footage of the home straight to ascertain whether grounds for an objection were present on behalf of connections of TOP LEVEL (3rd place) against JEDIAH (1st place). After viewing the available footage and with particular consideration given to the beaten margin, no member of the panel elected to lodge any objection.

Race 6: CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP   1890m

BELLACIAOCIAO (FR)- App C Lowe, in the presence of Senior rider K Yoshida, pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding the particulars being that passing the 1650m App Lowe did permit her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of GREY NORTHERN obliging that runner to be severely checked and lose its rightful running. In determining the matter Stewards noted the racing manners of GREY NORTHERN which commenced to over-race as a result of being checked and continued to do so for some distance and may have exacerbated the overall interference caused by App Lowe. However, Stewards were of the view that given the narrow margin of clearance between BELLACIAOCIAO and GREY NORTHERN at the time BELLACIAOCIAO shifted into that runners line, GREY NORTHERN was always going to be obliged to check severely. Additionally, Stewards applied the QRIC careless riding template. App Lowes license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 13days to commence on 14 December, upon the expiration of a previously incurred suspension, up to and including 26 December 2025.
