SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Toowoomba 7 February 2026
Race 3 – Rider D. Boche was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) for permitting TOKYO BANDIT to shift out rounding the home turn when insufficiently clear of HEZA ROMEO (L. Tilley) which had to be steadied.

GENERAL
As apprentice F. Sandkuhl was unable to ride in race 1 due to commitments at the back up Gold Coast Poly track meeting, Stewards permitted apprentice M. Philpot as the replacement rider for LINTHORPE LUCK.

Stewards upon conducting an inspection, downgraded the track to a Soft 7 at 3.30pm.

Trainer T. Pascoe was reprimanded under the provisions of AR227(a) for negligently collecting the incorrect saddle for his runner TOP LEVEL (D. Boche) in race 3, which necessitated rider’s D. Boche and H. Shaw having to re-weigh. In considering penalty, Stewards acknowledged T. Pascoe’s forthright evidence, the fact that he had identified the error at an early stage, that his actions had not caused any time delay to the race and his clear record in relation to this rule as a trainer over a period of twenty years.

RACE 1: SOUTHERN CROSS SHEDS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1300 M

LINTHORPE LUCK – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

STYLISH JOKER – Over raced in the early stages and near the 900m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room when UPSTART LOVER (G. Cartwright) shifted in. Rider G. Cartwright was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.

DECORATIVE – Rider J. Lloyd could not offer an explanation for the overall performance other than the mare may not have handled the prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

TICKLE MY TOSEN – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 300m was eased when tightened for room between MIDNIGHT MIRACLE (K. Lenton) which shifted out marginally and LINTHORPE LUCK (M. Philpot) which laid in despite the efforts of the rider. After considering this incident, Stewards advised both apprentices K. Lenton and M. Philpot to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

MIDNIGHT MIRACLE – Near the 150m was steadied when tightened for room between KINDLY which shifted out marginally and LINTHORPE LUCK (M. Philpot) which laid in when under pressure. Apprentice M. Philpot the rider of LINTHORPE LUCK was reprimanded for careless riding and advised that she would be required to stop riding and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances in the future. Approaching the 100m was placed near heels of runners and was unable to be fully ridden out by the rider before getting clear running over the concluding stages.

Lloyd reported that the gelding settled further back than he wanted and in the middle stages was following horses that did not take him into the race and after shifting wide on the home turn to attain clear running, DECIMUS failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
