RACE 1:RACING NATION ON POWERFM QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
CINCINNATI COBRA – Began awkwardly.
POWER HIT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with MISS INFORMED, resulting in app O. Kendal becoming unbalanced. Shifted out leaving the 200m when app O. Kendal momentarily dropped her reins.
MISS INFORMED – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped POWER HIT.
RACE 2: BARRIER REEF POOLS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1300M
THE DEPUTY (NZ) – Near the 900m, momentarily crowded by TOKYO BANDIT, which laid in.
KAREEM – Slow into stride. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
POWER PACK – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TOKYO BANDIT – Laid in momentarily near the 900m. Rider D. Boche reported the horse wasn’t suited to the early fast tempo and may be better suited with the addition of blinkers and a step up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an abnormal breathing noise. Trainer J. Gleeson was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
POWER OF SUCCESS – Bumped on jumping.
BLUMSTIEN – Bumped on jumping.
RACE 3: 1EQUINE - FOR THE EQUINE ATHLETE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1100M
JEMELDI – Leaving the 900m, raced in restricted room for a considerable distance to the inside of PENINSULA (H. Richardson), clipped heels and blundered. Continued to race in restricted room and approaching the 800m, steadied when PENINSULA crossed when not clear. Became awkwardly placed close to heels approaching the winning post and wasn’t fully tested to the line.
PENINSULA – Rider H. Richardson was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 16 in totality. When determining penalty, Stewards considered rider Richardson’s very good record in relation to this rule and the QRIC whip penalty guidelines.
ADALIE – Co-Trainer C. Geran was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider by the prescribed time. Slow to begin. Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the end of the race without being tested.
LORD PROTECTOR (NZ) – Slow into stride and muster early speed, losing considerable ground.
Rider H. Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that passing the 900m, she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of JEMELDI, resulting in that runner clipping heels and blundering; and then continued to shift in when not clear of JEMELDI approaching the 800m causing that runner to be eased from the heels of PENINSULA. Rider H. Richardson’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 18th April 2026 and to expire midnight 29th April 2026. When determining penalty, Stewards considered the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines.
RACE 4: PLATINUM GLASS & SECURITY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M
MISTER MIGHTY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 400m, steadied when disappointed for a run between KRUMAC and DO WHAT I SAY.
CITY OF TEARS – Laid out for the majority.
KRUMAC – Slow into stride. Rider D. Boche could offer no explanation for the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild thumps.
I'M NELSON – Slow into stride. Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
ELRONTE – Raced keen early.
RACE 5: FLORENCE & MARABEL FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1300M
MADALSA – Approaching the 100m, momentarily steadied and shifted to the outside of ESPRIT DU JOUR to obtain clear running.
PROPHET OF BOOM – Stood flat footed at the start and lost ground.
PORRISTA (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
LAVONI – Slow into stride. App O. Webb reported her mount didn’t respond to her riding throughout and made an abnormal breathing noise during the race, which she believes the mare may have displaced its palate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have soreness in both front fetlocks. Trainer S. Thomas was advised that the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
CRYPT DE PIN – Began awkwardly.
SHE'S BRUTAL – Raced keen early with its head up. Laid in for a short distance leaving the 1000m.
RACE 6: SELECTED SEEDS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
APOLLO MOON – Bumped on jumping.
MYSTIC ASCOT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Shifted in abruptly near the 200m and had to be steadied from the heels of RUMBLE TOWN.
RUMBLE TOWN – Approaching the 800m, steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of TALLEYRAND (N. Fazackerley), which shifted in when not fully clear. Rider N. Fazackerley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Held up approaching the home turn. Leaving the 300m, momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of TALLEYRAND, which initially had shifted out, and then shifted back in whilst weakening.
WHISKEY AND WINE – Bumped on jumping. Bumped on multiple occasions and became unbalanced approaching the 200m by CHOCECLAIR (App S. Callow), which shifted out to obtain clear running. App S. Callow was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
CHOCECLAIR – Approaching the 400m, disappointed for a run between RUMBLE TOWN and WHISKEY AND WINE. Shifted out approaching the 200m and bumped with WHISKEY AND WINE on multiple occasions.
TALLEYRAND – Weakened rounding the home turn. Rider N. Fazackerley reported his mount raced keenly and would take benefit from the run.
RACE 7: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES MAIDEN PLATE 1890M
The start of this race was delayed when FOUR DOZEN OYSTERS was somewhat difficult to load.
FOUR DOZEN OYSTERS – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
LUCKY JOKER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Ipswich 6/4/26. Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ROYSTON – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Ipswich 6/4/26. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
PELLINOR – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Rider D. Boche pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m, 13 in totality. Rider D. Boche’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 16th April 2026 and to expire midnight 24th April 2026. When determining penalty, Stewards considered the QRIC whip penalty guidelines.
HABERFIELD – Leaving the winning post on the first occasion, raced in restricted room and had to be steadied when PELLINOR (D. Boche) shifted in when not clear. Rider D. Boche was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in this incident. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
I'M SO ELEGANT (NZ) – When the pace of the race eased near the 1100m, shifted out and was allowed to stride to obtain the position outside the leader near the 900m.
