Race 2 – STEELE’S BAKERY & CAFÉ QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HCP - 1100M

SPINTHESONY – Began awkwardly, made contact with other runners and as a result lost ground. On returning to scale jockey Bogenhuber reported that her saddle shifted on jumping away, placing her at a disadvantage and as a result the horse took no competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

YOURS TRUTHFULLY – Steadied near the 500m when tightened for room by STARWOOD, which shifted in when not completely clear. Apprentice B. Stower (STARWOOD) was advised to exercise more care.

DEAR HILLARY – Steadied near the 700m when racing in restricted room for a short distance.

BRONZE TIARA – Raced keenly after being crossed by another runner near the 900m and leaving the 800m raced ungenerously for a short distance.

HONEY BE WARNED – Began awkwardly. Had to steady to avoid heels when the pace of the race steadied near the 1000m. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight and near the 200m shifted out to obtain clear running.

CATADAM – Slow to begin. Had to steady to avoid heels when the pace of the race steadied near the 1000m. Bumped heavily near the 700m.

SAINT BARNEY – Had to steady to avoid heels when the pace of the race steadied near the 1000m.

Race 4 – HOPE’S BODY REPAIRS CLASS 4 HCP – 1500M

OLLIE RUNS RIOT – When questioned as to the disappointing performance, apprentice Orman advised that whilst the gelding was able to obtain a forward position through the event, he was unable to obtain this position as comfortably as in its previous starts. He added that the gelding travelled reasonably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure rounding the home turn failed to respond to his riding as he had anticipated and proved disappointing in the home straight. Apprentice Orman further indicated that in his opinion the horse may not have been entirely comfortable on the heavy racing surface today. Stewards noted the explanation.

SARGENOLLY – Jumped away awkwardly, losing ground. Steadied from heels near the 800m. Disappointed for a run rounding the home turn and as a result was forced to shift to the inside to obtain clear running.

I’M NO PUSSY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

SINGARAJA – Slow into stride and failed to muster early speed.

Race 5 – BRIAN BUNCH PLUMBING CLASS 2 HCP – 1100M

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late rider change of A. Spinks on COGNAC PRINCE.

ANGIE’S HEART – When being steadied away from the heels of another runner leaving the 800m raced ungenerously for a short distance and lost ground.
