Race 1: KILLARNEY HOTEL MOTEL BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP– 2000m
KINGSTON TIME- Slow to begin.
TANGARA- After being crossed when leaving the straight on the first occasion, the pace steadied and as a result had to be steadied from heels when racing ungenerously.
Race 2: RAILWAY HOTEL ALLORA MAIDEN PLATE – 1100m
TAKE A GUESS- Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 2:02pm.
QUALITY MAN- Steadied from heels near the 400m when attempting to improve.
SERAPHIMS- Raced wide throughout.
MOOLAH MISS- Steadied when tightened for room near the 100m, when DAZET shifted in when not completely clear. C Maund, the rider of DAZET, was advised to exercise more care.
VIMZIG- Tightened for room and eased near the 200m when QUALITY MAN shifted out. B Evans the rider of QUALITY MAN was reprimanded.
DREAMTIME GAL- Steadied near the 200m.
Race 3: BETTER THAN READY @ LYNDHURST STUDQTIS 3-Y-O 0-70 BENCHMARK H’CAP– 1500m
FINNOMONY- Slow to begin.
NOT CLOSE- Over raced early stages of the event.
BURMESE RUBY- Forced to steady and shift in to avoid a tiring runner near the 400m.
CEBILE- A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the filly to have sustained a superficial laceration to the near fore leg.
AIRMASS- A post-race veterinary inspection of the gelding which weakened over the concluding stages revealed it to have a poor post-race recovery.
Race 4: ERGON ENERGY MAIDEN PLATE – 1500m
BANK JOB- Raced wide throughout.
MR MALU- Near the 800m, raced in restricted room to the inside of SIR ALBERT which was taken in by OUTBACK WRANGLER. E Ljung the rider of OUTBACK WRANGLER was advised to exercise more care.
ZAHAMARIA- Compounded over the concluding stages. Post-race Veterinary inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Ms. J Anderson advised that in light of today’s performance, it is now her intention to retire the filly.
Race 5: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB BENCHMARK 80 H’cap – 1350m
When Apprentice L. Attard was to be overweight, he was replaced as the rider of JOHNNYDRAMA by apprentice E. Ljung. Apprentice L. Attard was fined $100.
WRITER- Slow to begin.
AQUATORIAL- Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid heels near the 650m.
Race 6: HOPES BODY REPAIRS/LANG AND WALKER CLASS 1 H’cap – 1350m
HARMON- Slow to begin.
HENNY BOY- Slow to begin.
BRANDED- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Steadied from heels near the 900m. Hung out rounding the home turn.
BROTHER ELVIS- Near the 800m clipped the heels and blundered. At a subsequent inquiry, Apprentice J. Worley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for permitting BRANDED to shift in at the point when insufficiently clear of BROTHER ELVIS resulting in BROTHER ELVIS clipping heels and blundering. Apprentice Worley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence midnight 20-3-15 and to expire at midnight 29-3-15. When assessing penalty Stewards took into account apprentice Worley’s previous good record in relation to careless riding offences.
Race 7- OLSENS PRODUCE/FREESTONE FEEDLOT CLASS 2 H’cap – 1100m
HAMMERSMITH- Over-raced during the early stages. Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
WOMEN BE SHOPPING- Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track in the home straight.
MISS SNOWSILL- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
FELIX- Forced wider on the track by another runner in the home straight.
