Race 1: Raheen Stud QTIS 3yo Benchmark 65 H’cap – 800m

The start was delayed due to the late arrival of the ambulance on course.

MISS RICCIARDO – Slow to begin.

WHATEVER MISS – Shifted out at the start.

ALL TROOPS – Bucked shortly after the start. Connections were advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.

RALPH THE DRAGON – Obliged to steady from the heels of WHATEVER MISS near the 600m. L. Tilley, rider of WHATEVER MISS, was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground. Hung out throughout and then laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

MISTER JUDGE – Jockey M. O’Brien reported her mount raced greenly throughout. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

FAIR RULER – Obliged to steady from the heels of MARAUDING’S GIRL at the 200m. Jockey S. Apthorpe, rider of MARAUDING’S GIRL, was reminded of his obligations to be fully clear when shifting ground.


Race 2: XXXX Gold Maiden Plate – 800m

UNIT – Slow to begin.

DANCE HALO – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.

COUNTRY MAIL – Bumped at start and lost ground.

DARTH TRAYA – Raced greenly in the middle stages.

NEOPHYTE – Apprentice M. Schrapel reported his mount hung out throughout.

STORM ANCHOR – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice T. Brooker was dislodged after passing the winning post and was transported to hospital by ambulance. Apprentice Brooker will require a medical clearance prior to riding again. Rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.


Race 3: Johnny Barbierato Memorial Maiden H'cap – 1350m

The start of this race was delayed awaiting the arrival of a replacement ambulance.

CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin.

YULETIDE – Slow to begin.

COURT EXPRESS – Raced wide from the 800m and was carried wider around the home turn by SECRET LISTENER.

TWEEDIES – Raced awkwardly at the heels of TRE BROWN, which was tiring near the 200m, and was held up until near the 150m.

GO WEST TO COSTA – Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, apprentice B. Newport reported his mount did not handle the firm track conditions.

SCARLEE BLACK - Jockey S. Drake reported her mount hung out throughout the race.

CAMPAIGN TRAIL – Raced wide throughout and raced ungenerously approaching the home turn.

Race 4: Carey Bros Meats/Lion Nathan F&M Class 1 H'cap – 1350m

IMILCHE – Fractious in the float en route to the course and was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Shifted in despite the efforts of its rider near the 1000m and bumped heavily with SHAAN’S JEWEL.

FEYTALISTIC – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

RITZY BELLE – Steadied from heels approaching the 600m.

SHAAN’S JEWEL – Bumped heavily near the 1000m. Steadied from heels approaching the 600m.

ZANY LASS – Raced in restricted room near the 400m.

GRACE ACE – Raced wide and hung out throughout and laid in in the home straight.

ROCK ‘N’ TONE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey L. Tilley was fined $200 for returning to scale overweight.


Race 5: XXXX Gold Australian Pale Ale CG&E Class 1 H'cap – 1350m

TANI TEI EN – Bumped at the start.

NAUTICAL LAD – Bumped at the start.

SANSHO DAYU – Bumped at the start. Overraced in the early stages.

AHA I SEE – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

REAL TRICKY – Raced ungenerously and bumped another runner near the 900m.

SHOWAMIA – Bumped near the 900m.

NANDINE ROAD – Steadied near the 400m. Apprentice B. Derbyshire reported her mount hung in in the home straight, which prevented her from riding the horse out to the finish. Raced wide throughout.

WORLD SERIES – Slow to begin. Apprentice B. Ainsworth reported her whip broke approaching the home turn.

CROSSBITE – Raced wide throughout.

LIGHT PHILOU – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had been galloped on on the off hind leg.


Race 6: Hahn Super Dry 3.5 Class 3 Plate – 1500m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by jockey J. Kokotajlo, rider of the third placegetter, WHO’S THAT CAT, against SAIL THE STARS being declared first, alleging interference over the final 200m. After taking evidence from the riders concerned and viewing the patrol video, the protest was dismissed. Jockey Kokotajlo was subsequently fined $200 for lodging what the stewards deemed to be a frivolous protest.

CHEEKYBOI – Slow to begin. Jockey S. Drake will be interviewed at a later date regarding her riding over the concluding stages.

CASINO EXPRESS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

WHO’S THAT CAT – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

CHILLI BEACH – Began awkwardly. Tightened for room near the 1000m.

SAIL THE STARS – Tightened for room shortly after the start.

WAR FRONT – Bumped near the 1300m. Had to be checked when tightened for room near the 1000m. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.

ZOUAVES – Bumped near the 1300m. Hung in throughout. Stewards will contact trainer S. Burns at a later date regarding the horse’s racing manners.

HEREAFTER – Tightened for room from the 1000m until being steadied near the 800m.

WHITE RAIN – Bumped with WAR FRONT and ZOUAVES near the 1300m and had to be checked. Bumped near the 200m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to the horse’s next race start.

O’GRADY – Bumped near the 200m.

Race 7: Warwick Credit Union Ratings Band 0-62 H'cap – 1200m

Correct weight was delayed to allow L. Tilley, rider of the 2nd placegetter, Steel To The Heel to examine the photo-finish. Subsequently correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

DHARAVI – Refused to jumped with the field. Connections were advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to its next race start.

CONHENRI – Bumped at the start.

OLLIE RUNS RIOT – Bumped at the start.

BELWINA – Slow to begin.

HAD BE AT HELLO – Bumped at the start.

LANDALE – Bumped at the start. Obliged to steady from the heels of WILLOW MIST at the 100m. Raced wide throughout.

HOT TESTA – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer L. Hatch advised that this was the horse’s second start for the stable and at its previous start when first up ran on very well over the concluding stages.

WILLOW MIST – Obliged to steady from the heels of CONHENRI near the 100m.

Race 8: XXXX Bitter Class 4 H'cap - 1100m

DALINE – Following Race 7, M. Schrapel was examined by ambulance officers and stood down from his engagement. L. Tilley was substituted as the rider of the horse.

MONSIEUR HUGHES – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse.

AMERICAN SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Hung out and raced ungenerously in the middle stages.

LORD BEAUFORT – Tightened for room at the start.

CHARGE MISSILE – Jumped inwards at the start.

RACECRAFT – Slow to begin and overraced in the early stages.

NARCISSUS – Raced wide throughout.
