RACE 1: DAVID CORY PATRON'S BM55 H’CAP – 2000M

INIQUITY – When questioned regarding the horse’s poor performance, apprentice J. Orman stated that his mount travelled keenly throughout the event, however when placed under pressure failed to stretch out as he had anticipated, which he attributed to the Firm 2 track today. Trainer C. Allardyce advised that in light of today’s performance the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell.

COUP D’ETAT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

STAR FORMATION – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 600m to the 150m. When questioned regarding the horse’s poor performance, jockey S. Bogenhuber indicated that the tempo of today’s event did not suit her mount and that she was unable to obtain clear running in the first half of the home straight.

ROYALTOWN ROAD – Raced wide throughout.

CHANGLY – Raced keenly in the early stages. S. Drake was reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

NO NEGATIVE WAVES – Raced wide throughout.

SHERBET – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Steadied near the 800m when placed in restricted room by CUSTER’S REWARD, which shifted in. J. Hoopert, the rider of CUSTER’S REWARD, was reminded of his obligation to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

RACE 2: XXXX GOLD QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 800M

ROCK ‘N’ RHUMBA – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.

TERRASAURUS – Hung out approaching the 700m and became awkwardly placed on heels for a short distance.

CAPTAIN TO A TEE – Apprentice E. Ljung reported at scales that her mount raced greenly throughout.

KARRIE ME NINA – R. Goltz reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.

ENCORE SALL – Jumped away awkwardly.

PIRELLI PRINCESS – Blundered on jumping.

KODAJET – Jumped out at the start, hampering BETTER OFFER. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 3: MAYDAN FEEDLOT MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M

Trainer M. Kropp was fined $100 for the late declaration of E. Ljung as the rider of SECRETS SURROUND.

DALIWOY BAY – Raced greenly in the home straight.

FYNNSTAR – Began awkwardly, made contact with another runner and became unbalanced. Raced three wide throughout.

REAL GOOD STORY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

REVERSE LOGIC – Bumped at the start.

DATASTAR – Began awkwardly.

AGORA – Slow to begin.

SECRETS SURROUND – Raced wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn. Apprentice E. Ljung was reminded of her obligations regarding whip use prior to the 100m.

ON A ZEPHYR – Disappointed for a run near the 200m.

ROUGE SUN – Raced wide throughout.

SKYLAR’S STAR – S. Drake was severely reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

Following severe electrical storms and rainfall, the track was downgraded to GOOD 4 at 2.53 pm, and the remaining races were rescheduled to be run at the following times:

Race 4 – 3.22 pm; Race 5 – 4.02 pm; Race 6 – 4.42 pm; Race 7 – 5.20 pm

RACE 4: HAHN SUPER DRY 3.5 CLASS 3 PLATE – 1500M

STREET FEVER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Forced to shift wider near the 800m and travelled wide from that point onwards. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, trainer B. Currie could offer no explanation, however undertook to report to stewards if any abnormalities come to light in the days following the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

ROBARD – Slow to begin.

RACE 5: XXXX BITTER MAIDEN PLATE – 1500M

YOURS TRUTHFULLY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

DUBLEO’S LAD – Slow to begin.

EXTREME STYLE – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

IDEAL WALTZ – Blundered and fell after passing winning post, dislodging apprentice L. Attard. Apprentice Attard was subsequently transported to the Warwick Base Hospital for treatment. A post-race veterinary examination of IDEAL WALTZ revealed no significant abnormalities.

PRECIOUS EMBERS – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Improved onto heels near the 300m, was checked and became unbalanced.

TYCOON’S PARTY – Laid in in the home straight, preventing apprentice E. Ljung from riding her mount out with her usual vigour.

OUR LITTLE MISSY – Began awkwardly. S. Drake was fined $100 for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

RACE 6: LION NATHAN CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M

OMEGA – Tightened for room and had to be checked near the 800m when SHE’S A KICKER shifted in. Apprentice B. Newport, the rider of SHE’S A KICKER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for allowing his mount to shift in at that point when insufficiently clear of OMEGA. Apprentice Newport’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 19 December and expire at midnight on Sunday 27 December 2015.

RAINY GREY – Checked from heels and shifted out near the 800m.

SHE’S A KICKER – B. Newport was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

SMINCHA – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 1200m. Steadied when tightened for room near the 800m. Apprentice J. Oliver was reminded of his obligations regarding whip use prior to the 100m.

COCKTAIL THONG – S. Drake was fined $100 for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

ROUGH AND RECKLESS – Tightened for room near the 800m and had to be steadied.

RACE 7: HECTOR HOCKINGS MEMORIAL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1100M

Correct weight was delayed to allow H. Phillips, the rider of 3rd placegetter OLLIE RUNS RIOT to view the photo finish for 3rd. After viewing the print apprentice Phillips was satisfied with the Judge’s placings.

FELIX – Raced wide throughout.

OLLIE RUNS RIOT – Apprentice H. Phillips was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

A LADYS COMPLIMENT – Began awkwardly.

DAZET – M. O’Brien was fined $100 for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

LE CHACAL – Hung out rounding the turn near the 700.

SPURSYN – Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Momentarily steadied from heels rounding the home turn.

GUMDALE BOY – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with PRINCE OF PEACE.

I GOT TRIX – Steadied from heels near the 250m when NOOR DROPPER shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

CHINABOB – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer G. Taylor reported that the gelding was having its first start since May, and races well when resuming from a spell.
