SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Toowoomba 15.05.21
 
Trainer M Nolan advised that following the poor performance of FRASCATI MISS, it is now the intention for the mare to leave his stable.
 
GENERAL
 
As Jockey M McGillivray was not riding at the meeting due to personal reasons, he was replaced as per the Stewards Summary.
 
 
 
Race 1: GMS AG SPREADING SERVICES QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden
Plate 800 metres
 
The start was delayed when GREY INFERNO cast a plate en route to the barriers which required refitting.
 
PUBLICAN'S PURSE- Raced wide throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey B Appo was reprimanded for using his whip on consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
 
SIR JOHNY- Slow to begin and then shifted out abruptly shortly after the start.
 
SPANKY BANDIT- Jumped in the air at the start losing ground.
 
 
BELLA'S BEAT- Laid out in the middle stages. App. S Stephan reported her saddle shifted back during the event placing her at a disadvantage.  
 
ELBOWVALLEY DANCER- Slow to begin and then bumped heavily at the start.
 
GREY INFERNO- Tightened for room at the start.
 
HILL BILLY FLYER- Slow to begin.
 
PISCATAWAY- Began awkwardly making very heavy contact with another runner. Steadied to avoid heels near the 600m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 2: FRASERS LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT QTIS Two-Year-Old
Maiden Plate 800 metres  
 
Following the running of Race 1, the track was upgraded to a good 4, retrospective to include Race 1.
 
SHEPPEY–After slipping over in the tie-up stalls, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and was passed fit to start.
 
BOLD RANSOM- Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the home straight shifting very wide on the track.
 
JIMMY COPPER- Began awkwardly. Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 600m.
 
RYAN'S ROULETTE- Began awkwardly.
 
WAY OF THE WORLD- Began awkwardly.
 
A FAIR SWEAR- Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
DUBLIN DE QUO- Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping and became unbalanced.
 
EMMY REGINA- Tightened for room at the start. Jockey A Spinks was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the conclusion of the event.
 
MISS PIPER- Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 3: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
ANGEL GRACE- Declared a late scratching at 10:45am after sustaining an injury whilst being loaded onto the float. Trainer B Gorman was advised he would be required to obtain a Veterinary clearance for the filly prior to it next racing.
 
SAM'S A NATURAL- Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of the of the gelding revealed it to have been galloped on on the off hind leg.
 
OUR DOLL–Began awkwardly. Steadied when awkwardly placed between runner near the 500m.
 
ELA BEACH- Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
SUPER ONE SUSIE- Steadied to avoid heels shortly after the start.
 
 
TRY TO BE GOOD- Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.
 
 
Race 4: HUTCHISON QUARRIES Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
Due to a member of the public requiring attention from the Ambulance officials, the starting time of this race was amended to 2:07pm. The remining starting times were amened as follows-
 
Race 5- 2:37pm
Race 6- 3:07pm
Race 7- 3:38pm
Race 8- 4:09pm
Race 9- 4:442pm.
 
The start of this event was further delayed to allow the broadcast of an interstate event.
 
SO SUPER- Rider accidently dropped his whip near the 200m.
 
REAPO ROCKY- Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained during the middle stages. Disappointed for a run and steadied the 200m.
 
KABALEGA- Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride out.
 
UNSUSPECTED- Disappointed for a run when prevented from shifting wider by another runner near the 600m.
 
BELLICIOUS- Raced wide throughout.
 
POWERWOLF (NZ)- Held up rounding the home turn.
 
ELITE ELIZABETH- Slow to begin, and then clipped heels shortly after the start and blundered. Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted wider by its rider near the 250m to avoid heels.

BOLD ANGEL- Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TEVERINA- Began awkwardly. Hung out during the middle stages. Steadied from heels near the 600m. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 5: WARWICK CREDIT UNION WARWICK CUP 9TH OCT 21 Fillies
and Mares RATINGS 1100 metres
 
CITRUS BURST (NZ)- Declared a late scratching at 8:25am. Subsequently Trainer B Smith was fined $200 for failing to scratch the gelding by the prescribed time.
 
DANCES WITH TIME- Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
VOGUE ROCK- Steadied to avoid heels shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
STRALEX- Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SILVAPLANA- Knuckled on jumping away.
 
BLOODBLISTER- Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
 
SECONDOFMAY- Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 850m.
 

Race 6: TED DONEGAN (WTC LIFE MEMBER) MEMORIAL Colts,
Geldings & Entires RATIN 1100 metres
 
NAKANAI– As the gelding is 12yo, it was examined by the Veterinary surgeon prior to the event and passed suitable to race. Tightened on jumping.
 
NEWS DIRECTOR- Laid out during the middle stages. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority.
 
BY BY MUSIC- Began awkwardly.
 
CRAZY GOOD- Fractious in the barriers. Knuckled on jumping away. Held up for a considerable distance approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
GREY NOISE- Jockey J Orman pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) in that he failed to ride GREY NOISE out to the conclusion of the event. Jockey Orman was fined $400. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful his actions may have cost GREY NOISE 3rd placing
 
WATCHING- Raced 4 wide with cover for the majority.
 
BEL BEAU- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LITTLE NATURAL- Raced ungenerously during the early and middle stages.
 
KEEPMOVING FORWARD- Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIR PICCOLO- Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority. Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
OUR ROCKY- Near the 900m, raced in restricted room and was eased.
 
RULE BREAKER- Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 7: ERGON ENERGY Class 3 Plate 1350 metres
 
STAY SMART- Lost a near for plate in running.
 
WATCH THE CAT- Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer B Lockwood was advised he would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it next racing.
 
 
Race 8: GILLOTT CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
APITHANOS- Began awkwardly.
 
SERTIN- Bumped on jumping.
 
JAYDEE INDY- Jumped in the air at the start.
 
NICCONITA- Slow to begin.
 
THE LAUNCHER- Connections advised the gelding would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 800m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GRANDIOSO- Bumped on jumping.
 
LADY MELBA (NZ)- Laid in under pressure in the home straight. App K. Wilson-Taylor pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. App. Willson-Taylor’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 Days to commence m/n 29.05.21 and to expire at midnight 08.06.21. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful that this was App. Wilson-Taylor’s 19th offence since the introduction of the Rider Penalty Guidelines for whip breaches.
 
 
 
 
Race 9: 9 WARWICK SCREENPRINTING & EMBROIDERY BENCHMARK 55
Handicap 1350 metres
 
MIGHTY MOOSE- Began awkwardly.
 
REDZEB- Bumped on the hindquarters on a number of occasions during the middle stages by the riderless horse. Held up rounding the home turn. On returning to scale it was observed that the gelding was galloped on the off hind leg during the event.
 
THE KNIGHT- Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey R Palmer was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
ALL JEED UP- Began awkwardly.
 
DELCHUZY- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
DINNY'S A SUSPECT- Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority. Momentarily forced to steady to avoid heels near the 200m.
 
SPIN THAT WHEEL- Reared at the start striking its head on the barrier resulting in Jockey Masuda also striking his head on the barrier partition and being dislodged. Trainer E Ensby was advised he would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it next racing.
 
In this incident Jockey Masuda sustained a minor laceration to his face. Jockey Masuda was advised he will be required to obtain a medical clearance prior to next riding.  
 
QUEENS DO DREAM- Tightened for room on jumping. Jockey A Allan could offer no explanation in relation to the below market expectation performance. Stewards will follow up J Shelton in the days following today’s meeting in relation to the horses post race recovery.
 
REMEMBER BELLA- Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS-Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
