GENERAL
Due to an injury at trackwork, C Taylor was unable to fulfill his engagements. C Taylor was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. Replacements as per the race day summary.
 
Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider alteration on THE HOOLIGAN due to L Tilley having engagements at the Toowoomba twilight meeting. Replacement as per the race day summary.
 
After the running of Race 2, N Evans advised stewards that he was experiencing pain in his right foot due to contacting the barriers on jumping and that he would not be fulfilling his remaining engagement. Jockey N Evans was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. Replacement as per race day summary.
 
After the running of Race 4, G Walters advised stewards that he was feeling the effects of wasting and he would be unable to fulfill his engagement at the Toowoomba twilight meeting. G Walters will be advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again.
 
Race 1: WARWICK AUTOMOTIVE MAIDEN Plate 800 metres
 
GOLDEN WHITT – Bumped on jumping.
 
TAKEAWAY BRIDE – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost ground. Trainer W Oakenfull was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
GREYT EFFORT – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight. Rider S Sweedman reported that the mare got its tongue over the bit during the run and that he has advised connections to enact a gear change to prevent a re-occurrence.
 
ZARAGIGI – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2: GROVE JUICE QTIS MAIDEN Plate 1350 metres
BARTA LINES – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
KABALEGA – Slow into stride.
 
KINGSFORD TIGER – Rider N Evans reported that he contacted his right foot on the barriers on jumping. He advised that this prevented him from placing the gelding under full pressure throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
THE CROW MAN – Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIR LOUIE – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 200m was bumped.
 
STYK AT IT – Over the concluding stages raced in restricted room.
 
Race 3: BILL & MARGARET HOIBERG MEMORIAL CLASS B Handicap 1350 metres
 
DINNY’S A SUSPECT – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
FOXY ROSE – Near the 250m laid in and bumped FOXY ROSE. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
GREYT INTENTIONS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Near the 250m bumped with FOXY ROSE, which laid in.
 
COFFEE COMING – Slow into stride.
 
BUSH SHINDIG – Stewards permitted rider B Appo to ride the gelding half a kilogram over its declared weight of 55kgs. Slow into stride. Rider B Appo was reminded of his obligation regarding the use of the whip when his mounts are out of contention.
 
SHEINDLIN – Stewards permitted replacement rider L Tilley to ride the mare half a kilogram over its declared weight of 55kgs.
 
Race 4: ERGON ENERGY PICNIC CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap Handicap
1500 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed after the photo finish malfunctioned, requiring the judge to view the patrol footage to ascertain the placings. There was a further delay to correct weight when L Tilley (SALAZAR) asked to view the patrol footage in the home straight. After viewing the film, he declined to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared.
 
APITHANOS – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
SALAZAR – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 100m was momentarily crowded.
 
GRATSIE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
RUBY RUSH – Passing the 250m was bumped by GRATSIE, which laid out. Inclined to shift out when placed under pressure in the home straight before corrected near the 100m.
 
OUR ROCKY – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: SOUTHERN DOWNS AG BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
BLUE TYCOON – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
THE HOOLIGAN – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and refused to jump with the field. Trainers representive Mr S Andrews was advised that considering the history of the gelding, it would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards on two consecutive occasions prior to racing again.
 
LOVESON – Raced wide and without cover in the early stages.
 
RINGO’s MAGIC – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
