GENERAL
 
After an inspection of the jockeys room by members of the Qld Racing Integrity Commission’s Integrity Investigations Team a number of mobile phones were ceased. The following charges resulted from an inquiry into these incidents:
 
·         Jockey N. Day was fined $500 under AR.218(4)(c) for using his mobile phone in the jockeys room.
·         Jockey C. Meehan was fined $300 under AR.218(4)(b) for having his mobile phone in his possession whilst in the jockeys room.
·         Jockey M. Butler was fined $300 under AR.218(4)(b) for having his mobile phone in his possession whilst in the jockeys room.
 
As Jockey L. Tilley was overweight he was subsequently replaced as per the stewards summary in races two and eight. Jockey Tilley was fined $400 under AR.190(3)
 
Due to current covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following weight variation:
 
Race 2 – Chris Meehan – BONNIE ROMANCE – 54.5kg (+1.0kg)
 
Race 1: RANBUILD WARWICK - SCOTTY ELLIS MEMORIAL Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
BIG TALK- Tightened for room on jumping.
 
DUSTY HAZE- Jumped awkwardly and made contact with HELLO I WANT YOU.
 
HELLO I WANT YOU - Bumped on jumping. Hung out on the home turn. Upon returning to scale Jockey M. Butler advised that his saddle shifted back on jumping and as a result he was unable to fully test his mount during the event.
 
ONES ENUFF - Hung out in the early stages and shifted out abruptly near the 700 metres. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
QUEENS GUARD - Steadied from the heels of ONES ENUFF near the 700 metres.
 
RED DRESS - Jumped awkwardly.
 
SHEZANUISANCE - Jumped awkwardly.
 
DEVILS RITE - Shifted in under pressure in the closing stages.
 
GOLDEN WHITT - Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 2: SUB-ZERO AIRCONDITIONING Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
CANNY CAT – Raced 3 wide with cover in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIR LOUIE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
JIMMY PLOD – Hung out shortly after the start. Lost an off-hind plate in running. Shortly after the winning post was forced to steady from heels when AVESUM PIXIE DUST shifted in. Jockey W. Peel (the rider of AVESUM PIXIE DUST) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a).
 
WHISKEY ROW– Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels near the 1200 metres. Held up from the 600 metres until approaching the 300 metres.
 
AVESUM PIXIE DUST– Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
IRONSTONE GAL – Slow to begin.
 
GOLDEN EMBERS – Tailed off from the 500m taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer L. Roche was advised the mare would be barred from racing at Metropolitan and Provincial TAB meetings until its form improves.
 
Race 3: GROSS WHOLESALE MEATS Maiden Handicap 1350 metre
 
CURLEYS PRIDE – Bumped on jumping.
 
PIZZO - Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 900 metres.
 
PAST PRICE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground after bumping CURLEYS PRIDE.  On returning to scale apprentice N.Fazackerley reported that the mare got its tongue over the bit during the race.
 
ELUETERIO – Jumped awkwardly.
 
STRONG AND FAST – Slow into stride.
 
MAXS SOURCE – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BLAZING FAIRY – Held up rounding the home turn
 
HIDDEN LILY – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 900 metres improved on to heels and had to be restrained. Shifted out leaving the 900m and raced wide for the remainder.
 
TRY TO BE GOOD – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
FROM THE GONG – Apprentice I. Teh was fined $300 for her use of the whip prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
 
Race 4: HIRE SOLUTIONS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55  Handicap 1350 metres
 
FINGERTIPS – Raced with its head in the air when being restrained approaching the 1000 metres. When racing ungenerously, improved on to heels and had to be restrained approaching the 900 metres.
 
SPURIOUS – At the150 metres the gelding had to be steadied from heals when PARLOUR (Jockey N Thomas) shifted out marginally. Jockey N Thomas was advised to exercise more care.
 
LA RAPIDE – Slow into stride. A warning was placed on the mare for being fractious in the barriers.
 
CITRUS BURST (NZ) – Stood flat footed and was slow to begin. Raced ungenerously and had to be restrained off heels approaching the 900 metres.
 
PARLOUR – Shifted out at the 150 metres.
 
MARRIED IN VEGAS – Stood flat footed and was slow to begin.
 
PETITE ELLE – Jockey G Goomany lost his offside iron on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages in the race and at a point approaching the 900 metres improved onto heels and was forced to restrain.
 
CONGENIAL MISTRESS – Tightened for room and lost ground on jumping. Jockey B. Ainsworth was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 5: WARWICK VET CLINIC RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1350 metres
 
INSIDE INFORMATION – Began awkwardly.
 
CANISTER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DEUBANK – Bumped on jumping. Jockey B. Ainsworth was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
REFLECTIVE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
BUSH SHINDIG – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
 
Race 6: FRASERS LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT NEWMARKET BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1100 metres
 
WAIT A MINUTE – Slow to begin. Held up from the 500 metres until the early part of the home straight. Shifted out to obtain clear running at the 300 metres and bumped with GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS. Laid in down the home straight.
 
VICEMAN – Jumped awkwardly.
 
GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS – Bumped by WAIT A MINUTE at the 300 metres.
 
Race 7: WARWICK HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100 metre
 
GO WANDJI – Jumped awkwardly making contact with the inside barrier partition.
 
KOBANG – Bumped on jumping.
 
TOECANARGIE MAN – Began awkwardly.
 
FESTIVAL PRINCE – Laid in down the home straight.
 
SAMS A NATURAL – Shifted in at the 250 metres and made heavy contact with A GIRL LIKE ALICE.
 
A GIRL LIKE ALICE – Bumped on jumping. Bumped heavily by SAMS A NATURAL at the 250 metres.
 
STATEMENT OF FAITH – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 600 metres. Laid out in the home straight.
 
Race 8: WARWICK CREDIT UNION WARWICK CUP OPEN Handicap 1500 metres
 
RHYME NOR RHYTHM – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained and shifted in abruptly at the 1200 metres taking TEARS OF LOVE in towards the rail. Apprentice J. Molloy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
TEARS OF LOVE – Taken in at the 1200 metres when RHYME NOR RHYTHM shifted in abruptly despite the best efforts of its rider. Apprentice I. Rabjones was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
FACTORY WARRIOR – Began Awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SMOKEY DIAMOND – Slow into stride.
 
TEST OF WAR – When questioned about the below market performance of the gelding jockey S Bogenhuber reported that her mount travelled well throughout the early and middle stages and failed to respond to hard riding from the 500 metres. Stewards will speak to trainer L Clarke about the horses post race recovery in the coming days.
 
ESKDALE GIRL – Laid in throughout.
 
Race 9: HUTCHISON QUARRIES BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1350 metre
 
BROCKY – At a point leaving the 200m had to be checked from heels and lost ground when LOUIE LA’JOY (Jockey C. Meehan) shifted out. Jockey C. Meehan was found guilty of carless riding under AR.131(a) in that from a point approaching the 200m, he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of BROCKY resulting in that runner being checked from heels and lost ground. Jockey Meehan’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 13/10/2021 and to conclude midnight 21/10/2021.
 
LOUIE LA’JOY – At a point approaching the 250m, shifted out across heels to obtain clear running when MOJO BABY laid in despite the best efforts of its rider.
 
SHAME JOB – Slow to begin. Approaching the 900 metres momentarily raced in restricted room when ABB ROY shifted in. Apprentice Z Sprie was advised by Stewards to exercise more care.
 
CAIRNDOW – Knuckled on jumping and lost ground. Laid in on the home turn.
 
MOJO BABY – Tightened shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ABB ROY – Began awkwardly. Apprentice Z Sprie was advised by Stewards to exercise more care after shifting in on SHAME JOB at the 900 metres.
 
HARADIFY – Jockey J. Oliver was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
