BAMBINO DI VINO- Began awkwardly.
Race 3: 'SECRETARY'S CUP - THANKS TO THE HOIBERG FAMILY' BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1100m
LITTLE SHOW- Laid out rounding the home turn. Became awkwardly placed on heels when unable to improve into a run to the inside of MISHANI EXPRESS approaching the 200m having to be steadied and shifted out. App M Goring was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR123(1) in that he was mounted and had commenced proceeding to the barriers when not wearing an approved safety vest. In considering the matter Stewards noted that App Goering had quickly identified the error and returned to the mounting yard and retrieved his safety vest before re-mounting and proceeding to the barriers. Stewards also determined that the breach had occurred as a result of a mistake and not any ill-intent or nefarious action on behalf of App Goering.
CHISUM- Bumped on jumping and again soon after.
ALLEZIZZY- Tightened, bumped and obliged to restrain losing its rightful running leaving the 900m.
MISHANI EXPRESS- Bumped near the 800m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer D Stanbridge advised on 22 June that the filly had pulled up well following the event and she remained at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. Ms Stanbridge advised it would be the intention for the stable veterinarian to examine the filly in the coming days and undertook to advise should anything become apparent.
BY BY MUSIC- Bumped leaving the 900m.
MR EVANS- Shifted in when not fully clear of POLYGAL near the 800m momentarily inconveniencing that runner. App L O’Donnell was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. In considering the matter Stewards were of the view that the interference was minimal however the degree of carelessness was of a culpable nature. Laid out under pressure down the running.
MASTER MIYAGI- Over-raced near the 900m.
MY TURN ASTERN- Fractious in the mounting yard. Trainers Representative Mr K Sims was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding as a result. Bumped on jumping.
KOGA NINJA- When queried regarding the above market performance Trainer S Thomas advised that the stable had expected a forward showing and had modestly supported the gelding with bookmakers with KOGA NINJA having been working well and, in his opinion, having been unlucky in some if its recent outings with solid performances leading into todays event. Laid in under pressure down the running. App C Krahnen pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that leaving the 900m she did permit her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ALEZIZZY tightening that runner obliging it to be restrained and lose its rightful running. App Krahnens license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 8-days to commence 22 June up to and including 29 June 2025. App Krahnen was advised of her right to an appeal.
POLYGAL- Momentarily inconvenienced and bumped near the 800m. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight before being shifted in.
EASY COME- Bumped soon after the start. App S Willis advised that her mount had hung in for the majority.
Race 4: WARWICK AUTOMOTIVE GROUP PICNIC CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1500m
Soon after the placings were semaphored it was identified that MAGIC IN ME (1) had been erroneously been semaphored as placing 4th instead of HIMORHER (5). Stewards inspected the official photo finish image for 4th placing and confirmed HIMORHER had placed 4th and MAGIC IN ME 5th prior to the declaration of correct weight.
MAGIC IN ME- Became awkwardly placed on heels near the 1400m. Stewards queried App Goerings riding of gelding over the final stages as it appeared he had misjudged the winning post for a stride before aging riding his mount out immediately after. App Goering advised he had not misjudged the winning post however when returning to hand-and-heels riding over the final strides his reins had momentarily become awkwardly causing it to appear as if he had. Stewards noted the explanation.
THE SHAMAN- Bumped near the 1300m.
AMENOPHIS- Bumped near the 1300m.
HIMORHER- Laid out near the 900m.
HUSSON'S REVENGE- Trainer R Pereira advised on 22 June that the gelding had pulled up well and had been sent for a short freshen up. Adding further that she felt the gelding had settled too far back in the field which had been detrimental in its finishing efforts.
MISHANI ECLIPSE- Bumped near the 1300m, shifted in and bumped again. Laid in under pressure down the running.
ARIAT- Bumped the inside running rail near the 1000m. Improved on heels near the 400m having to be steadied. Laid in under pressure down the running.

Race 5: ERGON ENERGY OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
RUBY JULY- Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. FIRE KING- Declared a late scratching at 11:25am after becoming fractious in the horse transport vehicle. Trainer O Cairns was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
