RACE 1: WARWICK POLICE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m
PETITE PALACE- Raced keenly near the 900m. Held up for clear running for a short distance near the 400m before shifting wider and bumping to obtain clear running near the 350m.
MISHANI STORM- Began awkwardly and bumped.
LADY ZAYDI- Bumped on jumping. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.
READY GREY- Tired noticeably from the 200m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
WISE CHOICE- Bumped and taken wider near the 350m. Shifted ground under pressure down the running.
BRAVE JET- Began awkwardly.
RACE 2: PICKLEBET’S GET YOUR PICKLE ON 1200M MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
HOT SUMMER- Bumped on jumping. Jockey L Tilley advised that he would expect an improved performance with a step up in distance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
ABRAHAM- Raced wide for the majority.
EXPRESS STAR- Momentarily steadied near 1100m. Laid in and became awkwardly placed on heels approaching the 200m.
SMART MOUTH- Bumped on jumping.
LINWAR- Connections advised it would be the intention to have the gelding ridden further back in the field, circumstances permitting. Was ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
MR HANKY PANKY- Bumped on jumping, shifted out and bumped again. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was momentarily crowded near the 150m.
SILVER AGENT- Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
ARIYAH- Shifted in and momentarily hampered EXPRESS STAR near the 1100m. Jockey C Bayliss was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
HONEST DOLL- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 12:43pm.
ELEGANT STAR- Knuckled on jumping.
SLEEPY JOE- As Jockey A Goindasamy was not riding at today’s meeting due to illness, Stewards permitted Jockey N Tomizawa to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey Goindasamy was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to again being permitted to ride in a race. Bumped on jumping.
XTRAVAGANT GIFT- Difficult to load. Trainer N Silankoski was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding as a result.
RUPEEZY- As App C Vitler was delayed arriving on course due to transport difficulties Stewards permitted App B Baker to be substituted as rider of the mare. Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped. Shifted ground under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
RACE 3: WARWICK FIRE EMERGENCY SERVICES OPEN HANDICAP 1350m
PICKO ROCKS- Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 500m.
CELESTIAL HARBOUR- Shifted ground under pressure down the running.
DRANG A TANG- Raced keenly in the back straight.
UNCOMMON VALOUR- Raced wide throughout.
SILVER CITY- Tired noticeably over the final 100m. Jockey J Murphy was unable to offer anything tangible in relation to the poor performance. Trainer M Currie advised that, in his opinion, the gelding is better suited when able to be ridden with cover and may not be suited to the venue having had two poor performances at Warwick. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 4: WARWICK EDUCATION FACULTY BM55 HANDICAP 800m
BAD FOREST- Raced keenly when being restrained in the early stages in an effort to obtain cover, was unable to do so and raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey J Bayliss dropped his whip near the 200m.
ASTIN LANE- As App M Goring was unable to fulfil his engagements Stewards permitted App C Wells to be substituted as rider of the mare. Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped again.
HOKUSAI- Began very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped heavily.
DAWYN'S CHOICE- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Laid out rounding the home turn. Steadied from heels soon after passing the winning post.
TRADING ROOM- Took charge of its rider in the preliminary and bolted a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed fit to start. Bumped on the hindquarters soon after the start.
ARTOPIA- Bumped heavily on jumping. Became awkwardly placed on heels near the 200m having to be momentarily steadied and shifted wider.
HEY PUMPKIN- Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped again. Laid in under pressure down the running, proving somewhat difficult to ride out and momentarily hampering ARTOPIA near the 200m, despite the efforts of its rider.
SUTHERLAND- Shifted in soon after passing the winning post when not fully clear of DAWYN’S CHOICE. Jockey K Yoshida was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
RACE 5: WARWICK AMBULANCE BM65 HANDICAP 1100m
Trainer C Geran was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch the dual acceptor SWEETPEA MOOCHIE by the prescribed time.
ESJAY- Momentarily crowded on jumping. Laid in under pressure down the running.
COMMAND APPROVED- Began very awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.
HUSS ON FIRST- Began awkwardly.
KOGA NINJA- Began awkwardly. Shifted in marginally when crowded near the 800m.
CAVALHEIRO- Laid in marginally near the 800m. Jockey M Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority.
ZIN ZAN READY- Slow to begin, became awkwardly placed on heels and was momentarily steadied. Momentarily crowded near the 800m.
DEVIL'S RITE- Laid out under pressure down the running.
RACE 6: WARWICK STATE EMERGENCY SERVICES BM55 HANDICAP 1100m
MISHANI PERSUASION- Bumped near the 900m. Laid in near the 600m. Hung in despite the efforts of its rider bumping with SAPANA’S PEARL near the 200m, before continuing to hang in bumping with and crowding SAPANA’S PEARL. Trainer D Stanbridge was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for hanging. Raced wide for the majority.
SWEETPEA MOOCHI- Bumped near the 700m when racing keenly.
EXPLOSIVE DRAGON- Bumped on jumping.
FOO FIGHTER- Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 900m. Bumped near the 700m. Raced wide for the majority.
RARE AND RELIABLE (NZ)- Bumped on jumping. Shifted out marginally around heels near the 200m and was bumped on the hindquarters.
LITTLE SPARK- After beginning only fairly from the wide barrier was ridden conservatively in the early stages and settled in a more rearward position than may have been expected. Raced keenly near the 900m.
ZIMBARA (NZ)- Bumped on jumping.
SAPANA'S PEARL- Laid in under pressure down the running crowding HUMAN TOUCH near the 200m before being bumped and shifting in further and bumping HUMAN TOUCH again before being crowded and having to be steadied itself.
MOUNT DOVE- Held up for clear running soon after entering the home straight.
HUMAN TOUCH- Blundered on jumping. Shifted to the outside of heels before being crowded and buffeted near the 200m.
RACE 7: WARWICK HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1350m
PAN A MILLION- Bumped near the 1000m. Shifted in near the 900m and bumped dictating the running of JACKS AND SODA in, before that runner shifted back out and bumped. Jockey L Tilley was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident
JACKS AND SODA- Bumped when marginally crowded near the 1100m. Shifted out and bumped near the 1000m. Bumped and forced in near the 900m before shifting out and bumping again. App B Wheeler was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident. Momentarily steadied from heels when weakening near the 600m. Eased down in the home straight. App B Wheeler advised that he felt his mount weaken noticeably from the 300m and as such elected to ease his mount down from that point. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. Post race blood samples were taken.
FLYING BANJO- Laid in under pressure down the running.
PRETTY RHO- Underwent farrier attention at the barriers before being examined by the vet and passed fit to start. Momentarily steadied near the 900m.
PEACH GALANTES- Shifted in near the 600m when not fully clear of JACKS AND SODA. Jockey K Yoshida was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
NEW YORK GAL- Raced keenly on heels near the 900m.
BRIEF SOJOURN- Bumped near the 1200m.
