Race 2: WARWICK VET CLINIC MAIDEN PLATE         1350m

The start of the event was delayed when IMAGINA was identified to have been present to the mounting yard without stirrup leathers or irons affixed to the saddle. Jockey R Downey subsequently re-weighed and the mare was re-saddled. Jockey Downey was subsequently fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR227(a) for negligence which could have led to a breach of AR184(b). In considering the matter Stewards were satisfied that the incident had been as a result of negligence and no any nefarious action by Jockey Downey. Trainer N Keal was also severely reprimanded pursuant to AR106 for having the gelding saddled and presented without that piece of gear.

BATE- Bumped the inside running rail near the 800m. Laid in under pressure down the running.

JEDIAH- Steadied from heel near the 800m.

LUCKY ARTIE- Began awkwardly and shifted in before becoming awkwardly placed on heels soon after. Hung out under pressure down the running proving somewhat difficult to ride out, having to be corrected near the 50m.

OHH ERROL-Raced keenly for the majority, over-racing near the 1000m.

UNNECESSARY EVIL- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Shifted out abruptly on jumping and lost ground. Trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part. CHAMPAGNE TOWER- Bumped on jumping.

ELLTITUDE- Laid in under pressure near the 250m becoming awkwardly placed on heels and having to be corrected. App R O’Connell, in the presence of Apprentice Mentor Mr R Fradd, pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in that soon after passing the winning post he did permit his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CHAMPAGNE TOWER, taking that runner in onto the running of LUCKY ARTIE which was tightened and obliged to restrain. App O’Connells license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 6days to commence 19 October up to and including 24 October 2025. App O’Connell was advised of his right to an appeal.
