Following the running of Race 3 and with consultation with the riding group, the track was upgraded to a Good 4 at 2:53pm.
As rider A Bakos was unable to ride due to illness she was replaced as per the race day summary. A. Bakos was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to her return to race riding.

RACE 1: SJG PLUMBING & DRAINAGE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1500M
Correct weight was delayed allowing rider B. Lerena and Trainer K. Kemp (NORTY FORTY) to view the stewards patrol footage of the final 200m. After doing so both rider B. Lerena and K. Kemp were satisfied no interference was suffered when OH PRETTY EMMA shifted out under pressure and elected not to lodge an objection.
BENT BRIDGE- Rider G. Cartwright reported her mount hung out throughout.
MISHANI IMPACT- Raced wide throughout. Raced keenly in the middle stages when the pace of the race slackened. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice O. Kendal reported her saddle slipped near the 1200m point which prevented her from testing her mount out fully.
MISHANI MAUI- Over raced in the early stages.
OH PRETTY EMMA- Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure from the 150m.
RACE 2: IAN FREE MMORIAL FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE 1350M
CROSS OF SCARLET- Shifted out at the start and bumped with HABERFIELD which then bumped MOMENT. When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer M. Morrison stated that after having three runs back from a long spell CROSS OF SCARLET had been building along well to today’s event. He further added that he felt the mare was suited by the drop back in distance and with the conditions of today’s event wasn’t surprised to see the mare winning.
HABERFIELD- Inconvenienced and required to change course near the 75m when SKIEDA (Apprentice S. Callow) shifted out under pressure. Apprentice S. Callow was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in that she failed to stop and straighten her mount.
SHE’S A FIZZ- Rider J. Taylor reported the mare hung in throughout.
SKIEDA- Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice S. Callow was questioned regarding the tactics adopted in today’s event. Apprentice S Callow reported her instructions were to have the mare settle in a position that allowed her to travel comfortably and in a fluent rhythm. She further added she felt the pace of the race was quite quick and thought the leaders would’ve come back to her in the straight. She agreed that in hindsight she could’ve allowed the mare to stride further forward towards the leaders in the middle stages and be closer to the leading horses.
SUBTLE HINTS- Slow to begin and failed to muster any early speed, then raced detached from the field throughout the event. Trainer Mr R. Drysdale was advised the mare must trial to stewards satisfaction prior to racing again.
LILY THE BRAVE- Laid out rounding the home turn. Shifted in momentarily near the 800m

REGGAE FIRE- Became unbalanced passing the 900m when CARDIOLOGIST (H. Shaw) crossed when not sufficiently clear, resulting in REGGA FIRE (App. K. Barker) bumping with COLLEANO (J. Guthmann-Chester). After taking evidence from riders H. Shaw, J.Guthmann-Chester, and Apprentice K. Barker stewards were of the opinion that although CARDIOLOGIST did cross when not sufficiently clear, the racing manners of REGGA FIRE which was racing fiercely, was also a considerable factor into the incident and reprimanded rider Jky H. Shaw pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting in when not sufficiently clear.
