Trainer J. Bellamy was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare the rider of DON’T TELL LUCY by the prescribed time.
Trainer V. Venkaya was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare the rider of PAPAL MISS by the prescribed time.
RACE 1: NUTURF QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 800M
The start of this event was delayed after PROTURNITY reared over and became cast in the barriers. PROTURNITY was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 12:49pm. DON’T TELL LUCY, which was drawn adjacent to PROTURNITY was subsequently withdrawn from the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on PROTURNITY be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – PAST MIDNIGHT 0c win 0c place
2nd –TROPPER SAM 2c place
3rd – MISHANI SENORITA 3c place
A post-race veterinary examination found that the filly had sustained a laceration above the right eye. Trainer J. Baker was advised that PROTURNITY will require a veterinary clearance before racing again and must also complete a satisfactory trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing.
RYJATAH – Slow into stride.
TROOPER SAM – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
DON'T TELL LUCY – Raced keenly in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the filly’s tongue.
LOQUITO – Raced wide throughout.
MISHANI SENORITA – Laid in under pressure over the concluding 200m.
PICK OF THE BUNCH – Stewards permitted the gelding to race without the nasal strip. Raced wide throughout. Rider M. Savva reported her mount laid out passing the 600m.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a Good 3 at 1:08pm.
RACE 2: PICKLEBET GET YOUR PICKLE ON MAIDEN PLATE 1500M
BURN BOBBY BURN (NZ) – Slow to begin. Passing the 200m forced wider when SHINTANGO shifted out.
SHINTANGO – Raced wide from the 800m. Approaching the 200m when racing greenly, forced BURN BOBBY BURN wider. Rider K. Zechner reported his mount laid out rounding the home turn and raced greenly when under pressure in the home straight.
HE SAYS LIES – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
HELL TO THE LINE – Raced wide from the 800m.
LET'S GET BUSY – Slow to begin. Started to yield ground from the 800m and took no real competitive part in the race. Trainer N Hemmings advised connections would now consider the gelding’s immediate racing future, nonetheless, Ms. Hemmings was advised the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
READY TO DRINK – Apprentice B. Osmond was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the finish line.
SONIC FLYER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having raced at Beaudesert on April 25th, 2026.
RACE 3: CLUB WARWICK RSL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1350M
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow 2nd placegetter rider D Moor (KICKUPHIGH) to view footage of the home straight to determine whether any grounds for an objection were present. After viewing the official footage D Moor elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
KICKUPHIGH – Passing the 100m laid out under pressure bumping I’M NELSON, then bumped I’M NELSON again approaching the finishing line.
MISTER MIGHTY – Shifted three wide without cover approaching the 800m.
I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages and bumped with KICKUPHIGH.
I'M NELSON – Bumped by KICKUPHIGH passing the 100m and again approaching the finish line.
LADIES OCEAN RUN – Raced keen in the early stages.
RACE 4: SANDY CREEK PUB - CRISPY CRACKLING CLASSIC RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 2000M
ATTACK FORCE (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
BESIEGE – On entering the home straight momentarily hampered by ALFA DUNDEE which laid in.
FLOP SHOT – Slow to begin. Shifted wider from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery and to have lost both hind plates.
JAMCART (NZ) - Raced wide early.
PROCLAIMER – Slow to begin.
ALFA DUNDEE – Shifted wider from the 600m. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
FLYING ROTHE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having raced at Ipswich on April 23rd, 2026. Held up for clear running upon entering the home straight.
RACE 5: T & G DWAN SUPAFLOATS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1500M
DOWNEY – Raced keen in the early stages.
MARENARO – Hampered approaching the winning post when KIDS IN THE KITCHEN shifted in.
MADALSA – Slow to begin.
KIDS INTHE KITCHEN – Shifted in approaching the winning post hampering MARENARO. Rider B Lerena was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
SUNNY DISPOSITION – Raced keenly in the early stages. Hung out when place under pressure in the home straight.
TOKYO BANDIT – Slow into stride. Passing the 800m had to be restrained after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MARENARO when over-racing, and again near the 500m.
RACE 6: CARS MADE EASY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1350M
LUCIFER'S WAY – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
SILENT FOX – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 100m.
MEADOWBROOK (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.
SO BRIGHT – Began awkwardly, shifting in hampering ALBANIAN BEAUTY. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Bumped with LADY ZAYDI approaching the 250m.
LADY ZAYDI – Bumped with SO BRIGHT approaching the 250m. Raced in restricted room near the 100m when racing between SILENT FOX and SO BRIGHT both which shifted ground.
ALBANIAN BEAUTY – Hampered at the start and lost ground. Raced keen in the early stages. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Trainer S. Sutherland reported the gelding had been working well since the removal of the crossover noseband and with winkers back on, he had expected an improved performance.
DOITLIKEMAXWELL – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
RACE 7: DARLING DOWNS BANK CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200M
DONEGAL BAY – Lost its off-fore plate in running.
OCEAN JOY – Crowded between runners shortly after jumping.
BABALOLA – Fractious in the barriers, subsequently underwent a veterinary examination and passed suitable to start. Raced wide throughout. Trainer B. Healy was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.
STYLISH JOKER – Passing the 1000m raced keen when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover.
POWERFUL WARRIOR – Slow to begin.
