RACE 1

TWILIGHT TANGO (1) was having her first run in QLD for new trainer Ron Sallis when running into second behind I Got Chills. She looks to have landed in a very winnable race where she draws to lead. She has previously shown she is a good leader when beating one of the standout 2 year olds in WA Belly Up in July of last year.

HAVEUCHECKEDHIOUT (6) has had two runs in QLD and has gone well both times behind Go Colour My World and Our Ultimate Jessy. Draws poorly in this race which may mean he needs to do some work or get a long way back in the run but he does bring in some of the better form and looks of the few chances.

MAYWYNS ACE (5) tends to mix his form and hasn’t won in nearly 6 months but looks to be dropping back significantly in grade for this race having taken on Arkuna and Barry Limbo in his last two starts.

OUR LUCY LOU (7) has trialled up reasonably ahead of her race debut and could end up on the back of the leader. She is a half sibling to Isla And Addie and Carter Grant who have both shown good ability in their racing careers.

SELECTIONS: TWILIGHT TANGO (1), HAVEUCHECKEDHIOUT (6), MAYWYNS ACE (5), OUR LUCY LOU (7)

SUGGESTED BET: HAVEUCHECKEDHIOUT (6) to place.

RACE 2

MY SWEET ELISE (5) didn’t handle the occasion on debut when making a break at the start and being tailed off in the run. Had trialled up smartly lead into that debut and may be better for the experience. If she brings her best manners she should be hard to beat.

IMA BALLERINA (1) has good gate speed and draws ideally in this race to potentially get her chance out in front. She battled away well last start at Marburg behind Victree Atom in a race she was forced to do the work in.

BOSTON FIRE (9) took on a strong race last start won by Fire and Passion in a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic. Raced well at Redcliffe his run prior when closing off well behind Call It Bling.

EATING IN CHICAGO (8) has run two solid second placings in her six start career. She draws favourably and should be closing off nicely late.

SELECTIONS: MY SWEET ELISE (5), IMA BALLERINA (1), BOSTON FIRE (9), EATING IN CHICAGO (8)

SUGGESTED BET: MY SWEET ELISE (5) to win.

RACE 3

MIARKA (2) has very good gate speed giving her options in the early stages. She took the trail on I Am Caesar last start and was well beaten into third behind what looks to be a smart horse in Boston Chief. Nathan Dawson jumps on and she should get every chance.

I AM CAESAR (5) was a solid run into second last start at Marburg behind Victree Atom. He has good gate speed and shouldn’t be far away in the run. Hs recent effort behind Boston Chief at Redcliffe was good enough to figure in a race of this nature.

OUR AUNTY PENNY (9) appears to have ability. She was good two runs ago when finishing sixth without a lot of luck at Albion Park. She couldn’t back that up last start when being beaten 49.5 metres at Redclfife and needs to bounce back here.

GLAMOROUS REASONS (7) took on what might’ve been a slightly weaker race last start won by Little Surfer Girl. She draws to get a decent run through in the early stages.

SELECTIONS: MIARKA (2), I AM CAESAR (5), OUR AUNTY PENNY (9), GLAMOROUS REASONS (7)

SUGGESTED BET: MIARKA (2) to win

RACE 4

JILLIBY PANDA (1) has good gate speed and used that early in his run at Marburg when unable to find the front. He was very good there to battle into second not beaten far and looks to have found another race he can lead and give a sight.

OUR DOLLY (3) has really returned to form in recent times. She ran fourth two starts ago in what was a much stronger race where she led and ran a good last half herself beaten 8.3 metres. That effort would see her competitive in this even if she was left without cover.

SHEZA LENNY (4) led last start from a wide gate over the 2040 journey and just faded into third late. She was a month between runs there which may have contributed to her fading late and is likely to be fitter for this run. Might be forced to do some work this time.

SHES CLASSY (6) draws a wide gate and is likely to get a long way back in the run. She has been racing well having scored a good win three starts ago in a heat of the Trot Rods closing up the sprint lane to win.

SELECTIONS: JILLIBY PANDA (1), OUR DOLLY (3), SHEZA LENNY (4), SHES CLASSY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: SHES CLASSY (6) each way.

RACE 5

SWEET LAD JUJON (5) has drawn wide in this race but looks the class runner and is dropping out of a heat of the QBRED Breeders Classic series where he finished eighth. Should push forward in the race and can control the race from the lead or breeze.

BRONX (9) was first up from a spell for new trainer Doug Hewitt last start and was able to run second there behind My Scimitar. He seems to have decent speed and can be running on late in the race.

PLANET DOWNS (8) hasn’t had much luck at all in recent starts when forced back or forced to do plenty of work in his races. He doesn’t draw ideally in this race following a horse out that’s likely to be longer odds.

MY SCIMITAR (3) scored a good win two starts ago when finishing best late to score after taking cover in the early stages. He draws awkwardly in this race but if he can find the pegs he would become a good hope.

SELECTIONS: SWEET LAD JUJON (5), BRONX (9), PLANET DOWNS (8), MY SCIMITAR (3)

SUGGESTED BET: BRONX (9) to win.

RACE 6

I GOT CHILLS (5) took on a restricted wins race last start when first up having his first race start since moving over from NZ. He did plenty of work in the race and was good enough to keep kicking to score over Twilight Tango who’d done no work in the race. He should be better for that outing and appears hard to beat.

OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (9) was an impressive winner of a Trot Rods heat three runs ago when doing all the work and just proving too strong. Has taken on strong races her last two and this looks to have a touch less depth this race.

REDS STAR DEAL (7) looks likely to secure a good run through in the early stages. He is a nice sit sprinter and if the gaps appear he can be running into it late. Should be close and looks an each way hope.

FAVREAU (2) has been racing well having placed in his last five starts. Appeared to have his chance to win last start and just didn’t quite finish it off there.

SELECTIONS: I GOT CHILLS (5), OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (9), REDS STAR DEAL (7), FAVREAU (2)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 7

ILLBEWATCHING (1) led last start and was taken on by Rocktime and Press Statement who went on to be beaten 20 and 109 metres respectively. He went on to be beaten just 6.7 metres by Rock It Baby who had a good run off the speed in the race.

FREELANCE DANCER (7) looks likely to secure a good run through in the early stages on the back of Illbewatching who has good gate speed. She was able to break her maiden two starts ago so is stepping up in grade here but might be improved with a soft run through in the early stages.

THE CASUAL GOOSE (9) is capable of doing work in her races and can work around to the breeze. Was a winner five starts ago sitting without cover over the 2040. She ran well last start beaten just 4.6 metres.

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (8) was a good winner of a race leading all the way at Marburg on Sunday. She seems to be best suited when driven for her sit sprint capacity and looks likely to get that opportunity in this race off the back row draw.

SELECTIONS: ILLBEWATCHING (1), FREELANCE DANCER (7), THE CASUAL GOOSE (9), ABSOLUTELY STOKED (8)

SUGGESTED BET: ILLBEWATCHING (1) to win.

RACE 8

CYCLONE TONY (1) has exceptional gate speed and should easily have the speed to hold up in the early stages. He was a strong winner of a Trot Rods heat two runs ago. He has now had a number of runs back from a spell and should be near peak fitness.

MULLUM DOC (7) scored back to back wins two runs ago both at Redcliffe. He gets the perfect run through at the start on the back of Cyclone Tony. He has high speed and can be running on late once the run appears.

ZOOM PARTY (5) got back in the run last start and just couldn’t make up the ground when running into third. He is a speedy sit sprinter and would be well suited if they ran along in this race.

TIGER TOMMY (4) has been in very good form. Scored a very impressive win three starts ago when closing off from a long way back to score.

SELECTIONS: CYCLONE TONY (1), MULLUM DOC (7), ZOOM PARTY (5), TIGER TOMMY (4)

SUGGESTED BET: MULLUM DOC (7) each way.

Slide9_6.png

RACE 9

LANAI (5) looks the clear class runner in the field being an NR 72 horse using a 3 point claim to get into this up to 70 race. He was well beaten last start but really hit the line powerfully late down the outside of the track. He is generally best when taken back in the early stages and saved for one run at them late.

MY HAMMER DOWN (3) started from a wide gate last start over the 2138 at Albion Park and over raced badly there. He appears likely to appreciate the step back to the 1780 at Redcliffe and can be thereabouts from a good draw.

PLAYA BLANCA (1) has good gate speed and looks to have options from the draw. She scored a good win four starts ago when sitting in the 1-1 and finishing best. May not be one of the classiest runners in the field but has the draw and can play a part with the right run.

KICKATINALONGPONY (8) ran well last start from the stand start. Doesn’t have the best draw in this race and does his best work up on speed.

SELECTIONS: LANAI (5), MY HAMMER DOWN (3), PLAYA BLANCA (1), KICKATINALONGPONY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: MY HAMMER DOWN (3) to win.

RACE 10

HES SWEET (1) has good gate speed and should be able to do enough to lead this race and he has always done his best work out in front. He was a good second last start after racing off the pegs behind Xpress Party.

MIKIS JOE (8) is having his first run in QLD for new trainer Donny Smith. He brings in solid Tasmanian form although it is quite hard to line up. If he is ready to go he should be thereabouts.

DEEBO (5) joins the stable of Jack Butler in QLD having previously done his racing in the Bathurst region. He looks well placed for this race despite the wide draw. He is a month between runs which is a slight query.

RESILIENT (4) broke through for a well deserved win last start when able to work to the front. He may not be able to lead this time but is racing well.

SELECTIONS: HES SWEET (1), MIKIS JOE (8), DEEBO (5), RESILIENT (4)

SUGGESTED BET: HES SWEET (1) to win.
